The joy in their faces, their voices, and the song is a treasure. I doubt there will ever again be music as beloved as the doo-wop classics from the late 50's and early 60's. I sure am glad I got to spend a few of those years behind the mic playing all the hits all the time on some radio stations.

When I was 13 I used to stand on a chair in the basement of our house with the radio on. When this song came up, I'd jump up on the chair and be Dion. He is a Treasure, a New York Treasure and nothing short of that. The guys still sings like crazy and he's more than a Doo Wop singer. He knows his stuff and is still at the top of his game. Just as a side note, we lived in the Bronx and my grandfather made and sold Mattresses from his business called the Belmont Mattress company on 180th street and Belmont Avenue!

I watched this number so much I bought the DVD of the whole concert. Most of his great songs are sung live with these 2 happy back-ups. In between songs on the DVD Dion talks about the songs, life, and plays some blues. But this number is by far the best on the album because of the dum de dum dum's and their faces! Like others say below, I didn't like this music when it was popular, but it has aged so well! Plus Run Around Sue, Donna Prima Donna, all these easy rockers.

There is more talent in these three gentlemen who are still at the top of their game 50 years later, than there is in any of the rapper, hip hopper reciters today. Notice I said reciters, not singers.big difference, right? This is great!!!

I've always loved Dion and the Belmonts. I just happened to click on this clip about two hours ago. I can't stop listening to it! What a powerful version from the 1958 version. There Harmonies are so tight! and the band is right in there with them. A for sure keeper!

Dion & The Belmonts, far and away the BEST DOO WOP Group of the 50's & 60's, had the opportunity of seeing them live at MSG in NY City, I believe in 72, I think it was a reunion tour...Are still absolutely THE BEST..

What a fantastic time for music, the original rock and roll era ( 50's, early 60's ). I grew up during this time and you would have to experience it to believe it. Its reallly depressing to see how music is today, but to each his own I guess.

This performance was recorded in Atlantic City in 2004. Dion was 64--65 at the time. He's 81 today.
The guy to Dion's right is his cousin Louis Coletti. Not an original Belmont, but toured with Dion and worked backup on albums probably late 80's--90's. Louis passed in 2013. He did a few recordings of his own, can be found here on YT.
The big guy to Dion's left is Jamie Colton, did a lot of work with big name artists and toured with Dion for several years.
