    ABOUT 80 RAVES
    www.inplaceofw...
    In Autumn 2021, we're engaging members of the public and our worldwide music industry partners in a collaborative fundraising challenge - to cover the 7,200 mile / 11,600km distance across some of the 26 countries where In Place of War has projects in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Participants choose their own goal to be completed at their own pace, to contribute to the overall distance. You can choose to dance, walk, run, cycle or swim your distance goal and seek sponsorship for your efforts. There is the chance for you and your team to win amazing prizes donated by some of the event’s DJs, partners and entertainment industry networks.
    Each weekend of October will be soundtracked by streamed raves by DJs from all over the world, celebrating the efforts of all the fundraisers being sponsored to complete their distances. You don't have to work in the music industry to join the Around The World in 80 Raves challenge, you just need to want to get moving to some fantastic music to play your part in making a real difference.
    Through collaboration and partnership, we hope to create more than a fundraising challenge or campaign. This will be a movement of music industry and music lovers becoming activists, harnessing the uniquely universal power of music to bring us all together and make a positive change with massive impact, and we’re encouraging industry teams, friends and family to get involved.

    What I would give to spend a day with Sasha. Just to hear some stories and his perspective on the past and present of house music.

      Let the man's music do the talking... Words only go so far in communicating ideas; music is more subtle and flexible in conveying the feelings and emotions associated with a persons soul. Music is a language in its own right...

      Yes, I agree! And some of his sets are much better because of this. His approach is more gentle and subtle; the track choices more leftfield and unusual. Please, we don't need to keep on revisiting the nineties or noughties stylistically anymore. Move on up, get out of the darkness - I prefer his warmer more heartfelt sound.

    • @matthewsmith6051
      @matthewsmith6051 Před 2 lety +2

      He's actually doing way more now than back in the golden era because new technology gives him so many options to affect what comes out of the speakers. Effects, loops and overdubs weren't a thing in the 90's when the ultimate was a seamless mix in key that dropped at the precise moment.

    • @simonhunter834
      @simonhunter834 Před rokem

      @Matthew Smith Well acknowledged! The ignorance or naivete of some people who choose to comment can be frustrating at times. It's not as if Sasha, or any other DJ, is just pretending to look like their doing something significant when tweaking the buttons and knobs on their consoles. Their artists, painters of music; every little detail is considered and developed as necessary...

      It's the legendary Pikes hotel, its very reminiscent of when you would be chilling by the pool in Ibiza at places like Kanya Beach Bar, just chilling to the music, not paying attention to the DJ.

    • @ijidau
      @ijidau Před 2 lety +3

      He plays plenty of tracks with an extended mix that have a slow progression. Literally, many of the tracks have evolving synths and elements that are coming in and out, i.e. 'progressive'. He's mixing between, but some of the changes you are hearing are just part of the tracks.

    • @adriandenton6637
      @adriandenton6637 Před 2 lety +6

      Why would Sasha do a pre-recorded set? That doesn't make sense. You're too jaded and cynical. Sasha was spinning vinyl in the 1980s and 90s, has always taken it seriously and knows how to present a DJ mix. Why do you think people look down on Guetta and revere Sasha?
