Agreed. Ang Lee's Hulk isn't very popular, but Eric Bana was an excellent Bruce Banner, and the Hulk himself was the absolute picture of bottomless rage and power.
I watched this scene many times and I just realized...why did he go all the way to the artic just to shoot himself? Was it to isolate the hulk just in case it didn’t work🤔
Fun fact: Even though they cut this scene they still refer to it later in Avengers when Black Widow is recruiting Banner. He says he tried to put a bullet in his own head but it didn't work.
I love Norton, but I think Ruffalo is a better fit within the Avengers group dynamic. I don’t think Ruffalo could carry a solo film as well as Norton though.
Very impressive. Love the arctic scenery, it's so beautiful. Can see why it would be a bit hard on the kids, especially at the beginning. Norton would have been a greater contrast with the other Avengers with his seriousness.
For those who don’t know or remember this deleted scene was actually referenced in The Avengers (2012) film where Banner says to the team: “The cell was incase you needed to kill me, you can’t, I know, I tried. I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it back out. Then I moved on after that.”.
Imagine if this segued into a film version of Hulk VS Wolverine, which takes place a snowy mountainous location with either the Wendigo or the version with Sabertooth and Deadpool. It’s amazing how 95% of Marvel fans prefer Norton as Banner.
Maybe I have Rose tinted glasses but for me, Norton's Hulk is the absolute greatest. He was perfect for the role and brought a depth that Bana and Ruffalo are not capable of.
@James Ma "make hulk weak" he literally just threw a rock into space in She-Hulk episode 1. Also, he survived using the infinity gauntlet, one of the most powerful forces in the universe. I would hardly call that weak "7 1/2 feet tall instead of 9 feet. 800 lbs instead of 950" sometimes you have to scale things down to make them fit with everything else "Gets hurt by everything" lmao what? He was hurt by Thanos and the infinity gauntlet while in Hulk form, then gets into a car crash as Banner while the Hulk is repressed. When else did he ever get injured? "And I mean bro did you not watch the captain marvel Brie Larson film you’re cap If you think marvel isn’t left" I'm cap? As in Captain America? Yes, I watched that film. Who cares if Marvel is left? There's more to this than most people may think. Yes, Bruce wants to get out of being the Hulk and goes up here to kill himself in the hopes to end it all. But not only is he there because he's afraid of the Hulk not dying and going on a rampage. He does this because even if he did successfully die, his body could be recovered and Ross would dissect him and use him to create more Hulks. That's what the real threat is.
This pain comes when you can’t forgive yourself because you hurt the person you care about the most. But you need understand that person wants you to be kind to yourself. Because right now I’m beating myself a lot for what I did.
Interesting fact about the alternate opening is at the very very end of it before it cuts to black (so you gotta pause it perfectly), and then look to the chunk of ice on the left, captain America was in that chunk of ice, but the decided not to use this opening bc it wasn't canon to the real way captain america was found and awakened
Ed Norton never had any intention of being part of a ‘franchise’. He’s just not that commercial of an actor. It would be like expecting him to do a sequel to _Fight Club._ Not gonna happen. Marvel was still reeling from the disastrous first Hulk movie, they needed not just an A-list actor, but one with serious respectability, and Norton had it. In the end it all worked out fine for everybody..

It is kinda sad that this was deleted because this is what Bruce tried to do in the comics so he could stop hurting the people he loved and Betty and the world because he believes hulk is a violent savage monster who deserves to be killed even if he had to die as well but of course it never worked out and he got even angrier and we all know what happens when you make hulk a lot more angrier....he gets stronger.....this movie was very faithful to the comics since it shown hints of Bruce’s misery and hulks loneliness and would do anything to protect Betty and it even had his to iconic words (Hulk smash) and his signature thunder clap to stop the fire which proved hulk was never fully mindless....I really wish universal could just give back the distribution to marvel studios for hulk or come up with some agreement to work together like Sony is doing with Good old Spidey 😀

Norton is phenomenal, a great actor in any role, but I still like Eric Bana, he did a helluva job, in my opinion.
Totally agree with you there , I cannot relate Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner at all.
Agreed. Ang Lee's Hulk isn't very popular, but Eric Bana was an excellent Bruce Banner, and the Hulk himself was the absolute picture of bottomless rage and power.
Mark ruffalos Bruce was pretty good in avengers 1 and 2 imo. That’s about it tho
Love how at 2:24-2:25 if you slow it down and look around the lower left area, you can see a vague outline of Captain America in the Ice
On that last large chunk of ice in the lower left. Can barely see it at regular speed, need to slow down as much as possible.

I watched this scene many times and I just realized...why did he go all the way to the artic just to shoot himself? Was it to isolate the hulk just in case it didn’t work🤔
I think so, he didn't want to risk a lot of damage if he was in a city or something
gabriel rodriguez makes sense 🤔
To cool off Hulk
Probably also so they cant find his body if he succeeds.
Because he knew it wouldn't work. He didn't want the Hulk rampaging in a city.
Fun fact: Even though they cut this scene they still refer to it later in Avengers when Black Widow is recruiting Banner. He says he tried to put a bullet in his own head but it didn't work.
It's wild to me that this is the same character that is in She-Hulk right now.
Yeah it’s bs
MCU wise, yes
Mark rufallo is a great man but why do people prefer him over Edward Norton I will never understand .......
I love Norton, but I think Ruffalo is a better fit within the Avengers group dynamic.
I don’t think Ruffalo could carry a solo film as well as Norton though.

Why was it deleted?

Very impressive. Love the arctic scenery, it's so beautiful. Can see why it would be a bit hard on the kids, especially at the beginning. Norton would have been a greater contrast with the other Avengers with his seriousness.
For those who don’t know or remember this deleted scene was actually referenced in The Avengers (2012) film where Banner says to the team: “The cell was incase you needed to kill me, you can’t, I know, I tried. I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it back out. Then I moved on after that.”.
Its nice that some deleted scenes are considered canon.
He just scream and destroy a glacier... This is the Hulk we would always like to see...
I would have loved for this to be the original opening to the movie.
At least Banner references this in The Avengers. Likely why it got deleted because it felt too much.

Imagine if this segued into a film version of Hulk VS Wolverine, which takes place a snowy mountainous location with either the Wendigo or the version with Sabertooth and Deadpool. It’s amazing how 95% of Marvel fans prefer Norton as Banner.
Dammit I miss Edward Norton Hulk all the more, and I had already missed him
just found out this after 11 years of knowing this movie
Maybe I have Rose tinted glasses but for me, Norton's Hulk is the absolute greatest. He was perfect for the role and brought a depth that Bana and Ruffalo are not capable of.
Watching the portrayal of Bruce Banner in She-Hulk and going back to this you gotta wonder. Just what the hell happened to the character?
They wanna bastardize our role models, it culturally weakens us on a subconscious level
@James Ma Lmao what does that even mean?
@James Ma "make hulk weak" he literally just threw a rock into space in She-Hulk episode 1. Also, he survived using the infinity gauntlet, one of the most powerful forces in the universe. I would hardly call that weak
"7 1/2 feet tall instead of 9 feet. 800 lbs instead of 950" sometimes you have to scale things down to make them fit with everything else
"Gets hurt by everything" lmao what? He was hurt by Thanos and the infinity gauntlet while in Hulk form, then gets into a car crash as Banner while the Hulk is repressed. When else did he ever get injured?
"And I mean bro did you not watch the captain marvel Brie Larson film you’re cap If you think marvel isn’t left" I'm cap? As in Captain America? Yes, I watched that film. Who cares if Marvel is left? If you can't enjoy something for what it is simply because you don't like the politics of the content creator, that's a you problem

Yes is the Captain America
At 2:24 if you slow it down you can see caps shield in the ice which actually would explain how shield found it and cap they weren’t looking for him but they were looking at that anomaly and in the process found the wing of the ship and caps shield leading them to believe they had found cap
I remember a scene like this being in the video game. I never knew it was supposed to be in the movie
Fun Fact: Banner mentioned this scene in The Avengers.
He fits the role perfectly 👍👍👍
There's more to this than most people may think. Yes, Bruce wants to get out of being the Hulk and goes up here to kill himself in the hopes to end it all. But not only is he there because he's afraid of the Hulk not dying and going on a rampage. He does this because even if he did successfully die, his body could be recovered and Ross would dissect him and use him to create more Hulks. That's what the real threat is.
Cutting out something as elegant as this is the exact fear that Marvel fans had when they heard that Disney was acquiring Marvel over a decade ago
This is the best hulk
Not the watered down joke of a hulk marvel has turned it into
This pain comes when you can’t forgive yourself because you hurt the person you care about the most. But you need understand that person wants you to be kind to yourself. Because right now I’m beating myself a lot for what I did.
Norton had the smaller body frame like the comic Bruce. Also he seems highly intelligent in appearance.
Interesting fact about the alternate opening is at the very very end of it before it cuts to black (so you gotta pause it perfectly), and then look to the chunk of ice on the left, captain America was in that chunk of ice, but the decided not to use this opening bc it wasn't canon to the real way captain america was found and awakened
maybe someone needs to make a video and circle it, because I can't see it no matter how much I slow it down.
@@fakecastiel1479 it's in a single to maybe 2 frames but you have to go through it frame by frame or even half frame if you need to

This Banner didnt even complain climbing up an icy mountain.meanwhile,we have a Hulk now who complains about stairs.
And people say movie hulk is weak mcu hulk can shatter an iceberg just by punching it the iceberg shatter was meant for a punch do to an alternate deleted scene that was soon shown from the game
I so much prefer the dark hulk with internal battles rather than the comedic one we got now
2:25 at this scene you can see captain america's body in the left side of the screen (look closely)
For those who are wondering why there's no single shot where Bruce actually shot himself, well I think it was done after his eyes turned green...
I clicked on this because of it's the quality, and sure enough, you see frozen Captain America in the ice.

I never believed Ruffalo's Bruce Banner had that much rage inside of him.
Norton must be the hulk foreveeeeer !!!
Well, Norton didn't want to be remembered as just the guy who played the Hulk. That's why he quit.
This would be badass if they included this as the opener or a teaser for the film
While Ruffalo is a solid choice, Norton is just on a different level...
This would've been a good place to meet Wolverine.
Exactly what I was thinking. Reminded me of the X-men movie where he met Rouge
Teases Captain America AND Wolverine. Norton was a genius!
I love this scene.
And she hulk says she been through more stuff than Bruce🤦🏿
Say it to a guy who has been throughout family abuse, from his dad to be specific that then murdered Bruce's mom, a guy that then has been a government target, a guy who had to restart hus life everytune he hulked, he lost the 2 loves of his life, one who was never seen again and the other one saving the universe, also don't forget he was slaved 2 years out of the planet and obligated to fight for entertainment sake and of course a suicide survivor, yet her stupid cousin telling him she controlls anger way better than him and has been in worse cases than Bruce
Makes me wish Marvel had allowed Edward Norton to make the Hulk his way!!!
I still would have preferred Norton as the Hulk.
It is kinda sad that this was deleted because this is what Bruce tried to do in the comics so he could stop hurting the people he loved and Betty and the world because he believes hulk is a violent savage monster who deserves to be killed even if he had to die as well but of course it never worked out and he got even angrier and we all know what happens when you make hulk a lot more angrier....he gets stronger.....this movie was very faithful to the comics since it shown hints of Bruce’s misery and hulks loneliness and would do anything to protect Betty and it even had his to iconic words (Hulk smash) and his signature thunder clap to stop the fire which proved hulk was never fully mindless....I really wish universal could just give back the distribution to marvel studios for hulk or come up with some agreement to work together like Sony is doing with Good old Spidey 😀
this scene should have been in the movie.
At least this was referenced in The Avengers.
TBH I would have been fine if Norton was still the hulk in the avengers movies
Man, this was good. I'm thinking of including this in my Wattpad story.
Stuff like this is why I always think story wise deleted scenes tend to be canon because this scene was still referenced in avengers
Not exactly the same but close enough.

This is the best Hulk ever, and Norton is the best Banner (next to Bixby)
Amazing scene
Ruffalo did mention about pulling the trigger on himself in the Avengers.
He did in the intro of Incredible Hulk the game... I honestly prefer that one. He fired the gun into his mouth then Hulk spit the bullet.
It is interesting that some deleted scenes are canon.
While I know it's an opening... also could have been a interesting ending... even though he saved the city.... Bruce didn't have as much control as he thought...
Yeah now Banner has the Control over Hulk
in Avengers 1 Bruce refers to that deleted scene as is
In Ruffalo's telling of it, though, Bruce actually got the shot off... and Hulk spit the bullet back out.
Welll this scene is deleted so it’s not cannon
@@brettstalling2269 Yes, it is super obvious, the deleted scenes are not of clear canon, some of them, but it must be said that what Bruce Banner refers to is similar to that scene, and if perhaps Marvel came up with a mini reference knowing that This scene was not taken into account and they took up that idea, always that is to say that marvel recycles eliminated aspects to give them in another context

@@filmflix1431 well said! Edward Norton played the part to perfection. But my biggest problem is this...the Hulk was always my favorite comic book character when I was growing up. He was not a typical hero, but rather a terrifying force that would occasionally be helpful. Even the animated version of Hulk was well done and respectfull. But the MCU turned him into a whining toddler in Ragnorak, turned him into a coward in Infinity War, then eliminated him completely in Endgame. Disgraceful!

They could've used this as a dream sequence or flashback like when he was in the shower.
So, I thought he said he swallowed a bullet and the "other guy" spilled it out. The movie shows here that Bruce Banner didn't even had a courage to point the gun 🔫 into his mouth.
Nope. That was an idea Edward Norton wanted to do. But marvel wouldn’t let him.
they should have kept this scene instead of the intro we saw in the final cut, you could have tell the origin of how he turned into in a simple way and you don't even had to show it but this scene in the arctic is brilliant, while Ang Lee Hulk explained hulks power and trauma at the very beginning was necessary because there was so much stuff to tell about Bruce and his father relationship that explaining that in the movie could had made it longer and a bit confusing (Hulk 2003 is my favorite hulk movie btw), this scene is brilliant as an opening in the movie because easily explain the struggling relationship between Bruce and Hulk and how tired, frustrated he feels about the cursed that ruined his entire life and there is not a single piece of dialogue just acting and good soundtrack.
