My 306th. I bought me a present , 12 watercolor pencils. Didn't used them, but this will be an opportunity to do it . Thanks 😊wim
Cute chickens and ducks 🐔🐓🦆👍💗
Thank you so much!
Thank you for an informative and fun video. You've inspired me to pull out my watercolor pencils and start experimenting.
Wonderful! They are quite liberating in a funny sort of way!
Wow fantastic chicken and duck drawing 👍👍
My father has chicken
Thank you! Glad you like it! Give it a try, they’re not as hard as you might think!
Wonderful sketches! This was fun.
Thank you Eileen! Watercolour pencils - for the days when you can’t think what to do with your paintbox!
I can’t wait to try this. I have the same watercolor pencils too. What makes these cuts es special is the black pencil which I also have. Thanks so much!
Wow, definitely going to give this a try ❤️
Please do! Happy Painting!
it must have been a wonderful moment when you found the pencils and so carefully taken care of by your daughter.....all the memories........thanks for sharing this
YES!
Thank you so much 😀 We have had many a chuckle over the fact that she has carried them round the world, and yet the number of times she's used them can be counted easily on two hands... yet she is an artist in her soul, she just hasn't let it out quite yet! Soon!
Been using WC pencils to scetch the design. Don't have to be concerned about pencil marks. ❤ Thank you for showing WC pencil techniques
My pleasure 😊 and yes, that’s a good idea. I should do it more often!
Absolutely LOVE this!! I can't wait to try it. Thanks so much for the wonderful tutorial!
Thank you Trina so much for your feedback! I’m going to have to try it on flowers next! I think you’ll find it’s fun, so good luck and happy painting!
Just started doing watercolor.. haven’t done much with pencils so will give this a try! Thank you for this tutorial.
I’m really excited by this addition to the water colour arsenal! They are perfect if you want to do a quick sketch before you embark on a painting so you can get your tones and composition right, and of course they are wonderful for sketches in their own right - with the addition of water they become watercolours worthy of the name!
Loved this! Thank you. I bought a dozen Caran D’ache Museum Aquarelle watercolour pencils years ago on a whim and rarely use them. Now I can get them out and have a go using your great tutorial!
Excellent Michelle! I always feel sorry for my seldom used art supplies sitting languishing sadly in a drawer and never seeing the light of day! Hopefully your box of pencils will be glad to come out and make you happy!
nice one
Thanks so much Sue.
I have loved crayons since early childhood! I have hundreds, in cigar boxes and tin boxes. There are also water-colourable ones from Farber-Castel. Simply fantastic, one of the best inventions ever :D
Yes, I’ve got quite a collection too but nothing like this wonderful set that my daughter has carefully looked after all her adult life! It’s travelled with us around the world and yet still looks like new! She is very brave to let me get my hands on it! I will wear those pencils down!
@@DianeAntoneStudio She doesn't have to be brave. In whose hands could they be more right than in yours? Your daughter knows that too. She has kept the pens all her life because they are special and important to her. She must have kept them to give them back to you at the right time. A pencil wears out, yes, but it doesn't die. It changes its form of existence. Everything that was in the pen is then on the paper. Your daughter and you are very wise to hold your hands over old things and keep them. Old but gold. Old things have a soul and tell stories. So do these pens, which tell their story through your hands on the paper.
@@rabenschwartz Tamsin here, Diane’s daughter... You’re absolutely right! That’s exactly what I was thinking, and you’ve expressed it beautifully poetically. Thank you 🙏 xx
@@fromthegarden Hi tamsin, nice to meet you.... Your thoughts flew through the ether and I caught them - thank you too :) :)
@@rabenschwartz Hi Sylvia, I just wanted to say thank you for the lovely message you sent via mum a few days ago!
Hi when using water colour pencils what’s the best paper to use and when adding water will you still see some lines of the pencils or should most dissolve in the water..
Hi and thanks for the question. I just used normal watercolour cold pressed paper with a light grain, not too toothy. And yes, when you add water the pencil marks just fade right back, and don't show half as much as the graphite pencil marks do. Sometimes I like the look of graphite pencil on a watercolour, but not always, so this is a good option.
I saw another duck tutorial and you have not given these the proper bill. They need to be rounded...like Jemima Puddleduck! But, I do love chickens, as I have a very small flock. I am surprised how often I draw or paint them.
