ABOUT 80 RAVES
www.inplaceofw...
In Autumn 2021, we're engaging members of the public and our worldwide music industry partners in a collaborative fundraising challenge - to cover the 7,200 mile / 11,600km distance across some of the 26 countries where In Place of War has projects in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Participants choose their own goal to be completed at their own pace, to contribute to the overall distance. You can choose to dance, walk, run, cycle or swim your distance goal and seek sponsorship for your efforts. There is the chance for you and your team to win amazing prizes donated by some of the event’s DJs, partners and entertainment industry networks.
Each weekend of October will be soundtracked by streamed raves by DJs from all over the world, celebrating the efforts of all the fundraisers being sponsored to complete their distances. You don't have to work in the music industry to join the Around The World in 80 Raves challenge, you just need to want to get moving to some fantastic music to play your part in making a real difference.
Through collaboration and partnership, we hope to create more than a fundraising challenge or campaign. This will be a movement of music industry and music lovers becoming activists, harnessing the uniquely universal power of music to bring us all together and make a positive change with massive impact, and we’re encouraging industry teams, friends and family to get involved.

What I would give to spend a day with Sasha. Just to hear some stories and his perspective on the past and present of house music.
Let the man's music do the talking... Words only go so far in communicating ideas; music is more subtle and flexible in conveying the feelings and emotions associated with a persons soul. Music is a language in its own right...
What do you expect.....He is just....THE BEST DJ EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:))
you said it
Lol. Guys clearly lost it. He's a shell of the dj he used to be
Always a real pleasure !! Thank you Sasha
Sasha, breaks👍🔥🔥🔥
so amazing the music knowledge he has. that’s what i followed him since the 90s.
Simply the best techno pioneer ever. The best.
Lol. Um no. Jeff mills. Dave clarke. Richie hawtin. Laurent garnier. Those are techno pioneers
Sasha ❤️
The son of God.
chill fanboy
@@KOGIMIGOK I'm referring to a mixmag cover article. Your presumption is misguided.
Саша, как диджей, ты лучший! 17 лет слушаю
He seems happier now he's not being mobbed like back in the day. Settled into a happy contended lifestyle.
Yes, I agree! And some of his sets are much better because of this. His approach is more gentle and subtle; the track choices more leftfield and unusual. Please, we don't need to keep on revisiting the nineties or noughties stylistically anymore. Move on up, get out of the darkness - I prefer his warmer more heartfelt sound.
#1 still in 2022
good to see he's stopping his elbow catching covid there ;) :D
so fine!!!! the best
GOOD SET!
Holy shit these DJs are getting old… which must mean so am I. Love ya Sasha.
Simply the world's best warm up DJ.
How dare you lol
Getting Sasha to play at your parent's BBQ 😂
😆way 2 funny
Or don’t listen you amoeba
While Ben Klock drinks behind u
such a great set!! very sad anybody is dancing! :(
Because he playing a bunch of slow minimal crap. Listen to his early global underground. That had energy
@@brandonhopkins1106 yes I have old cds of those days, because I'm from those days
@@brandonhopkins1106 not really the place to play banging peak time stuff
@Mark Remmers he has played anything banging in years. In my opinion he has fallen way off
It's Ben Klock sitting behind Sasha? At 21:26
My thoughts exactly!
Yes
They all want to hang out with the King
The guy in the back looked like Ben Klock
The art of making yourself look busy ,when your actually doing and hardly fuck all..and earning a shit tonne of money....as MC Joe Peng said on the Sasha set @universe 92..."easy peasy Lemon squeezy"
He's actually doing way more now than back in the golden era because new technology gives him so many options to affect what comes out of the speakers. Effects, loops and overdubs weren't a thing in the 90's when the ultimate was a seamless mix in key that dropped at the precise moment.
@Matthew Smith Well acknowledged! The ignorance or naivete of some people who choose to comment can be frustrating at times. It's not as if Sasha, or any other DJ, is just pretending to look like their doing something significant when tweaking the buttons and knobs on their consoles. Their artists, painters of music; every little detail is considered and developed as necessary...
RIPCAT :)

Where is, this pikes hotel anyways?
Ibiza
@@marckealey7510 cheers Marc. Might swing by when I'm there in July
Turntables wrong way
I'm guessing the first track on this mix is the last choice of the doofus who played before him, who clearly didn't get the memo.
wrong! actually Sasha digs Hot toddy
30:08 o//
I appreciate it's for a charity, but seeing Sasha DJ in what looks like a restaurant to people who look like they are barely paying attention feels sad.
Sasha loves gigs like this
It's the legendary Pikes hotel, its very reminiscent of when you would be chilling by the pool in Ibiza at places like Kanya Beach Bar, just chilling to the music, not paying attention to the DJ.
It's an epic spot...he'd have loved it
Literally Ben Klock is sitting behind him
Stress-free, chilled out and it's for a good cause - I'm sure Sasha is very happy. As am I just listening...
Mehh!! Love Sasha but his
music sucks now.
Sorry love this style bud!
To each his own, but this still takes me for a ride. Also, you have to factor in the VENUE, this is not a warehouse in London this calls for a chill set..
I get it honestly...But every DJ is allowed to move on and not pander. He'd be the one to suffer if it went wrong.
Yes. His style is crap now. 90s to mid 2000s was sashas prime
Why do the tracks mix themselves? He doesn't mix them. In fact you can see him leave the booth and the tracks are mixed automatically.
Pre recorded mix
He is fucking mix them, what the hell are you talking about?
He plays plenty of tracks with an extended mix that have a slow progression. Literally, many of the tracks have evolving synths and elements that are coming in and out, i.e. 'progressive'. He's mixing between, but some of the changes you are hearing are just part of the tracks.
Why would Sasha do a pre-recorded set? That doesn't make sense. You're too jaded and cynical. Sasha was spinning vinyl in the 1980s and 90s, has always taken it seriously and knows how to present a DJ mix. Why do you think people look down on Guetta and revere Sasha?
