One of the best parts of the 1.0 release for me was how most builds are usually 4 zoners max. I've been playing around with different builds and I almost always end up with 4 zones whereas in Early Access, even just having 4 specific items requires you to loot 5 zones. The changes to the loot distribution and loot amounts per zone was really wonderful!
it has been really nice! removing accessories has made routing so much easier as well
Thanks for the data. As a new player I didn't know about weapon mastery 30 hours into the game. I saw the xp pop up but didn't know what it was related to.
One thing I haven't taken the time to research is purple box and battlezone timings, often I'm there wondering when it's going to pop, it's not very clear.
And a basic thing that is not taught properly is how to get wards, if you never click on a bat you'd never know.
i might go through the tutorial again at some point and see what they've missed so that i can summarize them. it's kind of odd that they dont at least have an optional tutorial to guide you through everything, but i guess they were busy with making release smooth
Most of my routes I try to do 3 zones or 3 zones with 1 item left to either buy them or ask a teammate to get them for me so when I group I can finish my build.
Sometimes you have to build something not optimal for early game but its fine, if you are fast enough, you can compensate with getting more food and weapon mastery. (you can also choose to change the bad item first for your legendaries)
asking teammates to grab stuff for you is a really underrated tactic! im hoping that the more developed the game becomes, the more we see these type of optimizations become
it is also pretty nice to just have a slot that you know is going to be upgraded, especially with the kiosk now letting you consistently get those upgrades
Bran really tempting me to come back. Its been months
maybe its time..
Really useful video, gonna use this for sure. But I wonder, are 4 zoner builds really viable? Any time I am playing anything that's 4 zones (or more) I end up being griefed a lot of the time, even if you do go fast. 4 zone build still has a lot of walking, even if just to teleporters, and especially if you don't find everything in 1 loot cluster which can happen in the more popular zones, or just if you are unlucky, then the whole thing falls apart from my experience. And then you finish your build super late. I've made a promise to myself to never play any 4+ zone builds again, they are just horrible, almost always. I'd rather play a slightly sub optimal 3 zone or 2 zone than get griefed early on. I guess it all depends on luck.
im glad to hear that itll help!
3zone builds have a tendency to require untouched loot zones due to how much more “efficient” they are with items. while they might be ~15 seconds faster on a perfect run, you’ll have many more games where you whiff things and are forced to walk somewhere else
another reason why your 4zoners might feel bad is because they might be asking you to loot a popular fairly late. a great example of this is piano wire from uptown if 6 people started there, or paper from chapel if you’re going there last. this ends up being mostly routing knowledge and experience, so it’ll get easier to adapt as you play
@@myaaniflakes yeah actually that sounds about right with the 3 zone builds. can't even trust those. we working our way down to 2 zoners now (at least i'm gonna be trying eventually) also the piano wire part is especially true D:
would it be a viable thing to just, reverse the looting order, so you start in the most contested areas like uptown or alley and finish in the less contested areas? but that could also inventory boom you if you don't get the materials you need to fully craft items.
aaaaagh
