I’ve owned around 15-20 Martin guitars and recorded 120 albums of original material. Thank you Martin for being such a great part of my musical journey. Many of my songs were written on Martins over the years. A great blessing and your current builds are outstanding. Been to the factory 4 times and would go again anytime.

I am 74 years old so I was a 60s child that grew up during the hippy days and started playing rock in my teens but took a break for four years to do my Vietnam thing. Came home in 1970 and bought a 1971 D-18. Have loved the martins ever since. Lost my D-18 to ignorance. Lost of years have passed but I still have a d-35 and hd-28 that are getting better every year. Keep it going.

At age 58 I bought a Martin D-28 and a 000-28. For the last 13 years they've both been played everyday I was home. Best purchase I ever made and an absolute joy to own. Thank you CFM . . . oh and Dave Doll for showing me how to string them the neatest and easiest way I've ever seen.

Chris is correct about the Vietnam War and the American Soldiers love of gathering around a guitar in the evening and singing. I went to Vietnam from November 1968 to November 1969. I was stationed to Nha Trang, along the South China Sea. I have fond memories of leading song fests along the sea in this location. When you go to war you do not give up life. Hong Kong was a favorite one week R&R location. I went to Hawaii, but many went to Hong Kong as it was not too far away and famous for shopping and they spoke English.

So interesting just love the whole history of Martin Guitars and how it runs in parallel with main stream social and economic history. Thanks Chris.

Hrs an awesome story teller. I love martin guitars and the rich history they have. They are the king of acoustics! Always have been and always will be. I'll never own anything but Martin's. Cant wait for them to open back up to the public so I can go see the museum and factory.

You can argue who produces the best guitar, Martin & Co or Collings. However, Martin has the best crew from C F. & Dick Boak all the way down to the factories yard kitten and doggy.
Call me biased but I'd buy a Martin over a Collings any day because when all else is equal the people make the difference.

How are people not sitting still and listening, riveted? People are creaking around, talking, clanging metal objects together, dropping things on the floor, etc…🤦🏼‍♂️

      Lets see, my choice would be a 1945 D-18, a 1976 HD-28, a 1920s 0-18, a 1870s 0-28, and finally a 2001 D-45. These are my favorite Martin Guitars and I play them every day.

GUITAR IS A GREEK WORD DESCRIBING A GREEK INSTRUMENT. THE GUITAR IS GREEK IN ORIGIN. THE LAOUTI/LAOUTO IS A VERY OLD GREEK INSTRUMENT WHICH THE GUITAR EVOLVED FROM. IN THE MIDDLE EAST IT'S CALLED A "OUD" AND IN ENGLAND IT'S CALLED A "LUTE" WHICH ARE SHORT DERIVATIVES OF THE WORD LAOUTI.
