dear Pam, if you ever read this...I watched the movie without knowing the story behind it.
It was a big news for us in Slovenia though, when Naomi was here.
Less then a year ago, I lost my 2 year old son in a tragic accident, leaving our world shattered and our hearts black. Our 6 year old boy gives us strength to carry on.
I was so touched by your story.. and I admire your strength and courage...and it gives me a real life example of where me and my wife want to be some day in our process of grief.
Thank you for letting your story be told, Pam, and thank you, Naomi, for telling it.

I am deaf man and mild cerebral palsy. I watched the submit English on movie. It made me wept. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I was around 23 years old. It was rare very cold and damp at 20 temperature. You know that I hate to work 3rd shift at 10:30 PM to 6:15 AM. I told my supervisor I want to go home at 300AM He said OK I drove my car. I still sleep in my car I hurried home about 10 miles. But I had to slapped my face at myself. I arrived her house. When I open at door. I smell strong gas in her house. I waked up my mother. I hardly waked up her. I decided to pick her go out of house. Her eyes open. I put her blanket. I saw turn on gas no fire and checked up stove gas no fire. I turned off every gas. Then I turned on big fan, I told her she left to turn on gas. I saved my mother's life. My mother passed away at 69 aged. She had cancer. I was 32 years old. I am 67 years old right now.

Pain of losing children or someone you love greatly never goes away, but knowing that they went to a beautiful place and they left you with loving memories helps with the healing. You saving a man's life is the gift your little girls gave you to help you overcome the great pain that you were going through. It also gave John the awareness of wanting to live and help him process his suffering. They ( your beautiful girls) communicated with you through that wonderful experience of compassion and love for another human-being. Their way of saying that they are watching over you. A beautiful move.

Just watched the film. Extremely moving, a great story. Naomi Watts did justice to Pam’s story. And Pam’s story has something for all of us.

You know when someone has lost the complete will to live. When someone still has the fight in them is when you don't turn your back. It may be easy for some to not look back when they chose to not help, but for others they are haunted. It comes down to what can you live with in the end.

@@catherinehicks8771 Listen to me. I live here not 20 miles from The Rock. I am a two time Appalachian Trail thru hiker and have spent 14 years photographing the Whites.
Mt Washington? Is one of the DEADLIEST small mountains in the world. Hundreds have died on the Rock and Northern Presidentials cause of their own stupidity
Each trailhead up the mt? Have HUGE warning signs. This is a DEADLY MOUNTAIN, people have died here. At the first sign of bad weather TURN BACK,do not risk your life.
The minute she heard that thunder? She should have immediately turned back. Once the blizzard starting hitting? She definitely should have turned back. The idiot guy? Hiking in sneakers? Really??? In winter? Heck you do not hike in summer up to the Rock in sneakers.
She gets absolutely NO RESPECT FROM ME. She is damn lucky along with that guy not to end up in the third edition of Not Without Peril

@@franklaferriere5754 the guy in sneakers was on a suicide mission.

@@catherinehicks8771 We have that a lot. Two women did the same last winter. But my words about Pam remains. Look she even knows, even during the summer? It can be sunny and 85 at the base and actual blizzard conditions on top.
Mt Washington held the highest recorded wind speed at 231 mph and the Rock typically hits 50+ mph winds even 100+ mph winds. Three weather systems meet there.
She put herself in danger along with a rescue team who would have had to save her.
I have no respect for her. Oh and I would also say this to any man who did what she did. Again? She is Pemi Rescue, she should have known better.
Read the books Not Without Peril, both of them. You might understand why what she did ticks me off so much.

@@franklaferriere5754 ok ok you have made your point. you certainly are an experienced hiker. btw when someone starts off with listen to me, i think narcissist. and then capitalizing no respect......narcissist for sure. just had to be said frank.
