Prologue and Ending for Rolento in Ultra Street Fighter IV.
The digital upgrade versions of Ultra Street Fighter IV will release across Europe on June 4th for PSN (PlayStation 3) and XBLA (Xbox 360)*. On August 5th, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 retail versions will be in stores, with the full digital bundles available for download then too. Both the digital upgrade and full digital bundle for PC (Steam) will be out on August 8th.
Players who pre-order the digital upgrade of Ultra Street Fighter IV on European PSN or the full retail version at select retailers will receive the 2014 Challengers Costume Pack, consisting of alternate costumes for each of the five new characters for free. The five new costumes include: Jungle Elena, Medieval Hugo, Pirate Poison, Wizard Rolento and Gladiator Decapre. The pre-order program officially kicks off today, so be sure to check out the alternate costume character art and new trailer here!
In Ultra Street Fighter IV, Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento and Decapre join the fight, complete with new animations and their own unique play styles, bringing the final roster count to a massive 44 characters. Six new battle environments (including Pitstop 109, Cosmic Elevator, Half Pipe and more) provide a thrilling and colorful backdrop to the action. Direct fan feedback was gathered on all of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition's original 39 characters and core system mechanics in order to achieve the most balanced Street Fighter ever. In addition to the action-packed new content and the finely-tuned rebalanced gameplay, the new version features a host of new features and modes that are sure to test even the most well traveled world warrior.
PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC owners of Super Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will be able to download Ultra Street Fighter IV as a €14.99 / £11.99 digital upgrade. The full digital bundle for PC is priced at €29.99 / £19.99 and console users can purchase the retail version or download the full version of the game for €29.99 / £19.99 Players who purchase the retail versions (PS3, Xbox 360) or full digital bundles (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) will receive all previously released costumes for the series, making this the definitive version of Street Fighter IV!

In response Rolento being a bad guy or not we should consider his end goal. He desires a Utopia in which people can live their dreams while remaining disciplined in a military fashion, basically a nation that believes, "Do what you wish as long as it does not harm others or impede their dreams." A noble, if impossible sentiment. As freedom is a lie and the idea of it instills chaos and death, it would be impossible for his Utopia to exist because even when presented with the opportunity, he still refuses to enslave peoples minds for that is not how he wants his Utopia. And while he has done many distasteful in the name of gaining his Utopia, I believe he is more of what most people consider good than evil.That is, if you believe the ends justify the means.

+Rat Meister "Freedom is a lie?" Sartre would have words for you but aside from that, agreed. Rolento is not in it for himself, there is a belief to his actions beyond simple greed. I don't think that makes him a hero by any stretch but he's certainly got more scruples than either Seth or Bison.
Consider his Alpha 3 ending, in which he destroys the Psycho Drive because "It's foolish to try to control a nation by brain-washing people!"

I'm 2 years late to the party here, sorry, but the VA is Dameon Clarke who did Cell and Handsome Jack from Borderlands. His voice always sounds like that, it was just a bad cast from capcom.
Rolento is one of those strange characters that's very unique.
A true soldier's soldier, he thrives on military discipline and the warrior's life. Disilluisoned with governments after the Vietnam war, he becomes a mercenary for Mad Gear Gang in Final Fight One and Two as he believes in removing corrupt politics and in the value of strict governance and discipline that he believes Mad Gear might bring about if he joins them. Sounds like an anti-villian or perhaps the making of an anti-hero.
A top notch combatant, the only thing he's better at than fighting is training and leading soldiers. His ability to create excellent soldiers, inspire them and use strategy to his advantage.
The more unique part?... The guy is a freakin' maniac. A fanatic who's fighting style matches his eccentric personality. A mix of ninja-like agility, freakin' GRENADES, throwing knives, a metal wire and a thick, heavy freakin' stick. But it works for him! If I had to name his fighting style, it would be "controlled chaos". He wants to create a total military nation.
And he just might do it one day, if we're not careful.
And yet... he opposed M. Bison because of his dictatorship. Blew up the Psycho Drive because it brainwashes people, as Rolento believes free will and the right to choose are pretty much sacred. He wants a nation of soldiers that WILLFULLY are loyal, not forced into it. He admires Cody and Ryu from Final Fight even though they were rivals and Rolento was actually disappointed to see Cody's fall. Rolento admires Guile as the ideal soldier and rather than want them killed, Rolento wants them to join him in his cause.
What do you call that? Lawful Neutral? Chaotic Good?
....It's just freakin' Rolento. He's a nutcase, a wild card in any conflict. He's a DANGEROUS nutcase, the kind that is there to kick ass and take names, with an army of disciplined, loyal and well-trained troops that he commands quite well and that he leads from the front.
If he doesn't wreck the world in his effort to save it, he just might save it.

Hmm... Can't tell if Rolento is good or bad here. You could say that in SF x TK that while he was full of himself, it was thanks to him that nothing bad happened to him or Ibuki during the ending. Here, it is hard to say since they are specifically targeting SIN directly, but doing it for enhancements to use in battle and he does techically blow Seth to bits.
To be fair, Seth (while hardly as evil as M Bison) is entirely apathetic, impossible to be reasoned with, powerful, and wishes to control the entire world. Very few characters would have voted against killing him. Oh, and i'd say that Rolento is a lawful neutral type. A light shade of grey, to be precise.

He's a more cartoony and hammy version of Big Boss from Metal Gear. He wants a utopian nation for soliders, but will stomp out any weakness in said utopia. He wants discipline and undying loyalty, but abhors the thought of using literal brainwashing via things like Bison's Psycho Drive. He was in two iterations of the criminal Mad Gear gang, but is utterly disappointed and disgusted at seeing Cody become a criminal.
His morality is all over the place, his sanity is questionable, but he is firmly and comfortably in the neutral box.

It fits more for a GI-Joe.
*Two:* his soldiers looks nothing alike the terrorists he was using in Street Fighter Alpha/Zero (the same from Final Fight).
*Three:* yes Rolento, granades totally works like that: you can trow a dozen 5 feet from your face and you will be ok... because granades ONLY explode in a wall of fire that automatically aim your enemy.

BETMARKonTube Putting that aside I pretty much agree with all of your points, although Seth was probably weakened beyond repair by that point so that would explain why he gets destroyed by mere grenades.
We also don't know if Rolento jumps back before the grenades blow up but whatever, we know those are some really weird grenades anyway :P
In Alpha I assumed he had a french or Italian accent given his beret and the way he grunted. I'm pretty disappointed he has the voice of a generic American G.I. Oh well there's always Japanese.....
