- Shootout Hockey is a tabletop game in which you can simulate a game of ice hockey in under 15 minutes. Many NHL seasons are available in PDF form; go to www.shootouthockeygame.com
***There was an error reading the Scoring Range chart for Chicago at the 7:50 mark.
Thanks for the video ! I purchased it and I’m looking forward to playing it soon. Your walk through is a big help.
YOU ARE THE GREATEST HOCKEY GAMER OF ALL TIME !!!!
Aw shucks, croona...
Very good and informative video.
Looking forward to the other videos which would complete the game play of this very fun game.
Good stuff P Jet :-)
I appreciated this as a reminder as I haven’t played Shootout Hockey in a few years.
This game is s blast to play
Is the NA on the save an automatic goal or save ?
It's a misprint, his save range should be 4-11.
P Jet, love your videos of this game so much. What does Rare play Cold Goalie (H) mean on the FAC? I really don't know what the letter in parentheses is referring to?
Thanks, it will be either H for Home or A for Away.
Nice job.
how much is the game?
All game cards are a PDF file that you print yourself. Individual
seasons range from $5-8, game instructions and charts are $3, Fast
Action Deck is $2.50. Contact info is in the description
how/where do you buy this game?
Shootouthockey@yahoo.com for a list of game parts and available seasons. Everything is in PDF form so you get a download and print everything out on your home printer.
Hi, you call this video sample play but is there an advance mode in SOH game? I haven't seen the other 2 videos. Thanks
No, just the mode of play you see here. It's a perfect game for those who don't want to spend an hour or more on a medium-to-high-complexity game but who also don't want a quick-play game that just generates final scores.
Love the videos! I bought GTOP 1 and GTOP 2. Couple of notes for this video
1 - Detroit''s 2nd goalie, Hall, has a #N/A save rating. John noted on the Delphi Forum that the range is 4-11.
2 - You mentioned that Chicago's offense rating was B but you used C for the scoring chance. Instead of 82-00, it should have been 79-00.
Thanks for doing these videos!
Good catch Mark, I did read the wrong column when figuring the Hawks' scoring range. Thanks for watching.
How many teams print on one page?
Hi Olli, it prints 3 teams to a page. The 1970's decade set for example, is 5 pages of teams.
@@pjet8042 Thanks P Jet, I was thinking about ordering the 2019-20 season and finishing the rest of the regular season if it wouldn't have gotten cancelled
I'd like to know about realism? Is nearly to realty? Can I mix line even if they are fixed on roster sheet? Thanks
I have done several full season replays and got realistic results. Here is a thread on my replay of the 1973-74 Flyers and Seals: forums.delphiforums.com/shootout/messages/?msg=75.1 Stats can be found at the end of the thread.
I have also replayed the 1977-78 Red Wings and Cleveland Barons as well as the full 1943-44 season. If you scroll through the replay section of that forum you'll find the writeups and stats for those projects also.
You can certainly mix up the lines anyway you want. I usually consider a forward from another line to be playing the point in place of one of the defensemen on the powerplay.
Thanks, I like that is cheaper. What about Strat o matic? Is that more realistic?
@@giacomobreschi2316 -Strat produces realistic results too but it is a medium complexity game as compared to Shootout which is low complexity. Strat has individual player cards, faceoffs, defense ratings, intimidation, etc. and more decision-making. Strat takes an hour to play where Shootout takes 15 minutes.
? Do you have any new videos coming of shootout
Hockey - thinking about getting this
There is part 2 and 3 of this series plus a full game play-through on my channel. Life is getting in the way of making new videos right now.
Looks like fun. Do the stats come out realistically?
Yes. I've done several full season projects which you can read about on the Shootout Hockey forum at Delphi Forums.
Thank you very much!! for this video I love this game but I am not sure how to pull the goalie and what to do when a goalie is pulled. Can you advise me please?
You can pull the goalie in the last 4 minutes of the game. Each action card draw is one minute in this case; you disregard the timer reading and read directly off the box labeled "6th" in the lower right hand corner of the action card. Three possible results: no action; a goal for the team with the 6th attacker; or an empty net goal against the team with the 6th attacker.
So simple, thanks a lot.
Thank you for posting these Shoot-Out Hockey videos. I just picked up the game. I’m using dice. Question... I know if you are using the FAC you add 15 to the team’s scoring chance on a power play. If using dice, how much do I add? Thanks.
Haven't played dice in ages but I believe you add 6 "dice roll numbers" or 10 "numeric numbers", i.e. a range of 11-16 becomes 11-26.
Thanks.
Looking for someone in Cleveland area to play stratomatic hockey
What type of paper can you suggest?
either 65-lb. or 110-lb. card stock works well.
Watched all three videos. Excellent quality. I have sent several email to address but not heard anything from john and desperate to purchase
I see you also posted on the Shootout Delphi forum? I'll send John a message from my email.
Thank you
likewise here... would love to pick this up
John just posted on the Shootout forum - he was in the process of moving from Connecticut to Florida, then had to deal with home repairs after hurricane Irma, so that would account for any delays in replying.
He just got back to me... Hope all is well. i lost my house in Sandy so i know the feeling all too well
Love the videos! Your videos helped make my decision to buy the game. I purchased it last night. The game does not include a scoresheet. Do you use a scoresheet? I found one on the Delphi forum, but was curious as to the different scoresheets that are out there.
+Curt Bartel ---- thanks, I actually just use lined note paper and make tick marks to count off the time elapsed.
would buy the game but i do not have a printer
You can put the PDF file on a flash drive and take it to an office supply store like Staples, Kinko's, etc. and have them print the cards on 65- or 110-lb card stock.
Requires a paypal account to purchase. Ummm...NOPE.
You don't need an account to pay through Paypal. Email John and he can send you a Paypal invoice that just prompts you to enter a credit card without registering. Or arrange some other form of payment, I'm sure he'll work with you.
