I used to call a guy's dad Dean Malenko or Iceman and he would have no idea because he didn't follow pro wrestling at all. His son, who was a fan at the time agreed and laughed anytime it was mentioned. The dad over time looked it up himself and got a laugh at it lol. This guy was so serious all the time, had to meet him.
He wasn't the biggest. He wasn't the strongest. He didn't have the most intimidating look. He didn't have the best mic skills. But when you got in the ring with Malenko, get ready to go through a 15+ minute barn burner where you can't make a single wrong move; the man made wrestling a chess match.
Yeah. Once you hear that music, you better hope you did your homework and hope your trainer taught you a lot, because this is like your final test when it comes to actual technical wrestling.
Some people just cant appreciate whats great until well after the fact, I remember I tried to put all of my wrestling friends on to Dean back in the day, and they just wouldnt bite! Top 5 best technical wrestler all time.
Dean was so good man. I really hate that he didn’t do his career and end it the way he wanted. Cut way too short. Dean is in my top 4 in best technicians to ever grace a wrestling ring. So smooth in that 20x20
Loved the Iceman growing up watching WCW. His feud with Jericho was amazing. This was a smart, fast, calculating menace who'd fuck you up if you weren't careful! ❄️
Als Kind glitzerten meine Augen neben der nWo und zu Sting auch in Richtung Dean Malenko. Vielleicht werde ich im nächsten Leben Wrestler. Dean Malenko 💪🏻❤😊
I truly believe Dean Malenko is the greatest pure technical wrestler of all-time. Everyone has been influenced by him in one way or another. If he had the charisma or marketability of Bret Hart, he could've been a mega star.
I've been watching some of his matches lately, his match with Rey on Nitro after BATB 96 is phenomenal. Not the most charismatic guy, but a fantastic wrestler.
Probably biggest in ring like hero I want to wreslte just like malenko,he could sell very well, he was so technical and was just so badass here's to the shooter or the iceman but what ever you call him,he's Dean malenko. Just no body does it right anymore and I really plan to change that
What about me? What about Kanyon? Wait... This was awesome. Malenko is one of the greatest wrestlers I had the privilege watching growing up. So happy he's with AEW helping them grow!
Malenko The Man Of 100 Holds and The Iceman his theme definitely suited him I call it The Dictator's Theme when he walks to the ring with that cold menacing stare you know he means business he kind of favors Aaron Lewis of Staind but his set of skill and the bar he raises when he wrestled was unmatched his move set was awesome the Leaping Calf Kick,Gutbuster,German Suplex,Tiger Bomb,Texas Cloverleaf and the dropkick were amazing to the fullest and he could do it with perfection and precision truly a remarkable athlete with the Tough As Nails attitude 🤼💪👍👌✌️💯
"The Man With a 1000 Holds" Dean "The Iceman" Malenko he was a member of The 4 Horsemen along with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Steve "Mango" McMichael and Chris Benoit and also the Radicalz along with Eddie Guerrero, Perry Satrun and Chris Benoit and ladies and gentlemen Dean Malenko is living with the Parkinson disease let's see his accomplishments: Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship 2-time ECW World Television Championship ECW World Tag Team Championship 2015 Hardcore Hall of Fame ICWA Light Heavyweight Championship 4-time WCW Cruiserweight Championship WCW United States Championship WCW World Tag Team Championship 2-time WWE Light Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho: He Boring like his dad, Boris. The man of 1,000/1,004 holds. I have made a list. Move #1: Armbar... Move #2: Armbar... Move #3: Headlock.. Move #4: Chinlock.. Move #5: Snapmare. Move #6: Fruit Roll Up
The man of a thousand holds in WCW that also had multiple WCW U.S. Heavyweight Championship and WCW World Cruiserweight title reigns to a fucking WWF Light Heavyweight Champion that would get pushed around by Chyna and Lita etc, he was wasted in the WWE. Pretty sad
dean never got the credit he deserved, he was a beast!
I used to twist my wrist in middle school and still to this day like Dean malenko 😂😂
I have malenko's theme song in my head with his entrance walk when i go to the supermarket
Lmao thanks for the laugh during these difficult times.
especially during the pandemic
@Jermaine Vanorden because you're afraid of the herpes?
@Jermaine Vanorden ah ha I had a friend who played a Nine Inch Nail song before screwing a girl he knew. You know that one lol
Lmao

That’s funny😂
Dean, Eddie, Benoit, Mysterio, Jericho. That was MY wcw.
Correctly 😌
Amen!
It’s actually a banger bro
Yeah. Once you hear that music, you better hope you did your homework and hope your trainer taught you a lot, because this is like your final test when it comes to actual technical wrestling.
I always loved how crisp and how smooth Dean Malenko's moves looked...Everything looked high-impact but so technical; it's amazing
Dean was so intense, serious, and no nonsense. Like a wrestling marine.
Like Craig Pittman??? 😂😂😂
The cruiserweight division at this time was the best one! It was so much competition you couldn't predict who was going to win!
Every cruiserweight on the roster during that era was on point. Especially the luchadors.
Underrated talent
The Iceman. Truly one of a kind. Probably my favorite in-ring performer. He was among the elite. One of the greatest cruiserweight champs of all time.
One of the best technical wrestlers ever. Was nice to see him at AEW Full Gear yesterday
The man was a master technician
He is a underrated technical wrestler
The Man of 1000 Holds!!!
This sounds like something out of Goldeneye 007 on N64
I always loved how pissed he got when Jericho called him Stinko Malenko 😂
This guy was great in the ring!
Some people just cant appreciate whats great until well after the fact, I remember I tried to put all of my wrestling friends on to Dean back in the day, and they just wouldnt bite! Top 5 best technical wrestler all time.
Agreed,he was also dominant during the Cruiserweight Division in 1996. When you hear that music you know things were about to get real.
He should have world heavyweight championship
Loved his theme
This theme was perfect for him
It's like a final boss theme when you face him in the cruiserweight division.
Dean was so good man. I really hate that he didn’t do his career and end it the way he wanted. Cut way too short. Dean is in my top 4 in best technicians to ever grace a wrestling ring. So smooth in that 20x20
One of the best technical but underrated wrestler
One of the most badass themes of all time. And just perfect for Dean.
You already know when that theme hit the man of 1000 holds was coming to put someone in the Texas Cloverleaf!
@@martrotter4792 shills every damn time!
Dean Malenko the man of 1000 holds! I always liked that title!
Loved the Iceman growing up watching WCW. His feud with Jericho was amazing. This was a smart, fast, calculating menace who'd fuck you up if you weren't careful! ❄️
Dean Malenko was an amazing wrestler. His moves looked high impact while being very crisp.
I liked Malenko because he was serious and not cartoonish like some of the others. He also had a lot of great moves.
WCW had a way of making good, hard working wrestlers into stars. A guy like Malenko would have little chance to shine in 2022
Final Boss music. Welcome to the infantry space marines.
He is so underrated.. But he win PWI number 1 greatest wrestler of all time
Of the year* It was 96 if memory serves.
He was also US Heavyweight
97 was the year he was number one
Malenko had the best dropkick, guy used to seriously get up there. I just realized how this song sounds like an Imperial Army on a death march.
Dean man of a thousand holds tru Wcw legend one of my favorite Wcw wrestlers
One of the coolest wrestling themes ever. It feels slightly like a more modern interpretation of Holst’s Mars theme from the Planets for some reason.
He was always one of my favourite wrestlers! Tons of skill, no charisma!
Als Kind glitzerten meine Augen neben der nWo und zu Sting auch in Richtung Dean Malenko. Vielleicht werde ich im nächsten Leben Wrestler. Dean Malenko 💪🏻❤😊
This has been said before but damn Bruce Willis was one tough wrestler.
I could watch bret hart, benoit, and malenko matches all day long...That is what wrestling is all about
He was an amazing crusierweight.
Popularity aside Dean Malenko is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he could do it all in the squared circle.
Malenko reminds me of Ronnie Garvin and Chris Benoit all rolled in one he should have gotten a US Heavyweight title run in W.C.W.
He did get a US Title Run.... when he was Voted # 1 on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated 500 the cover pic was him w/US Title
Dean was fine and still is ❤
1 of THE coldest themes ever!
I approach my exams like Dean Malenko approaches the ring!
He was a heck of a wrestler the iceman dean malenko i was one of his biggest fans I can’t remember ever seeing this man smile
The song that started a lot of WCW ppvs
This is a really good piece of music. Prog inspired, and it was perfect for Malenko because he was a highly skilled wrestler.
Hearing Dusty Rhodes in my head screaming Malenko & The Texas Cloverleaf
ONE OF THE GREATEST CRUISEERWEIGHT CHAMPS IN WCW HISTORY
he was the modern day Lou Thesz
This man should be in HOF already

I truly believe Dean Malenko is the greatest pure technical wrestler of all-time. Everyone has been influenced by him in one way or another. If he had the charisma or marketability of Bret Hart, he could've been a mega star.

The technical cruiserweight is a lost art
The iceman of 1000 holds
I've been watching some of his matches lately, his match with Rey on Nitro after BATB 96 is phenomenal. Not the most charismatic guy, but a fantastic wrestler.
Him vs. Eddie Guerrero got a standing ovation at a WCW house show I went to back in 1996. It was absolutely amazing.
Probably biggest in ring like hero I want to wreslte just like malenko,he could sell very well, he was so technical and was just so badass here's to the shooter or the iceman but what ever you call him,he's Dean malenko. Just no body does it right anymore and I really plan to change that

The man of a thousand holds the Iceman Dean malenko. Son of the great Boris malenko. This guy should have had a better run in WWE.
Jim Cornette and Dean Malenko in WCW would have been a good combination.

I wonder why he was never wcw champion. Very underrated

Pretty sad

Final fantasy opening credit
Such a menacing theme for someone 5'1". lol
He's 5'8". Average is 5'10". Standard deviation is 2.5". So he's average.
