My goodness, what a glorious treble voice Jonah had. That was sublimely beautiful. I doubt I have ever heard Pueri Conciniti sung better.

The citizens of Zurich are so fortunate to have such a lovely church with a talented choir. This is not a difficult piece to sing and not easy to mess up if you a good voice. This boy has a fine voice and makes those top notes so gracefully. Thank you for sharing this.

zskfan100 I am going to take note of where they sing in Zurich. I am sure I have seen it before. But this certainly was a beautiful Cathedral. Thank you for putting me right on that. I should have said the people of Rome were fortunate to have the talented boys in the choir from Zurich to sing for them in that fine church.
Donald Edward You will not believe that: The entry into that concert was for free. For me to travel to Rome cause the Zurchers of course was not free. of charge..:)))

How easily this boy is singing...amazing!
It's not a coincidence that this piece sounds so good sung by boys. Herbeck was the director of the Austrian Imperial Chapel Choir (K.u.K Hofsingknabe), nowadays known as the Vienna Boys Choir. The piece is one of their signature works for obvious reasons.
Who could not love this? Wonderful. Jonah is fabulous.

@ R. Brown: You are right. That video here is already six and a half years old and should have at least more views. Jonah still is singing with the men voices of the choir. An almost current recording must be available at YT.

That masterpiece is a Paraderolle (deutsch) for a boy soloist....:) I do like that opus very much ! Thank you for your comment. I´m also the owner of the channel zskfan100. Since a lot of years I wasn´t in Switzerland any more. The choir has in the meantime an own channel at YT.
@@Kruzifan I was in Switzerland one time in my life for visiting Einsiedeln, St Gallen and the Vierwaldstattersee. Switzerland is unfortunately very expensive and not worth the spent if we compare with other European countries which are much cheaper. Greetings from Antwerp-Belgium where the museum of fine arts has recently reopened.

Europe, especially German speaking countries, have more interest in boy singers. Also in England there are boy choirs in cathedrals. This I've really not heard of in the US. They have lovely voices, such purity.

@uncd2000: Sorry for my late reply: I believe (!) that in Rome I only have filmed that performance. Here at my channel are a lot of good recordings. Since the choir has an own channel here at YT I wasn´t travelling to Switzerland any more.

Und ja er ist leider im stimmbruch aber er singt immer noch wie ein engel! Den vorherigen Kommentar habe ich nach der singstunde geschrieben. Wir haben dort wieder pueri concinite gesungen. Wenn man denkt wie gut er ramals schon sigen konnte! Der ist ein echter Engel

Der Knabe hat alle Voraussetzungen dafür, ein guter Sänger zu werden. - Intonationsmäßig fabelhaft! - Die Dynamik hätte noch besser berücksichtigt werden müssen. - Das Orchester war fast immer zu laut. - Der Junge konnte nicht anders singen....Vielen Dank!
Ja, der Knabe singt sehr schön und immer sauber. - Nun könnte man noch ein wenig an der Flexibilität seiner Stimme feilen und an den Plosiven, wie das "P", damit es nicht gar so stark "explodiert"....Singtechnisch muss das "P" ausgesprochen werden, bevor der Vokal kommt...."apparuit". Der Knabe spricht es zusammen mit dem Vokal aus.
Irgendeiner hat immer was zu meckern.

Of course I do know the great soloist from "The children of Monsieur Matthieu" and his overwhelming many followers here at YT....:) At YT are a lot of great boy soloists performing that opus. "Unsurpassed" for me ist Alois Mühlbacher from Austria. Ask the search function of YT for him and that opus. YT sometimes does not allow to add links... By the way: I´m also zskfan100...,

French boy sopranos have an ultra-pure timbre. We listen to music not because of technical skill, but because of the pure timbre. Isn't that right? 😀
@@Alexander_Goosev Sorry, but it´s possible that it was an error. By the way: I do have nothing against French trebles... But world wide also were existing other great boy soloists - not in France only. You do know that at YT are a lot of videos with performances by Alois Mühlbacher available. @@Kruzifan As for Alois, I wanted to inform you that he is not a boy soprano, but a girl soprano. The same goes for Max Cencic. Apparently, this is due to the peculiarities of the hormonal spectrum affecting the vocal cords.
These two outstanding young soloists have noticeable "female" timbre distortions. That's for sure, because I have absolute pitch. You probably can't hear it. The real boy is Luís Travesset. 😀
