I specifically remember when he first got the golden buzzer, people doubted if it was deserved, myself included. But I am so completely glad that I was proven wrong in the live shows. He was utterly incredible, and is still my favourite winner to this day. Looking back on it now, I’ve never seen someone so perfectly capture the heart of a nation, especially in the context of such a difficult year of lockdown for so many people. A brilliant performer, and his win was well deserved.
