- Following the massive success of Dune and its sequel, Denis Villeneuve has quickly become a household name, but does his earlier work get the respect it deserves?

I have to interject.
Alejandro has possession of KAY’S gun when she walks back in from the balcony.
He places HER gun under her chin. That’s why he says, if she doesn’t sign the papers, “YOU WOULD BE COMMITTING SUICIDE “. After she signs the papers, he dismantles HER gun and leaves it on the counter. She reassembles it an points it at him as he walks through the parking lot
I didn't put that together somehow, seems to obvious looking at it given it's the same glock she's had throughout the film, and it would already have her finger prints on it.
Can't believe I missed that!
My workplace: Chaotic Sicario plot.
Me: Josh Brolin being chill af.
Matt Graver might be the chillest character of all time ngl
Fascinating
I really enjoyed your take on this incredible movie
Thanks for posting
Have a wonderful day today
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed my takes
Got some new stuff in the works, hope you enjoy that too
RIP Johan Johansson he was so talented
His work is almost unparalleled, RIP fr
The other reason this film was so successful and brilliant was because of the cinematography from Roger Deakins. Also it’s why the second film wasn’t as successful, though it wasn’t that bad just not as good as this one. Not sure if you’ve watched Narcos Mexico, but that series to me was also good because of the cinematography and score which was incredible! It’s one thing to have a good story, but it’s another thing to combine with a great cinematographer who can almost tell a story on mute by how they create the scene!
I have not seen Narcos Mexico I will have to check it out. Villenueve has worked with some great cinematographers, Greg Fraiser being one of my personal favs.
My favorite movie of all time.
You have GREAT taste
Cast:
John Brolin: *Thanos*
lmaooo
I couldnt not do it lol it was too perfect
Sicario is one of the best cartel movies... great video
Thanks so much, have you seen American Made?
Great video !! 🔥🔥🔥
Glad you liked it!
Great vid. Being the pedant that I am, while you are right that the word sicario is used as a Spanish slang term for assassin / hitman its actually originally based on the Latin word 'sicarius' - 'dagger man'. This is alluded to at the start of the film when talking about the zealots of Jerusalem. I love both Dunes, I love BR2049 and Arrival but this is Villeneuve's best ever film, IMO of course.
Thats intereating about the route of the word Sicario, can't believe I didn't think to trace its Latin routes!
I think BR 2049 is my favourite Villenueve, but I will always love Sicario for being the film that introduced me to him
@@SixffFilms they are all close, with the IMAX screenings of Duneprt1 & 2 being as close to the most spectacular experiences I have had in theatres but the first time I saw Sicario (I missed it on theatrical release but grabbed the Blu - ray as soon as it hit home video) I was so on the edge of my seat I ended up taking a 10mg diazepam tablet around the 90 min mark (just after Jon B's corrupt cop tried to kill Kate). Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!
@@steewith2ees14 I missed it in theatres (was 13 lol) and saw it on Netflix, ended up buying the 4K UHD and have watched it like 25 times
@@SixffFilms yh i'd say about the same (25 - 30 times in the last 9 years). I haven't upgraded my HC to UHD yet as I have a massive collection of 3DBD's and still love the format (the Real3D they use in standard cinemas is crap IMO and too dark).
@@steewith2ees14 3D Cinemas have never been worth it imo, never watched a 3D Blu Ray tho that sounds interesting.
Great and unique film! And good video too
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it
Nice video man
Thanks, worked hard on this
Cool stuff dude
Thank you man
the opening scene is entirely laughable, a human body can't fit inside a wall
I'm not sure how to approach this, have you heard of insulation...?
@@SixffFilms I build houses. studs are generally 3.5" concealing a human body would require at least twice that
I don’t sand
Me neither!
Sheesh!!! You ain't lyin 🔥🔥
Thank you :)
Sicario 2 is a very well crafted film…I am ver familiar with the CIA and wht u are getter a glimpse of is of we secretly do things in other countries…the movie was deep not a waste
Hey thanks for the comment and I'm glad Sicario 2 was still enjoyable for you. For me, it felt like too much of a departure from the original and a lot of the subtle character work was replaced with some fairly run of the mill action. I can't say I am too familiar with the modern day activities of the CIA, so maybe the second one is an accurate representation, but I still found myself disappointed and a little bored.
Nice video 😁
Thanks bro glad u enjoyed
nice video bro
Thanks man, worked hard on this
Wasn't Kate the true villain in this movie???
While I personally don't agree with that, I think Shane Bertram made a great video on that argument
Another Sixfffilms classic 👍
Thanks bro 👊🏼
I liked the secomd one to.Not as much but it focused on the sicario.
Thats fair enough, I just wasn't a fan of the whole Surragate father plot they tried to do with Alejandro and Alarcon's daughter.
I think Alejandro's story ended in a great place, so dragging him and Matt back out for a sequel just felt lazy and contrived.
I might check this out, I loved Dune
Dune was so peak, cannot wait for Mesiah
Might??? No you definitely need to check it out. Such an outstanding movie!
@@zachkoelzer7559 This guy gets it, Dune is so so so good
Yo this film is sick where can I watch it right now bro
If you're in the uk I think its still on Netflix
It's absolutely the best cartel movie ever (at least in English; it's possible there are Mexican-made films as good). I mean, at least for me, it makes a good argument for being the best film of past ten years..
I totally agree, one day I will have to sit down and check out some Mexican takes on the Cartel tho and see how they handle the subject
I've watched this like three times now, maybe I should watch the actual film...
You should bro it's so good
Woah man
Its a great film
W videooooo
Thanks bro, worked on it for a long time :)
😮
what is cartel?
The cartel is a label used to refer to South American organised crime, like Pablo Escobar or Don Elado in Breaking Bad
Breaking bad also counts?
Breaking bad is great, loved the cartel and Don Eladio
Familiar with Elite Squad 1&2 ?
No I'm not, are they films?
@@SixffFilms yes. Thank me later (and i bet Rise of the Footsoldier, the Football Factory also wernt on your radar?)
@@juliusraben3526 Yeah I have seen some of the Foot Soldiers films
@@SixffFilms only the first one counts
@@juliusraben3526 Pretty sure I've seen that one, the ones I have seen have kinda blended together mentally lol
