There is actually a thing called the butterfly method. If my memory doesn’t betray me on the name of the said method. Basically, you draw a butterfly in pen, doesn’t have to be big, or detailed. dont harm until the butterfly fades away, if it does, redraw it. and so If you self harm, you kill the butterfly. It’s worked for me, there’s other methods as well such as ice on the skin or drawing lines in red pen.
a more morbid (?) way of thinking is thinking of the butterfly as someone you care about, if you harm yourself you harm them.

Fun fact! I researched this because my friend once covered her leg in pen ink. You can’t get ink poisoning through skin! Only if you ingest it or it somehow gets inside your body,

It’s so sickeningly heart breaking just envisioning it, idk why I do it to myself.
