I agree. I did enjoy this season but I felt a little sad at the end that we didn’t get more happy Penelope and Colin moments. I generally just wanted more time with them. Thanks for doing these reaction videos! They were so much fun to watch.

Colin's romantic speech at the end is my favorite of all the impassioned romantic speeches in the show. "I burn for you" is passionate but what Colin said true love. He basically acknowledged that he was jealous and that her success initially threatened his masculinity but he realized that was dumb. That loving her and supporting her is all he needs to be fulfilled. There were so many complicated dynamics with the Polin hurdles this season and we barely got to touch on many of them. It feels like they were edging important conversations.
A good example of how they did this in the past was in season 1 between Daphne and Eloise. Eloise felt crushed under the patriarchy and was struggling with her limited place in the world. Daphne fully recognized the unfairness of the patriarchy but was determined to do her best to thrive within the set conditions. Eloise often interpreted this practicality as ignorance or complicity and lashed out. Eventually, they were able to find common ground and acknowledge that they were both two young women trying to find their way and both had valid ways of being. It's a familiar conversation even today. That argument happened throughout the entire season and was subtle enough that lots of people don't even talk about it. It was just so beautifully baked into everything else that was happening but was also developed thoroughly.
So many of those important gender conversations in S3 were left barely developed. They didn't even need to be more explicit, they just needed more Polin story air time to be weaved into. However, the actual topics they touched on were my favorites which is why despite the downsides, I really like season 3.

I actually agree with your opinion, the side plot was great but just not related to the main couple and Colin and Penelope just felt kinda like side characters.. I still love this season.. could it be better? 100%. I have mix feeling about it either, but mostly positives

💔 the chest pain I feel when someone is enjoying instrumental 'yellow' so much that they close their eyes during my favorite part of nearly the whole season 🗡️ put otherwise, classically great reaction so far. You really had to edit out a lot and I think you did an good job

4:28 yes you would think if an author gives you positive feedback on your writing it would mean more. But from an ego perspective, for colin its the difference between his girl who likes books looking up to him and his great writing skills. And an actual published author looking down trying to motivate the amateur writer into being remotely at her level. Big difference to colin.

I do like that there is not a main plot.
I do wish the "Benedict" season has a better story than in his one this season.
All the best from the Netherlands!

Actually most the reviews are positive. The negativity is just louder. Season 3 is rated higher than seasons one and two.
