  • The Barrow! The tomb of Dead Kings, the resting place of mighty Vikings and now the awesome scenery on your board! What will you find within? Well, that parts up to you! But first, you'll have to build that Barrow.
This week, bring together all the knowledge from building and decorating your stones and use it to build this EPIC center piece. It'll be perfect for any fantasy or historical setting - there might even be something for you Sci-fi enthusiasts in there.

Seriously good great stuff lads and keep it up! And you can really tell Q has put in the man hours in building these models, have the honour of having one in my own studio sitting beautifully. Q really has established a great build system in which he's grown acostum too and he makes it look incredibly simple. Then says stuff like, it was easy and I used this, I'm always impressed by his creativity. Respect to all involved working in the channel.

Just as a basic upgrade to the design, instead of a single centerline piece coming from the entrance, do two of them. One on each side of the door and moving back. Use a stonework pattern on the interior part, it would shift it to give a hallway into the depths from the door. It creates a bit more useful points with entry into it and adds detail for placing the piece on a shelf for display/diorama look while also reinforcing the stability of the top

That's a great idea. It was abit of a challange designing the roof - you might have noticed from the video we did an itegrated roof and a whole other barrow with a detachable roof. But like, thats exactly what I love about terrain modeling, you have this great idea then find ways to iterate on it, like, your idea in particular could be fun for wargames, so that when the battlelines are set, there's this half hidden corridor through a barrow flankers can use. Cheers for your input, we intend to circle back to barrows in a few months so we'll work it into a video!

@@TrihardGamesWorkshop Adding some short walls to either side also adds places you can stuff a cheap tea light when it's closed for some added effects.
Another thing for making a more stable roof might be to add something like a ring of inch long walls extending regularly around the outer edge to add something that could be "burial nooks" or the like and let you have more for keeping the roof in place and supported because the top is also a rather large area.

This is a fantastic project. I might have to try making it with a removable top and a playable interior for RPGs. Looking forward to your future videos.

there is actually two versions, one with tiles to play inside, and the other as a centrepiece, love your interest

I would love to make one of these with a roof that opens. Tricky tho

It certainly is the next step in complexity - Our first ever iteration of the barrow had a detachable roof and we'll have a vid coming out in the next couple of months detailing how you can do it yourself, but yea, it's tricky! Thanks for the comment!

@@TrihardGamesWorkshop Was thinking the same thing, glad to hear there will be a video on this! In the meantime I'll build some standing stones and dolmens.

This kind of video makes me want to die! - and be buried in a fancy prehistoric passage tomb with some fat loot.
However, there is stuff in the video I wish would have been clarified a bit. I got a little confused occasionaly. I simply had to assume the swirls on the stones around the perimiter were made with the technique demonstrated in the previous video. I didn't understand at what point the cardboard and tissue paper was removed from the cavity of the tomb. Then there was that second tomb which was demonstrated right at the end, the one with a removable top. It was nice. It would have been worth a few dedicated lines of commentary.

Thanks for the Feedback Philip, and we're glad we're inspired a yearning for a truly awesome grave. I'm sure you'll be surronded by epics for Adventurers to find in a future life.
We'll get this feedback to our script writer and take your points into consideration for future videos. Our editor will be ragin, because he pointed out before the script was complete that the barrow wil removeable lid needed a mention - Doh!

@@TrihardGamesWorkshop I imagine myself in a sarcophagus clutching a massive two handed cheese slicer (+3 vs cheese golems). Any adventurers would have to pry it from my cold dead hands.
Yeah, go ahead and annoy him as much as possible.
