Seems like a decent trap, but I wonder if a mouse could chew through the plastic on the bottom. They might not be able to chew through the sides, but the might be able to chew through the little bins for food and water enough to allow them to get started on the floor.
not gonna happen. bigger issue is that house mice will not get caught. They are too smart.
One of the reviews on amazon confirmed this does happen, as two mice they caught escaped by chewing through the bottom
This is a super old design it's called a cricket carrier for going fishing I've had one for 30 years that same exact thing for use with live crickets from the bait store it even has the handle for hanging on a branch still attached

I'm trying a combo-trap. Same idea as this one but a water cooler bottle on its side, ~a cup of vegetable oil (swished around the neck area) left as a small pool on bottom, and some peanut butter in a Napkin Ball for added bait.
A brick is the platform to get it.
Caught one the 1st night.
Put out a 1 gallon vinegar jug today. Same set up. Not as much oil.
Just have block them from rolling.
We'll see on that one.

No, if they see another mouse in the trap they tend to feel safer going into it themselves

I have question for you. Have you ever tested motion activated lights for a mouse deterrent? I was camping down in Arizona at Christmas time. A lot of full time campers use motion activated lights under there vehicles at night saying it deters mice from getting in the engine area. They put the lights on the ground, lights from Harbor Freight.

I was relly hoping this would be better. There is no trap better than the Rinnetraps Flip N Slide bucket trap. I only go to Rinnetraps directly website, because my friend got one in the AZ place and received a knockoff instead.

Yeah really, it seems pretty good. I bought an expensive one and it should have worked good but it didn't it only picked up animals about 6 ft away so I gave up on them.

I started my 2nd car after it was sitting around for a few months. Moved it and when I got out I saw a mouse run away from the rear. A quick check and it had JUST started building a nest in the trunk. I got lucky that it didn't pee and poo everywhere.
I had to take it on a 600 mile trip a few days later, I was wondering if other mice would come out of hiding!
I live in a rural area, mice are so common. I constantly have traps out.

The only reason I would pay $10 is because I probably could make this myself although I do admit, this one looks pretty well made and what the heck if it's made in the United States and quality like this then why not give him 30 bucks : ) because it'll be no time that this will be copied and made like crap from some other countries. I love all the countries but darn it they really do tend to copy our stuff and make them like crap and send it back to us it's kind of annoying, haha.

Hmmmm.... at 1 mouse per night, even in a heavily infested place as yours is, I think I'd just set a snap trap or three and get better results.

all that trouble to catch only one mouse. For that a snap trap would have worked will less trouble

What stops the mice from chewing through the soft plastic bottom, or the soft plastic lid?
Do a review on the tomcat sticky traps. These seemed to work for me.
Not 100% sure, but I think he doesn't like or review glue traps

One advantage this trap has (for the mice caught in it) over an open topped, bucket-style live-catch trap is that rats are too big to get into it and devour the mice.

There are quite a few copycat versions out there. Be careful.
you have to make sure they're not cheap copies not all work as intended you should find the one Shawn actually recommends that's the good one which works fine maybe get one of those instead.
I have 4 of the flip and slide traps, two always get mice, and two do not. It matters where you put them.
Too bad they don’t make a larger version for rats.
