This tips will help you recover your luggage if the airlines misplace them. On a day with lots for flight cancellations it's possible airlines will have thousands of bags that did not get there on time. Now how do they know which bag is yours?

It's always a good idea to buy a suitcase that's a less ubiquitous color (i.e., not black or dark blue), and/or try to personalize it in some way, such as putting a brightly colored strap, tag, fabric tie, or even large sticker on it, etc.
Exactly! That’s part of the reason I got white suitcases when I bought new ones. They are hard sided so I can just clean them up with a magic eraser or Clorox wipes!
Great tip. Another picture to take is of the luggage claim receipt. That came to be very helpful on our Alaska trip
In addition to my case being an unusual color, I use a bright strap and matching handle covers. I also use an airtag.

Neighbor of ours has a garden variety one, I think a grey or black samsonite, something there's a million of. Ties THREE random bright neon colored ribbons to the handle. Light, easy, cheap, and totally stands out. Plus it's more than 1 so even if 1 falls of there's two more
Great tip. Make sure tags don't interfere with the barcode on the luggage tag that is machine scanned in sorting. Also put ID info inside in case tags get lost in the machines.
We do that same thing. It makes the description easy and proves condition.

I always take a photo of my suitcase. It helped last month for the hotel clerk in Dublin to find my luggage which had been delivered to the wrong room. I make sure it is very distinctive too.

Our suitcases are in unusual colors and have special markings.
Plus: we use airtags.
Last cruise we flew premium economy. So we were _allowed to check two 50 pound bags each. We were only going to be away for nine days so we only checked one that had extras like the kilt and spare clothing. Coming back, we checked three bags and only carried personal items. Sure enough, they lost a bag. But coming home, it doesn't matter. It was delivered to the house three days later. No big deal.

My mother always put florescent pink plastic ties on his handles of each of her bags. That was when she started cruising in the early 90s. Suggested by her cruise travel agent. But a photo is showing these is one step further. Very smart!

I add a bright can't miss it fabric tie when I travel. Even though my suitcase is a boring colour, that always makes it stand out. Easy to find.

good tip last time I got off a cruise the tag someh9ow got detached from the bag so it was not in the pick-up area they found it pretty quick but a photo would have helped

I always put air tags now and advice for pictures
I’ve been taking pictures for years. One of the contents and one of the outside.
I have very unique luggage. Trust me, I can spot it in a warehouse of luggage. It is Heys "Macaw" pattern of a Macaw's wing with red, yellow and blue feathers. In 13 years I have only ever seen one other person with the same pattern (a rolling carry on) in a US airport terminal.
Lol mine is white with Paris background. With hello kitty tag. I made sure to get something unusual. I didn't want red black or Navy. That would have got lost in the sea. Before that it was lime green.
We like to use air tags and we have luggage straps to help us find our bags.
I bought colourful Duck Tape and made a large square on each side of my bags. They are now easier to identify🎉

I always wonder how the googly eyes are attached to Suitcase? They must take a lot of banging around between you dropping him off and you getting him back
