I believe that it is fixed. I'm optimistic. I watched bunches of youtube videos on how to diagnose and fix the problem. I didn't see any obvious hoses broken or clamps loose. So, I started with getting a new OEM gas cap. The gasket on the old gas cap was pretty brittle. Unfortunately, the code came back in about 90 miles or so. At some point, I noticed that the filler tube where the gas cap screws on was rusty, and not smooth. I thought maybe that gasket on the cap wasn't sealing properly. So, I got some #00 fine steel wool and buffed most of the rust off, and smoothed the surface where the gasket hits. It is now nice and shinny. I put a cloth over the gas hole so no particles would fall in. This seems to have fixed the problem. I reset the code on October 14 and have driven 634 miles. I've had no further check engine lights. I scanned the car today to answer your question, and PASS: No Codes Found. I've also put gas in three or four times...maybe 10 gallons each. I'm thinking that the small leak was between the gas cap gasket and the filler tube. Hope this helps.

Lame. Erasing the code doesn’t fix the problem. Waste of time watching the video
