Great comparison of the two Combat Shirts. Thank you
Thanks for watching and the compliment 😀
@@poortac5568 You're welcome
Absolutely fantsastic information. I just subbed.
Now do the pants. I want a setup so bad.
Idogear pants are well made 👍 although they are a bit thin. Proper makes more durable, but heavy pants.
Both of those look awsome, I would also recommend tru spec for another comparison.
The tru spec is nice some people might nit pick the shoulder pockets on it though 🤷♂️
Tru spec is flame "retardant" 50/50 nyco
@@constitutionalcarpenter541 maybe use a thread cutter, and remove them altogether, or place them somewhere else on the shirt.
@@georgewashington7312 I don't mind them but like he mentions they do have that cardboard square feel to them. You could just remove velcro square if it bothers you.
@@constitutionalcarpenter541 Same with their uniforms, I'm particularly fond of the bdu xtreme style of uniform that they're doing the for atacs company, I just wish they'll eventually do it in other camo patterns, specifically m81 woodland, and multicam tropic.
The idogear will glow under high quality night vision.
Most clothing will. True multicam will minimize it, but most people have something on then will will glow anyway. Gun, holster, sling, helmet, etc. Thanks for the comment, I should have mentioned IR reflectivity. 😀
@@poortac5568 wrong, even pouches and helmets are designed to conceal from NVG
@@actualpatriot2977 super expensive stuff that is designed specifically for the military, will be less reflective under NVGs. Unless your gear manufacturer states it is low in IR reflectivity, its probably gonna glow. Nearly all budget brand gear will stand out under nvgs. Some spray paints help
@@poortac5568 nope.
REAL multicam fabric comes NIR treated as default.
Genuine Cordura has NIR treatment as well iirc.
@@actualpatriot2977 real multicam is milspec, so we are saying the sane thing. But there are plenty of things labeled as multicam that are not true milspec. Same as AR15s that are advertised as milspec, when they are not.
i wish they had a multicam black version of the 5.11 one...
black multicam is pretty slick 😎
Gained a subscriber today. Please do more durability tests for us poors
thanks for the sub! I have a bunch of stuff in long term testing. Hopefully I will be able to produce videos on them soon 👍
Have you considered getting used US G.I. combat shirts I have one in UCP but I know there’s a lot of OCP ones as well they’re pretty nice You can get them for pretty cheap
I have, but generally they are more expensive to get one with all the modern features/upgrades. They are generally better quality though.
@@poortac5568 They are okay. Army issued ACS's are a fitted design and I've seen plenty of them rip around the shoulders down range. The Marine Corp and Navy combat shirts are modeled after Crye/Drifire designs so they are pretty similar to the G3 combat shirts. The Army ACS is okay but the good thing is they are fully flame retardant with rayon material which is a big necessity who fly on aircraft or operate in and out of vehicles.
I know this is a late response, but I’ve used the USGI combat shirts (the fire retardant one) and they are of the poorest quality for price I’ve ever used. I have 2 rn that I’ve hardly used that are already falling apart. I would not advice their use.
@@phillipbrazil2108 I’m talking getting a used one for 30$ not the stupid crye 300$ prices directly from mastiff I’ve use multiple combat shirts and honestly the army ones are really comfortable just not durable
@@akibru2535 oh most definitely, they are comfy. They are just built like they were sewn together in a random hut in the Philippines by a 9 year old.
Would the 5,11 shirt work with the Idogear combat pants, even though they are slightly different shades of color. Could you tell the difference if you have a 5.11 top on and a Idogear trouser on?
they were very close in color, you wont be able to tell once they have been worn and washed a few times. 👍
@@poortac5568 thanks a lot
Hey guy, two questions, how tall are you and how much do you weigh, and does the size S shirt fit or is it a little loose?
Im 6 foot, 155 pounds, and have an athletic build. The body aspect of both shirts fit snug (like a fitted t-shirt). The sleeves are slightly baggy and slightly short.
@@poortac5568 Thanks for the information, it helped me a lot, I just got my IDOGEAR and it fits perfectly, a little snug but I was afraid it was going to be bigger
@@crossbonesbravo no prob 👍
How do the 5.11 sleeves compare to the sleeves on the hot weather OCPs?
the sleeves are better on the Idogear because of the internal padding. other than that, they are very similar.
I know this video came out two years ago 😂
But I gotta know, are they fireproof as in when they catch on fire will it stick to your body or just melt away?
I haven’t tested it, but I imagine they are not fireproof. Most likely they will melt and stick to your skin. You would have to buy Crye Precision or another expensive brand for that feature.
@poortac5568 well that's kinda important I'm in the idf reserves and we just got a donation of the idogear uniforms but I guess I should get a fire resistant layer for underneath
@@zevlyons2521 yes, I definitely would get a fire resistant under-layer. Good luck to you and stay safe over there 👍
Your channel name gives a reason why you aren’t reviewing cryes
Too poor 😂
Which is thicker on sleeves
the 5.11 sleeves feels thicker and more durable.
Will it hold up to airsoft?
yes, both are durable enough.
yeah thats just how asians do combat shirts with that weird collar and elbow pads. Thanks for making vids for the poors
us poors gotta stick together 😂
Don’t buy… They make fun of customers…
who? 😂
