The tribal art of hay cooking is a dying art, but something that Chef Ranveer always wanted to try his hand at. First, he begins with going crab-hunting with Salvadore, an experience that was on his bucket list for a long time. Along with the crabs he has also sourced some fresh mackerel from a fisherwoman while gliding down the river in a boat. Also in his shopping bag are oysters. The ones found in Goa are usually clumped up together but Ranveer manages to find some single ones. The crab and fish are left to cook slowly in the hay while he makes an oyster coconut curry with some razor clams mixed into it. Oysters and coconut is a very Goan combination. He has another ace up his sleeve- a prawns sauté cooked with Bottle Masala, a speciality of the East Indian community. The masala is an interesting mix of unusual ingredients; khus-khus, chana dal, wheat, fennel, chilies, sesame and kebab chini just to name a few. A mouthwatering meal is on the menu, tribal style.

I am a konkani. I remember my childhood my mom used to roast in koyla Nd the taste is unbelievable. Even the chote dry prawns chutney.
We still follow this today also.

Food is the only things for which whole world strives for and works day and night. though i am not professional but i love making food and trying new receipes, love and enjoy cooking. I always say food is first cooked in mind and than in pot, need to say that if you know the specific tastes of spices, amount of heat, method of cooking, you can imagine the end result of the dish cooked, and i say it will be wonderful. Dear Ranveer, In our village in the paddy fields the very very small crabs are cooked in the embers of the wooden fire. Jaise ki hum potato ya brinjal roast karte hein aur ke shell/khaal utaar kar lehsun aur roasted/ tali huyi dried red chilli ke saath chutni banaate hain.

It has not stopped in north malabar as every house has two kitchens One electronic and the other non smoky wood fire place. Tradition is still alive even today . Mussles should be boiled and then opened to clean .That's the technic.They have different names ,kaka,kalamakai and ,muru All r different in colour ,size and shape. All r shell fish 🐟.

Yes the way of cooking is actually cook in jharkhand .mainly tribal people. no more masala little bit oil and salt just enough . And weekly market just try their nonveg,that cooked by local people with very simple way it's a awesome. You can't get in city. it only found in villege market .

जब मैं छोटा था तब गांव के पोखरे से ये जो आप दिखा रहे है उनको पकड़ कर लता था और 2 ,3 दिनो तक धूप में सूखते थे । वो अपने आप ही खुल जाता था । फिर अम्मा उसको पत्थर पर रगड़ कर बीच में छेद करती थी, और उसके बाद ये एक सब्जियों को छिलने का औजार बन जाता था। तब मुझे नही पता था की इसे खाया भी जाता है और हां हम लोग इसे शिप कहते थे,
