    My experience - comparing Up vs i10
    After an accident on the highway (two vans crashed into me from behind - they did not brake) with the Octavia II. from 2007 I got a spare car VW UP! 2019, 3 months with 2000km. I was very skeptical that "with this" I would have to drive on highways now? I put on it very incredulously, I started ... And even then a big surprise came - I can't hear anything! I was expecting a noisy three-cylinder, but he was beautifully quiet. I moved - even though it was a weaker 60ps version, the body moved as easily as with a feather. Due to the low curb weight, it was very flexible. Already during the trip through the city, when I was headed for the highway I was literally shocked at how much space is in that car, how quiet, easy to handle, seats also OK, although their appearance does not say much. In short, I was also surprised that I was surprised. I went out on the highway, a threesome full of gas - yes, I expected it to be slow. But it didn't bother me at all, I was just reconciled to it. From 60km / h to 130km / h I will not be in 7 seconds. After a while I reached 130km / h and there was another shock for me - the car is VERY quiet despite the highway speed. I admit that if I read a mini review from someone else, as I am writing now, I WILL NOT BELIEVE HIM. I would think he is exaggerating and probably doesn't have much experience with cars. However, I have about 7 cars behind me and in the last 4 years I have driven 320,000 km, of which 90% on motorways. That is why I was very surprised that such a car is also very capable on the highway. Unfortunately, the cruise control was missing, that was one of the two things I missed - the other thing was the armrest. I used the up for about 3 days, I drove 1000km, I was surprised by the car. The average consumption on the highway was from 4.7 to 5.3 l / 100 km, which I consider an excellent result. Later I had to hand over Up and rent a second car, as my Octavia could not be repaired - the total damage went to the scrap yard. I rented a Hyundai i10 as a second car. So I can compare with Up. I had a better feeling from the interior and the quality of materials on the i10. More space in front, I would never have thought before that such a large space can be shaken into such a small car I am writing about space in front. The seats on the Hyundai i10 were literally and literally famous - BETTER than on the Octavia II and BETTER than on the 2016 Auris hybrid, which I bought subsequently. They were definitely the best seats in a very long time back. Not everyone may have that opinion, but they just sat me down. It's a pity that the Auris doesn't have such ... On the highway, I even had 4.3l / 100km for a long time (with a long-term drive of 110km / h), but then the 130km/h broke it and it increased to 4.8l / 100km. With Hyundai I had on average about 0.3l / 100km better consumption than with Up. I recommend anyone who is just as skeptical and distrustful of these small cars to try them out in the city, in the county and on the highway as they drive, and you can save a lot of money on car service and maintenance if you only drive in and around the city. Why the big smell of an SUV in the city, if you only drive in it alone and you don't need a suitcase? I drove 300km a day with Up and i10 and I was definitely not broken and hummed from those cars. Now comes the new i10 and it will definitely be even better than with the old model made before 2019, which I had. If anyone had questions, ask Anyway, this experience gave me a lot and without the crash, I would never try these two small successful cars. Everything bad comes with something good ! Have a nice day and sorry for my english :-)

      Good comment bro. I am thinking too that Hyundai i10 looks good cars for city, enough good for highways, good fuel consumption. What car you driving now?

    Had one of these as a courtesy car once, I had the 1.2 variant. I thought it was a nice car - good on fuel, very easy to drive, light steering, nice simple interior.
    One bad point I found (may be because it was brand new at the time), the brake peddle was super sensitive.

      @filips989 Před 6 lety

      Rusian I might be wrong cause I'm watching this on my phone, but to me it seems it's not the wind but the damp/wet road. i10 is supposed to have a not so good tire sound insulation, but the wind and engine should be insulated alright. I'm thinking of getting one as a wnd family car so I'll probably test drive one in the next 2-3 weeks. If you still have some questions let me know and I'll get back with a reply after I try it out.

    • @mysteriousghat5792
      @mysteriousghat5792 Před 6 lety

      I don't really have any other questions about I10.
      I'm just frequently watching "Road Fanatic" videos and found that small hatchbacks usually generates a lot of noise even before hitting 80-100km/h.
      From Road Fanactic videos, i20 at 120km/h was recorded as quieter than i10 at 80km/h. That's pretty big difference and can make a viewer like me a bit curious.
      That's why I'm asking if it's due to camera quality (and how loud it was recorded) or is it that these small cars are very very noisy.
      If You want to try, You're always welcome and I'd definitely watch Your POV Test Drive of i10 that You gonna buy : )

    • @filips989
      @filips989 Před 6 lety

      Rusian haha thanks, but I won't be doing a POV video, I'm just gonna test drive it cause I'm looking for a small car as a 2nd family car. So I thought you might want to know something else.

    • @mysteriousghat5792
      @mysteriousghat5792 Před 6 lety +2

      Thanks that You try to help :)
      To be honest if I were in Your position I wouldn't choose german and france (except some) cars.
      You're choosing 2nd in family car so it should be cheap and reliable. In that terms, Hyundai in overall, that i10 would definitely be good.
      I don't know for how long You want to own it and for what You're looking but other cars that might catch Your eyes (in price&cheap repairs&reliability terms) could be Dacia Sandero/Logan, Peugeot 301, Citroen C-Elysee, Toyota Aygo/Yaris.
      If I were looking for sedan: 301/Logan. If hatchback: Yaris. If small city hatchback: Aygo.
      That's just my opinion. If I had cash right now at this very moment, I'd buy Toyota Yaris/301 instantly, so You might want to test drive them too before actually buying i10.
      Hope I'm not offensive or something to You : P

    • @filips989
      @filips989 Před 6 lety

      Rusian no, not at all, thank you for the suggestions.
      We actually own a 2012 Citroen C4 Mk2 1.6 hdi which is our main car. Our 2nd car is a 2004 Chevrolet Kalos 1.2 SE which is starting to have more and more problems so I'm looking into replacing it.
      We drive our cars into the ground so we will keep it until running costs get too high, like with the kalos now. So that's why I'm looking at only new cars (used market in Croatia is insane, people want 80% of the retail value of the new car for something 4-5 years old)
      I'm looking strictly for a petrol cause this car would be doing 20 km per day only.
      I was thinking about Sandero, Aygo/C1/108 (all the same car), Twingo, Celerio, up! and i10.
      Aygo is really too small in the back and I hated the gear lever (you have to fiddle it around to get into some gears properly).
      Twingo has a too weird drivers position for me.
      Celerio seems like rough quality inside so I would prefer Sandero which is at least bigger.
      But the problem with Sandero is that they don't have a petrol version for the test drive, so if they don't get it soon I won't even be testing it.
      So it's down to i10 or up!, which I have to test drive in the comming weeks.
      I would love a Yaris but for the base petrol model is 1.500 € more than i10, and I simply don't need it so I can't justify the expense. Same goes for every other bigger car.
      I just need something that will get me to work (wife drives the diesel cause she travels 80 km every day), and something that can fit a front facing child seat to drive my kid to daycare 2-3 days a week.
      For longer trips or highway drives we just use the diesel.
