Nice demo, but he didn't really show broken color, apart from painting warm shadows. The key to broken color, IMO, is refraining from blending brushstrokes on the canvas. And training yourself to actually see the warm and cool colors in nature, not just guessing and hoping it looks OK.

I learnt so much from these videos and put it in use bit by bit when am painting. The fact that theres always another artist you always get these snipplets of wisdom from each one of them. Its like reading a book of great ideas and little tricks and advice from artists. Maybe there could be a book with these one liners from each artists. Am very grateful when artists share their expriences. Thank you so very much

You were going to supply a link to his brushes? They were watercolor brushes, wasnt Gavin painting in oils. What were the style and sizes of those brushes, you supplied manufacturers name in watercolor. Why I stop in? To listen and learn from your Guests, and frequently buy their video when at a savings. Always open to something new. Thanks for all you do, for those of us at home.

The free tips seems to require signup cancel at any time digital streaming program. Is that true? I have trouble remembering to cancel such things and start getting charged. Is there a way to get this free without signing up for automatic payments to something else?
I don't usually watch architecture paintings but watching Gavin paint in his imperfect way is quite interesting and I have enjoyed it.

Apart from the first layer, I don’t see him using broken colour. I’m only 28 minutes in, and have to stop watching; maybe he does broken colour later.
Disappointing that I didn’t learn much about broken colour.
I would have rather heard just the artist talking, erics talking was not necessary.
