As a Puerto Rican I really love see people from different countries and ethnicities try and enjoy our food â€ïžđ”đ· thanks a lot ! BLESSINGS
hey yb, thanks for bringing something positive amidst everything happening right now. all the love â€
thank you for watching! đ„°
Keep up the good work, YB!
Love you bringing attention to this cause for Puerto Rico. sending much love and prayers during this time for you and the try fam â€
thank you đ
Im Puerto Rican and i wanna say thank you for the support and love. My family is going through a lot right now in Puerto Rico and it means a lot that you shared the situation on your platform. Again, thank you for the love. Que viva P FKN R.
Love you for bringing attention to our island. Thank You for your support!
I hope everything is okay! đ
@@YBChangOfficial we are struggling with the restoration of electric power, a thing that shouldnât be happening. In my case we are fine, trying to help with what we can. đ
Just here to send a message of support to you YB! Sorry that you have been dragged by ignorant people that have no idea how hard you work to create great content. Times may be hard now but there is light on the other side and many of us will be here to keep watching the cool things you do!! Keep your head up!!
thank you đ„°
@@YBChangOfficial try Soul Food or African Food ( Nigerian)â€
Hearing YB and Herbert pronounce everything made me realize how she must feel watching people talk about Korean dishes. Happy you enjoyed our comfort foods! This brought back some good memories.
haha it's okay, Korean is hard!!
This is awesome! As a Puerto Rican, I'm always very happy when people try our food and read about our culture. Your pronunciations were great! If you ever try pasteles again, try them with ketchup! Some Puerto Ricans swear by it and others think it ruins the dish, but it's really a matter of taste. :) And... I also find that mofongo can be dry sometimes. đ
I'll try that!! đ„°
You know, i find mofongo so dry too! I thought maybe it was the place i get it from lol
ketchupđ
@@crystalserlin5080 I'm Dominican so maybe it's just that, but we usually eat our mofongo with a type of sauce (usually from some braised meat) and it helps with the dryness.
@@This_is_Bambii al ajillo o con mojo isleño
I really like that you include captions of the names of the foods- and reference back to them again, caption included, when you review your favorites! So helpful!! Such a fun thing to do together aa a couple!!!
I'm glad its helpful!! đ„°
"Everybody has dumplings," I think about this in terms of empanadas, meat pies, Haitian pate, and Jamaican patties. I really do hope you guys find a nice Haitian spot. and I love that you gave some background, not just on the cuisine but the cultures and flavor pallets that have affected that region. Haiti has such a significant influence from the west African roots, the Spanish occupation, and then the French. but since you're in L.A. you're getting a new side to Haitian food which is the Mexican influence do on the displaced Haitians that have come to L.A. after having been refugees from the past tropical storms years ago. and if you've ever been to Spain you really know the difference between Spanish food and Mexican food. also, that seasoning joke is so clever I have to steal that for when I see someone eating something out of season!!! " how are you gonna eat those strawberries without proper seasoning!?" that's inside joke GOLD
I would love to try!! and hahaha
Your pronunciations were great! So glad you enjoyed Boricua cuisine đ„° And you even tried pasteles! Thanks for sharing info about the hurricane as well. Much love!
thank you đ„°
Such a wonderful way to support the Puerto Rico using your platform!
These videos always give me inspiration for new cuisine to look for recipes for to cook and try! Love the attention you're bringing to help Puerto Rico đ”đ·
Love for the try fam đ đ â€
thank you đ„°
It is so wonderful that you introduce us to so many different foods from different cultures! I can tell you do your research to try to educate us on all of it as best as you can :) And I think everyone appreciates that you are trying your best with the pronunciation of the names! It can be tough when it's in a language you're not fluent in, but the important part is that you try, that's the only way you can improve đ
thank you đ„°
I LOVE THIS. Thank you for trying Puerto Rican food and sharing info about how to help everyone impacted by the hurricane. Appreciate you!!!! †đ
thank you for watching! đ„°
This is probably the most respectful and educational video of people trying Puerto Rican food, I find too many videos where they think itâs okay to trash or make fun of someoneâs cuisine or even criticizing it by implying that itâs copying other Latin American food/cuisine. I was so happy to see you talking a little about the culture and its influences in its cuisine plus the pronunciation is really, really close!! The Râs can be a bit hard to pronounce lol either way amazing video and Iâm so happy the algorithm did its good deed and recommended your video!!!!
Thank you so much for raising awareness to whatâs going on in Puerto Rico and highlighting our wonderful island
hope you're doing okay!đ
That is true, every country has its own kind of dumplings and it's very interesting! And your pronunciation is not bad at all. It's so special that you two get to taste so many different foods together, it could seem not important but you're building such lovely memories together. Please cherish each other.
We love you! đ„°
thank you đ„° we love you too!
YB thank you for bringing attention to the stuff happening in Puerto Rico!
also, as a Puerto Rican, I didn't know a lot of those facts about the food! i love this video đ„°
thank you for watching! đ„°
We love you YB!! Donât let anybody bring you down!! Stay resilient and classy as always â€â€â€â€â€I support u 1000% & Ik Coming from a stranger it may not mean much but I seriously look up to u, ur absolutely gorgeous, smart and incredibly talented
thank you đ„°đ„°
100% orgullosamente boricua. Thank you for showing love to PR
This has inspired me to try Puerto Rican food! Good job explaining the history and enjoying the food (and comparing the food tried to other Asian foods).
Congrats on your future new home too!! So excited to see whatâs ahead for you both YB and Herbert!!
thank you!! đ
Thank you for your support! You pronounced everything great, So glad you really enjoyed our food. â€â€ You got a follow! And you ate all the best dishes đ€€ I might have to cook tonight lol
I'm Vzlan and idk why the intro history of what influenced boricua cooking made me tear up and the little Puerto Rico map. So educational and so much effort put into this. Thank you so much YB. Have a wonderful day. đ„șđ
aww thank you for watching đ„ș
I'm so glad you enjoyed our food! Hope you're doing ok given everything going on. This video made my day!!

Pasteles â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž during the Christmas season, we always had a bag of them in the freezer ready to cook. So good :) Iâm glad you enjoyed our cuisine :)
Great job YB! You hit it right on the nose with all your descriptions đ”đ·đđŒâš
This video was a fantastic introduction to something I have always wanted to try but never had a chance. I'm so excited to try this now. Thanks YB & Herbert

I am so happy that you are showing so much love for Puerto Rico. Whenever I visit home I always have to get my rellenos de papa. Definitely one of my favorites.

hi YB! thank you so much for the message in the beginning and for linking information. I have a lot of family in Puerto Rico right and hurricanes are really devastating. It means a lot! Also, so glad you both liked the food! Monfongo and pasteles are some of my all time favorites! And I also donât love flan đŹđ
I hope they're doing okay :( what a bad month!!
and hahaha okay I'm not the only one đ€Ł
I'm Puerto Rican and we don't really get the plain monfongo, we always get it with pork or shrimp
yb: this could use more seasoning
herbert: fall, winter, spring
pls he's a keeper i'm so excited to see wedding pics when you guys get married (if you decide to post them, ofc)
LOL yes!
Loved this video! I love that you guys tried both street food and traditional foods đ making me miss my moms cooking đ„Čđ”đ·
I'd love to try homemade versions :(
Love watching people try our food itâs amazing đ”đ·
Thank you for raising awarness for my fellow boricuas and beautiful island â€đđœ
hope you and your family and friends are doing okay â€
I'm glad you enjoyed our food! And I'm more surprised that there are more comments on eating pasteles with ketchup (which I personally don't like), and less about the usual argument of Patelillos vs Empanadillas (cause people online say pastelillos, but I've never actually met anyone here in PR who calls it like that đ€š) đđđ
Hope you can try more of our food in the future! And thanks for bringing awareness for PR in the beginning!! â€â€
it was so great!! thank you â€â€
As a puertorican, thanks for trying our food! The majority of the dishes you've tried is planting based and majorly traditional (things we eat during the holidays). See if you can find some traditional and homemade coquito during Christmas, you'll love it!
Thank you for contributing to helping out Puerto Rico I only went there one time when I was living in the Virgin Islands with someone we went for a weekend and went to El Yunque rainforest and toLuquiloo beach and stayed at a small motel in the casino district and had the best sangria of my life I really hope Puerto Rico can come back from this disaster it is a beautiful place I hope to go there again someday

I can't imagine how you are feeling amidst all of this. â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž u r my fav food baby
You had two types of Puerto Rican Pasteles, one is made from Yuca which is the yellow one and the other is made with green bananas. Both are delicious. Cheers!â€
Thank you for highlighting our foods.
Thank you.
Since my second home is Germany have you done German food..I love it. If you have can you tell me which of you videos it was.
Thank you for sharing our culture. Restaurants do not always do our foods justice. There is nothing like homemade. Especially Alcapurias and pastelillos.Glad you enjoyed.
I've been watching your videos for a time now and I only noticed now that I'm not subscribed ughh love your personality
What a great video!
These videos are my favorite!
đ„°đ„°
Hi YB! Loved your video. Just so you know, as a puertorican, I recommend you and anyone who wants to try mofongo, to try eating it freshly cooked, while it is still hot. There's a difference in texture and even taste.
So happy to see you enjoy some of my personal favorites! Also looking forward to eating everything you just tried during the upcoming thanksgiving holiday with the fam :) As for cuisine suggestions- if thereâs anything I love just as much as Puerto Rican food, itâs probably Ethiopian cuisine. Iâm hoping thereâs one near you because itâs definitely worth a try!
P.S. you rocked the pronunciation and made this Puerto Rican girl proud â€ïž
the homemade version must be so amazing!! đđ
this was super fun and your pronounciation is great! sending love ~
đđ
Puerto Rican food is so yummy! Now Iâm hungry! â€
This vid definitely taught me a lot. I live much too far away to try but it all looks delicious.
they were so good, I hope you can visit LA (or Puerto Rico!!) and try it one day :)
YB!! Thank you for the cultural love!! I am Puerto Rican and I must give you all the kudos in the world for your pronunciations of the dishes. If you ever have mofongo again, try mofongo con camarones al ajillo (mofongo with shrimp garlic sauce). It is my absolute favorite way to eat mofongo. Another appetizer you should try is a sorullo. Sorullo is a cornmeal fritter that is filled with cheese.
yum!!
The food looks amazing.
