I have had a LOT of people suggest this moment to be animated. A wild amount of people. Nuts even. If you have any real good moments from Critical Role you want to see animated by yours truly, let me know in the comments! At first I did NOT think that's what he was doing under the desk and I was concerned.
Brennen does have that effect on people

What I think is underappreciated is that these rants are never planned or scripted, this is just genuinely how Brennan talks.
Improv is like being the Hulk, you are always scripting.
Years of LARP camp will do that to ya
Honestly that man can pull a rant/monologue or lore out his ass at the drop of a hat and if all he requires is constant almonds as sacrifice i say let him
There are a lot of people who constantly have a rant bubbling within them, but no one does it like Brennan.
It’s even more than that! He has said he has to hold himself back from speaking like this all the time.
I love how Zac Oyama has the energy in this as someone who was suddenly teleported into the room with no clue what's going on but just doesn't ask questions

I love even in the limited character design. We all just knew it was Zac right away.

The incorporated sporadic twitches in his eyebrows just send me, 10/10 animation

I don't know why Zac is the perfect person to pull in to shove food into Brennan's back. But he is.
Zac has a debt to pay after Brennan got him off that murder charge.
With Zac there, and the energy of the rant, my brain kept inserting "Whoa, dude" in between phrases.
Zac seems like the kind of guy who'd help shovel foodstuffs into your torso furnace if you needed him to.
(It's similar to the idea of the guy who'd drive you to the airport if asked.)
I don't know why, but I just assumed it would be Lou. He always has Brennan's back.
Zac does kind of just give off intense "happy to be here" vibes in every single thing I've ever seen him in
Brennan having salami shoveled into his back was such an evocative turn of phrase, and you truly did it justice with that gaping, flaming maw

I love the inclusion of Zac Oyama as the designated shoveler, and the way you captured his deadpan-yet-uneasy expression that I could well imagine him doing.

It honestly flabbergasts me that Brennan has been teased about his DM snacking. When I was in a big group that met in person, everyone would bring snacks, we had a designated snack table, would snack throughout the night, and we would take turns refilling our DM's snack plate. I personally am not even much of a snacker, but snacks are ESSENTIAL for D&D and the thought that people don't snack during D&D is beyond me
But there's a danger for a DM to snack on anything that promotes Clutch Cargo mouth... 🤮
I think for the streaming DMs and the fact that it's quite tight times and it is sometimes live.
Snacking is less.
I'm of the opinion of let the people eat.
If my DND session is over 4 hours, I'm stopping the game to get food if there isn't already.
The only reason I don't snack during games is that we play online after dinner. But, every once in a while I do have a chocolate bar or something sweet as dessert.
Podling Brennan is the cutest thing I've ever seen and I don't think I'm exaggerating.

I have not learned my lesson. I continue to attempt to snack during Deep Blue Ink's animations. This time I almost choked and died when Brennan's armpit turned into a shower of sweat. Ironically, my snack of choice was almonds, because I thought it would be funny. It was in fact funny. Just not for the reasons I intended.

YES! IT'S FINALLY ANIMATED AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I was already broken at the Elevated Beings, so I was caught so off-guard by Podling Brennan it shattered my universe, "SOME OF US ARE POD PEOPLE" is gonna live rent free in my head for a whiiiile and it deserves every second.
One of the things I like about Critical Role is how many fans they have in common with Drawfee. I'm still catching up with campaign 3, but I enjoy that every time I want to skip the break, or pick up at a certain point, all I have to do is scroll down to the comments and find Julia's Spheal, and he'll get me where I need to go. (if you see this, thank you Flando)

The Pod People line was a legit jumpscare, but I think Brennan’s goal was to be a bit unnerving, so that’s appropriate.

Literally anything, but personally I'd love the transition in the very first episode where he's just finished Aabria's character backstory/flashback and NOBODY can deal (including me listening!! 😂). Screams, talks about reset (& how that's impossible), and the little I love yous countered with Lou's amazing "Do I love him? I do." (Brennan: The rhetorical question threw me, but we got to the answer we needed.) 😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩

I like the implication in the post-credits scene that DeepBueInk's angry vibrating is not, in fact, a product of stress or anticipation, but his natural state of being.
The answer was literally 1 word, and Brennan managed to turn it into an impromptu manifesto 🤣🤣

I love the fact that Aabria and Matt are dressed the same as they were in the video, while Brennan’s wearing the same outfit from the courtroom animation, like he’s formally standing in as a legal representative for all snacker GMs.

As someone who has never seen The Dark Crystal, the immediate cut to Pod Brennan was incredible.

Another moment that has lived in my head since I saw the original, was so excited when I saw this animation was coming and it does not disappoint. DBI gets Brennan's mannerisms/facial expressions/energy perfectly, the cameos are wonderful, the disturbing yet not Videodrome-like snacking mouth, it's just wonderful. Agh, I love the animation being Matt conferring with Aabria and Brennan in an office, then an INSTANT cut to MBMBAM, as if they were debating how to deal with an almond scandal on the show.
I feel like Brennan’s monologues are both a gift to animators and a challenge to them. The things he says give you so much to work with but you also have to contest with how incredibly animated he is as a human being. I also have watched this multiple times now

A Brennan rant is perfect for your style of humor. My god, there was just an overload of your amazing way of visualizing everything that is said. To a degree that still to this day leaves me in awe with how you come up with these visual gags. Along with Brennans unhinged ranting about snacks and his ability to sound both extremely angry and joking at the same time.
