This is England is among the greatest British movies of all time, well worth a watch. The scene shown in this footage with them all sitting under the bridge was shot on the Lenton housing estate in Nottingham, and the cafe scenes were shot in what was the vegan Crocus Cafe directly opposite the Housing Office in Lenton. My ex-girlfriend lived with Smell's (Rosamund's) parents - the Hansons, who made possibly the most expensive nightwear on Earth - and Thomas Turgoose was a guest at an event at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford, curated by my ex-fiance's younger brother. What can I say, this is a small country. 😂

The original of the Wicker Man got a middling reception when it was released, but it's become a cult classic and is a must-see. And yes, there were references and in-jokes in Hot Fuzz to both it and a lot of other British movies. Sadly, you're wrong about George Harrison still being alive - he left us in 2001.

The plot of superb comedy "Hot Fuzz" - borrowed liberally from The Wicker Man, including casting the actual police officer from that movie - the Equalizer himself - Edward Woodward, but this time as a NIMBY community leader that wanted to protect his village from clowns and jugglers!
The fish-out-of water police officer this time was Simon Pegg's "Nicholas Angel" - who had been sent into the countryside because he was making the rest of the London police look bad with his supercop record!
So - paralleling The Wicker Man, a lone cop ventures into a strange village where nothing is as it seems ....
