GAMDIAS Hermes E3 Mechanical Keyboard Review | Simple, but Limited

The Hermes E3 by GAMDIAS is an upcoming 60% budget RGB mechanical keyboard. However, at it's MSRP of $50, it's difficult to recommend due to strong competitors. But if you're able to secure the Hermes E3 for cheaper, or perhaps you're in a market with limited options, then the Hermes E3 is a fine option if you want a simple mechanical keyboard. OK for anyone who wants to make the colors on this keyboard static or like a singular color with a specific effect, what you have to do is select whichever effect you want using
FN2+9 and then using FN+Home /End to cycle between the various color options.
As for how I found this out.. well it was an accident :p

Great video! I do agree that a lot of manufacturers would do better with a more minimalistic approach to legends. Like the MT3 2048. Although it's nice to see how keyboards have gotten better at that low price range!

Hi. How do we use the function keys? F1 - F12. I tried a combo of [FN1 + Function] and also [FN2 + Function] with no luck. Any tips?

FN1 + 1, 2, 3, etc. should let you use the function keys

Gk61 if you want the flexibility of hotswap switches (altho only for optical switches)

Can I replace it's base with a metallic made instead of plastic like an upgrade

First you'll have to make sure the mounting points on the plate matches with the mounting points on the metallic case. Second, you'll have to make sure the plate on the E3 is a standard 60% size, which it seems like it is but I don't have a aftermarket 60% case to compare.

Any keycaps (just don't buy keycap sets for Topre or anything weird like that, standard MX stem). It's a standard 60% layout so basically any set you buy will fit it. Buy shine-through keycaps if you want to take full advantage of the backlit keys.

Can I change the RGB to complete white????

Good to hear! I haven't found a way to make the lights completely white.

Change the keyboard lighting to static mode and Press FN1 + ] or FN1 + [ to switch between colors. You would be able to get the white color.

Great review, This keyboard is not that good at that price tbh, 1. Keycap font looks horrible not even mentioning the space bar, 2. Non Hotswap , super ratley stabs.
