This video is excellent. You provided really good info for beginners and even more advanced painters. Excellent tips - worth watching several times. One tip, stepping back from the canvas, is very important to ensure your painting is on the right track. Keep stepping back constantly! The video is also entertaining because you are very personable, transparent, and humorous. You communicate well. Your first painting of the tree line is excellent. Thanks, and God bless!

This was very helpful, also unique from others I’ve watched.
You sorta look like Courtney Barnett.

Great video The knock on zinc white is it is brittle and prone to delamination. It is also has beautiful transparency for colors as seen in Pierre Bonnard who used it extensively and the pre-Raphealites and their paintings have held up well. Titanium white is great but "pasty". lead white is middle between in terms of tint strength and transparency but so expensive now but there are non lead approximations available the asphaltums can be approximated w red oxide transparent and ivory black as the original does not dry well

Thank you for the tips on white, that is extremely helpful and I wish I would have read it before I headed up to paint the fall leaves, I used the wrong white and yellow....my yellow was too cool
