Here's something you can do to get even with an obnoxious neighbor: send whatever CZcams video you're watching to their TV. Make sure that video is scary, disruptive, and coincidentally excessively noisy.
Most people aren't going to realize that you have commandeered their television by screen casting your phone or other portable device. To them, it will be like the channel got changed somehow.
I did this at a bar once, completely by accident and their TV started playing the video I was watching on my phone. No one was aware of what happened, as the sound was off. Up to that point, it had been playing an episode of Bones.
One time, I had a neighbor I didn't like, so I started making ghost noises in my bathroom. They were very religious, and moved out because they thought the place was haunted or possessed by demonic spirits.

    • @jamielawrence4749

haha yes.. The people who hate the neighbors who complain are selfish and want to pretend they don't share the earth with others.
I lived above someone once and was ALWAYS thinking about how to be quiet. I even checked outside to see if his car was there before I danced or did anything that might be loud. I never did any crazy late nights or blasted music. The dude was convinced I was tap dancing at night. (Um, I wasn't. Might have been my cat occasionally jumping onto the floor?). I literally tip toed most of the time because I knew he had complained. He keyed my car, he spit on my door once when I had a few friends over at like 7pm for dinner, and I was afraid of him and concerned but even THEN I didn't complain that he was complaining. I felt BADLY. I tried. Most people who complain about the "complaining neighbor" just don't try at all.

To be honest I am fine with normal living noises. I have no issues with my upstairs neighbors walking around, doing construction, having get-togethers, listening to music, talking, etc... They are good people. They always tone it down between 11pm-8am. Same with side neighbors.
HOWEVER the downstairs neighbors are the most egotistical, perverted, selfish pricks I've ever seen in our apartment complex. They purposely have insanely crude and loud s*x at 1am. Screaming, bellowing, slapping, moaning, crying, dirty talk, etc... They leave their balcony door and window open with the lights on and blinds open while they behave like beasts. It shakes the walls, it's ruining me and all the other neighbors sleep. They didn't respond to direct confrontation, notes and even banging the walls. So now I have a loudspeaker that I point down at them right against the floor so it goes straight to their bedroom. I insulate the rest of it so no noise escapes to any other neighbors. I play a variety of sounds, usually babies crying, angry chimpanzees, construction, extremely annoying frequencies, farting, etc... during their gorilla sessions. They bang on the ceiling to make us stop but I will absolutely not stop until they stfu and behave like semi-civil neighbors. They tried telling me that it's "not as enjoyable" if they can't be loud. So sorry to ruin your chimpfest but some people have jobs and need to sleep during the night hours. Buy a stand alone property or learn to have some basic respect for the people around you. I absolutely love ruining their s*x life while mine is absolutely amazing. There's such thing as having an awesome time in bed without sounding like a pair of deranged monkeys on drugs.

I’m starting to think people who need loudness need psych evaluations because I’m sorry, “it’s not enjoyable that way” with windows open and shades open screams weirdo ish. And that’s just one example. You are not ok in the head but everyone around should not have to pay for your mental illness.

I have had my fair share of noisy neighbors and one thing I have learned is that speaking to them rationally is pointless as they do not care. The only thing that works is mirror imaging their own behavior right back at them. If they are noise makers after 10PM well you legally have the right to create noise that disturbs them at 6 AM. Loud heavy metal music like Megadeath, Iron Maiden is really obnoxious and not most people's cup of tea. I placed my speakers on top of a bookshelf and staked books under them so the speakers were right up against the ceiling right under their bedroom. Then I placed pillows around the sides of the speakers so as to not bother me or my other neighbors and I would leave my apt. You can also find a a video of dogs barking that lasts 12 hrs on the internet and leave it on when you go to work. I never looked to see what else I could find but crying or screaming babies would also be annoying. Both will drive them insane. My sister did this to her neighbors and went on vacation for 3 weeks and left her stereo on playing the same CD over and over. When she got back home there was dead silence after that move. My niece left a porn movie playing over and over for her neighbors and that worked too. It has to be a really annoying repetitive sound and loud. I also happen to have a metal ceiling in my living room which is under my neighbors bedroom and I have often grabbed drum sticks I have had for decades, stood on a bar stool and played drums on my ceiling. Granted I did chip paint off the metal but a paint job fixed that issue. Imagine the neighbors however who were on the receiving end of that noise. Sometimes I did both at the same time...lol. It works like a charm I assure you. Some neighbors will need the occasional reminders and by all means dish it right back at them. The only way these people understand is when you disturb their sleep just like they disturb yours. If they have the audacity to come knocking at your door a simple... well you keep me from sleeping during quiet time hours....welcome to my world.... and slam your door in their face. Nothing else needs to be said. Oh and for legal purposes in case it ends up in court. Document everything.....what type of noise and the time frame. Notify your landlord of the issue and send them a weekly or bi-weekly log of the noise via email so it's in writing and make a copy of it. Judges LOVE that and will often yell at the landlord for not resolving the problem when you have documented proof of the house with dates and time frames. Video recordings also help in court. Check your state as all states have different rules. NYC has a quiet time from 10 PM to 6 AM Sun PM - Fri AM. 11 PM - 9 AM on Friday PM - Sun AM. There is also the 80/20% carpet rule. You can get a judge to enforce it making your tenants install carpeting. Know your rights and be prepared in case of a legal action. I have taken many a tenant to court and won every case.

Great solo as well. Lmao about slamming the cupboards. I've done this as well, where I make sure to slam them loudly a good few times. Every apartment neighbor I've ever had always SLAMS them shut for some reason, when in reality it takes almost no effort at all to close them quietly. I hate apartment living with a passion. Had it for 10 years, kids lives disrupted, school, work, all a mess because of such selfish behavior. Police come out sometimes 4 times a night. Got recordings of her so loud, youd think i was stood next to her. Council refused to do anything...finally after 10 years, we are leaving. Whatever type of noise they make, buy a quality bluetooth speaker place it on your ceiling and give it back to them constantly to drown out their nonsense. Going to management, taking them to court, etc. is rarely a solution. Once someone disrespects you and invades your privacy and right to peaceful dwelling where you live, get down off your high horse, abandon all moral codes and set out to make their lives 10x as miserable as they are trying to make yours. If I don’t have my headphones on, I feel nervous that it will happen again. So it’s like I’m dependent on them now until I can afford to buy a house. This is such an unhealthy thing to live with. From then on to s startling 2 YEARS of complaining to police and property management, nothing was done. I checked with the tenant right laws, and found that it is against their laws to make loud noises in the middle of the night.I consulted an attorney and asked what I could do. He said that if it is serious, I can withhold rent until it is taken care of by the management. I did this and they ignored it again. Constant stress and lack of sleep have caused a serious heart failure. This made me very upset, as I have always taken good care of myself. My advice. I have noisy neighbours.
DO NOT let it go thinking it will settle down. It doesn't.
I tolerated this for 8 months. The winter of hell.
Then they went too far. Bass music that sounded like a construction site.
I'm quiet. Live by myself and use headphones. Think of others etc....
    -
So, I started to use my speakers. Woppers with bass down to most people's hearing level.
I leave music on all day from 10-10. Very low volume. It's mainly to cover their noise and not retaliation. They do things out of spite. Nasty people and latest is 4am-5.30am!
Slamming doors and chucking things around. You can't sleep.
I've started 'rebounding'. Every slam gets one back. Doesn't stop it but makes you feel better. And every time they do it during the day....music up a notch. Very slight. I never get the amp past 1 and it's low powered. So still low level for background only.
White noise too. I use a dehumidifier and air cleaner. So the fans produce white noise.
    -
Other than that there is nothing you can do and in some countries like mine. The authorities don't do anything either.
    Some people are not good.
Oh....I almost forgot. I'm a retired bass player with a wopping rig. I've given them a shot and so they know I have it.
I think they re waiting for me to make too much noise and then they'll complain about me. So, Ive already complained to the council.
What can you do? ...........Nothing! and they know it.

They bang on the walls, slam doors, play loud music only when we sleep. When we are up they are quiet. These neighbours got other neighbours involved spreading lies and hatred towards us (we keep ourselves to ourselves). We live on the ground floor apartment the neighbour above, the neighbour on the left and the right (the one who’s jealous and racist of us) all these 3 neighbours get together & deprive us from sleep because they can’t take it when we go out they get so jealous when they see us happy as their lives are miserable. So when we are about to sleep, the above neighbour bangs every 30mins, the neighbour on the left slams doors every 20-30mins and puts his vibration machine on for an hour, the neighbour on the right blasts music so loud that we can feel the base going through our body Clearly shows their infested jealousy and negative thinking. In my situation every single tenant (3 so far) that have moved above me, have ignored the carpeting policy of the building. I'm compliant since my entire apartment is carpeted (except for the kitchen and bathroom). Not only is my entire apartment carpeted, but I also rarely drop anything on the floor and I'm very conscious about the weight I'm putting when I walk (stumping). I have tried to solve this via the management office (for many years) and by talking to the first two tenants and in my experience, not only this doesn't solve the problem, but it makes it worse since they seem to take offense (when I should be the offended one after years of interrupted sleep and peace). A year ago, I found a God sent ceiling noise machine and I can tell you that two months later, the second tenant couldn't take it and left. I've been trying not to use it with the current neighbor (since they don't wake me up at 3:30 a.m as the last neighbor did) but I'm starting to get a lot of sleepless nights (a lot of things being dropped, hard heel walking, furniture dragging and even stumping); All this because of the incompetent management office that doesn't have the guts to implement the building carpeting policies. Some people when they see the machine, they ask me "why use it, to annoy them?" I don't need to annoy anybody, but I do like treating others the way they treat me, so I basically try to give them back some of the vibration and percussion they send me through the walls, I think is only fair.

I used to have pianos, stereos, recording equipment, electric pianos, synthesizers, drums, guitars, amps, microphones, etc, but no longer, we had to downsize and we don’t even own a stereo or radio now.

I unconsciously grit my teeth so hard with all the stress from constant stomping and a 70 lb dog running back & forth, that I cracked a tooth. That will cost @ $1800 to repair.

I'm watching this before work, tired as hell because I was woken up at 4 fucking 30 this morning by loud downstairs neighbors music shaking my walls suddenly. It's like the guy stopped working, being a normal respectful 50 year old, got a gf and on roids [picked his package up for him once], and started playing music/fucking/fighting and playing games with the loudest possible surround sound. I'm not home often, so when I am home it's basically to sleep, eat, get ready. I have a vintage speaker that's pretty loud I could play while I'm gone at work.
Ultimately, I find it pretty damn disrespectful and might end up on the Fear Thy Neighbor show.

This. The bigger the speaker you play it from the better as it will extend lower in the bass and cover up the low frequencies.

A 10 inch subwoofer and play 4 hz pulsating sound. They won't hear where it comes from. You can just blaim it on someones else washing machine or construction work outside.

multi family homes and apartment buildings are just a recipe for conflict. You cant live your life and neither can your neighbor because you hear everything the other is doing and sometimes can even smell what they are smoking / cooking. maybe you want to do something a little loud for an hour on occasion but your neighbor upstairs is disturbed by it. You cant assume everyone has the same sleep schedule because some people work third shift and sleep during the day when you are awake.
the idea of sharing walls ceilings floors. etc is just not a good idea unless you are the very few people who are dead silent all the time which is almost impossible.

had a neighbor that constantly burned garbage, like toxic thick black grey smoke every other night. It smelled like burning rubber or sometimes bleach and made breathing difficult and eyes would burn. Fire department doesn't engage because they are confrontational and have a long history of problems with them. They burned like that even knowing one neighbor was going through treatment for throat cancer.
Most other neighbors are afraid of confronting the that neighbor and just deal with the constant issues.
Putting out 6 bluetooth speakers that very loudly play fire alarm sounds every time they burned worked for a while. They burn in a stove now which no better, so I guess we just wait until they die from some respiratory disease or the property/housing market crash so we can afford to move.

I call MY upstairs neighbor "the old crow," because she has the horrible dark hair with a grey streak down the very middle, she's short with piggy eyes and the beaky nose.
She's also a stomper, slammer, furniture dragger and loud music/tv player, day AND night.
The worse thing is that she's a cousin of the idiot woman who runs the building, so she gets away with everything. 😳

I like to record their rumblings and play it back at them with my strategically placed subwoofer turned up to 11. The room heats up very noticeably from all the sound energy and yet the calming effect only lasts for a week or so. Lately I complain every time in person, which weirdly triggers a total screaming frenzy on their side - it is good training to stay calm in stressful situations though. Hell surely is other people.

Hello, mate. I've been looking into subwoofers. Can they be turned on remotely? As in, if I'm at work on the night shift, could I turn on the subwoofer at the house? Also, can adults hear it or does it just make them ill?

    • @florianhofmann7553
      @florianhofmann7553 Před 11 měsíci

@@goodyeoman4534 Many subs have a standby mode, which makes them turn on only when a signal reaches them. You can use a PC to play certain files at a specified time using the "task scheduler" in Windows. Or you could use a remotely controllable app like Kodi to play files at home using your phone. There are also hours long videos on YT with random annoying noise. Constant noise will surely make people ill - it depends on the frequency if they can hear or only feel it. The threshold is often cited to be 20 Hz.
Giving them a taste of their own terror probably helps a bit but it also stresses innocent neighbours and occupies one's mind unduly. I have invested in 2 pairs of Bose II earbuds and a pillow with a hole for sleep and make use of my B&W noise cancelling headphones when needed during the day. The noise cancelling capabilties are truly impressive nowadays. Of course nobody should be forced to wear ANC headphones at home, but it prevents me from bashing their heads in.

I tried talking to my neighbors, leaving notes, etc… he won’t answer the door and just turns his tv up louder, he started doing his vacuuming at 6am (everyday), if I leave a note on his door he will walk down stairs and put it on my door. The front office can’t do anything other than email and call him (which they have to no response) and after 3 emails and 5 phone calls they told me they can’t continue because it would be legally considered harassment if they did.
This is an older white American dude we’re talking about here, so get this… I taped a speaker to my ceiling and started playing Daddy Yankee and Don Omar. Who would’ve known that this prick hates Spanish music… 😂
