i must debate against. spino is indeed the largest therapod ever known. but t-rex was brutal carnivore with a bite that could crush the tails of large dinosaurs. the t-rex teeth are heavily built for destroying bones. if it got its jaws around the neck of any the spine would be crushed. spino did have claws that could rip the rex to shreds, but it wasnt very bright and not nearly as strong as something that to kill triceratops or ankylosaurus to eat. i'll have to give the points to T-Rex

I like to interpret this as a missed opportunity for a final scene in JP3, where one of the Rex parents tracks down the Spino after it slaughtered its offspring. Had there been something close to this in the third movie, I think people would have liked it a lot more.
In my opinion, if these two ever met in real life, the fight could go either way. The T-Rex could break Spino's neck in one bite as depicted here or Spino might disembowel T-Rex with its claws in one swipe.

Come off as epic especially at 0:51 when the Rex spots the Spino in the water. You get that gut feeling that says "oh it's frikkin' on now!". Nice job on the sound editing.

If Spinosaurus was tougher it would have superseded T-Rex in overlapping areas and the T-Rex would not have enjoyed a longer reign at the top. Statistically speaking it is a no brainer. T-Rex was the dominant predator and was more successful. There is no doubt a Spinosaurus was a formidable predator in its own right, but the fact they had a significantly smaller range of fossil finds and a much smaller fossil time spread settles the debate as to which one was dominant. A Spinosaurus like the Triceratops would have had a fighting chance with a T-Rex, but T-Rex ruled the Jurassic land masses.

Spinosaurus was not built for fighting, but it was more suited to fishing with it's long mouth. Trex on the other hand, was powerfully built, so there is no way a spinosaurus could ever beat a trex unless the trex was sleeping and brian dead. :P

Third, t rexs brain was mostly used for its senses NOT for thinking. Everybody thinks t rex was "smart" just cause its got a big brain. Most of its brain was for physical activity. And fourth, no spino brain cavity was found, so you can't assume that t rex had a bigger brain.

this is why i think the spino should have won. 1.) it is at least twice the size a the trex(so the trex snapping it's neck is out of the question) 2.) it actually has use of it's 7 foot arms with 15 inch claws (it could claw at the trex when it is holding it) 3.)the spino's teeth are not made to grip so at the beginning the trex should not have been able to break free.

If you’re actually looking for a “who will win answer”, it depends on where the battle will take place. If it’s on land, the T-Rex would win because the spino would be out of its element. If the battle was in water the Spino would win because T-Rex would be out of its element. T-Rex wasn’t a dumb animal, wasn’t the smartest, but was a pretty smart animal with a somewhat larger brain than we thought and had binocular Vision which debunks the whole JP “it can’t see you if you don’t move” thing. Another thing too, Spinosaurs did not walk on two legs. It's hands were curved for swimming and walking. The body was so long that it would be difficult to walk on two legs. It is literally a four footed dinosaur. The Spinosaurs' long and narrow mouth was made for eating fish. It is the largest meat eating dinosaur that feeds on fish.

This wouldnt happen in real life, first of all, intimidation factor, Spino is nearly 2 twice the size of t-rex + the sail on its back making it look even bigger, this means t-rex probably wouldnt pick a fight with it becuase of size alone, second, t-rex's brain cortex (ie:the part that controls bodie functions and process of info) was no bigger then a walnut, this means its not react fast enough to spino's actions who brain is about the size a mini basket ball... Sure, spino's sail is a huge weakness but thats only if it falls the right way... Spino's teeth are also larger and ment for gripping, this mean that if he gets a bite in, t-rex isnt going anywhere + the arms as demonstrated in jp.3 are way more usefull than those twigs t-rex has... you forget that Spino was specifically adapted to the water. The one animated in Jurassic Park and this clip are not accurate because the newer fossils, and reanalysis of the remaining records of the partial original skeleton, show that it was way too front end heavy to be a biped, and most likely rested it's weight on the front forelimbs and would have had a lot of trouble functioning normally on land, kinda like a croc. T-Rex was a killing machine that was specialiezed for ripping through flesh on land. Spino on the other hand was the master of the swamp and river, with teeth that could only stab and grip, not rip through flesh. Just like with crocs, Spinos would have had to thrash their prey by picking it up with it's long neck and thrash back and forth to rip apart the flesh. Sorry, but don't think that it is strong enough to do that with a T-Rex. Conclusion: T-Rex would have mopped the floor with Spinosaurus.

T-Rex's wide skull and thick serrated teeth suggest they were used for crushing bone. Spinosaurus's long, crocodile-like snout and backward curving small teeth and its claws suggest it was a fish eater. the long tail suggests it was used for swimming. being a quadruped and the sail on its back wouldnt make it a very avid predatory dinosaur being that the sail was part of its backbone and a minor fall or injury could leave it paralyzed. T-rex's jaw designed to lock, and fighting with a ton of power, but spino's jaw is more likely designed to catch a light prey, not for combat (resemble to Garial, "not croc/alligator"). As their main diet is known as (maybe) fish, they seem less agressive to another big dino. it seems, spino will considerably avoid combat with charcarodntsaurs or the same/bigger size dino. Spino less use their jaw in fightng for mating, they tend to use their fin to decide which one is the better male to mate...

Spinosaurus was not built for fighting, but it was more suited to fishing with it's long mouth. Trex on the other hand, was powerfully built, so there is no way a spinosaurus could ever beat a trex unless the trex was sleeping and brian dead. :P

First of all, no spino leg bones found, so it didn't crawl on land. Second, if no legs were found, we can't calculate the speed. Third, t rexs brain was mostly used for its senses NOT for thinking. Everybody thinks t rex was "smart" just cause its got a big brain. Most of its brain was for physical activity. And fourth, no spino brain cavity was found, so you can't assume that t rex had a bigger brain.

VIPERTRON CHAOS yes actually 2 species of spinosaurus have just recently been completed due to them being discovered in Morocco and South America instead of just South Africa and they definitely walked on 4 legs they had thicker longer front legs and front hip bones even before they were completed they said on two legs it was 6m(19.7) feet and it’s sail was even bigger 7m??? No, they weren't. Pangea separated after the Triassic period. The Cretaceous period looked a lot more like our world. But besides, they were different time sections. Spino was Early Cretaceous and Rex was Late Cretaceous.

1.) it is at least twice the size a the trex(so the trex snapping it's neck is out of the question)
2.) it actually has use of it's 7 foot arms with 15 inch claws (it could claw at the trex when it is holding it)
3.)the spino's teeth are not made to grip so at the beginning the trex should not have been able to break free.

If you’re actually looking for a “who will win answer”, it depends on where the battle will take place. If it’s on land, the T-Rex would win because the spino would be out of its element. If the battle was in water the Spino would win because T-Rex would be out of its element. T-Rex wasn’t a dumb animal, wasn’t the smartest, but was a pretty smart animal with a somewhat larger brain than we thought and had binocular Vision which debunks the whole JP “it can’t see you if you don’t move” thing. All in all, it primarily depends on where the battle would take place for either of them to win the fight

Another thing too, Spinosaurs did not walk on two legs. It's hands were curved for swimming and walking. The body was so long that it would be difficult to walk on two legs. It is literally a four footed dinosaur. The Spinosaurs' long and narrow mouth was made for eating fish. It is the largest meat eating dinosaur that feeds on fish.

This wouldnt happen in real life, first of all, intimidation factor, Spino is nearly 2 twice the size of t-rex + the sail on its back making it look even bigger, this means t-rex probably wouldnt pick a fight with it becuase of size alone, second, t-rex's brain cortex (ie:the part that controls bodie functions and process of info) was no bigger then a walnut, this means its not react fast enough to spino's actions who brain is about the size a mini basket ball... Sure, spino's sail is a huge weakness but thats only if it falls the right way... Spino's teeth are also larger and ment for gripping, this mean that if he gets a bite in, t-rex isnt going anywhere + the arms as demonstrated in jp.3 are way more usefull than those twigs t-rex has... you forget that Spino was specifically adapted to the water. The one animated in Jurassic Park and this clip are not accurate because the newer fossils, and reanalysis of the remaining records of the partial original skeleton, show that it was way too front end heavy to be a biped, and most likely rested it's weight on the front forelimbs and would have had a lot of trouble functioning normally on land, kinda like a croc. T-Rex was a killing machine that was specialiezed for ripping through flesh on land. Spino on the other hand was the master of the swamp and river, with teeth that could only stab and grip, not rip through flesh. Just like with crocs, Spinos would have had to thrash their prey by picking it up with it's long neck and thrash back and forth to rip apart the flesh. Sorry, but don't think that it is strong enough to do that with a T-Rex. Conclusion: T-Rex would have mopped the floor with Spinosaurus.

Rex most likely got into more fights for hunting/stealing the prey of predators((opportunist)) 2. Height does not always mater sure the Spinosaurus was large but carnivores are known to take down prey which seems to be larger then them quite a lot. Also if they did live in the same area((I know they didn't)) they would most likely aviod each other unless necessary. Sure the teeth are larger and meant for gripping but as we all know the T. Rex bite would crush and rip chunks of flesh out with ease. Also who knows how thick the hides where of these amazing extinct creatures. 3. The Spinosaurus((Not going by the newer build which has been debunked by a few people)) Would not use it's hands too grip instead when it's opponent approached it would use it's powerful claws to slash right at it and take it out. While I am not denying that if they where alive at the same time and did come into combat one could win and one would lose. We must remember that they lived in different places and all that, And Jack Horner and his false information on the T. Rex which created a never ending argument should get most of the blame.
Also I know Spinosaurus would not stick to fish all the time and would hunt other prey but the T. Rex most likely was more of a hunter then a scavenger as some of it's size(Same goes for Spino) would need to eat regularly too keep up strength.

T-rex's jaw designed to lock, and fighting with a ton of power, but spino's jaw is more likely designed to catch a light prey, not for combat (resemble to Garial, "not croc/alligator"). As their main diet is known as (maybe) fish, they seem less agressive to another big dino. it seems, spino will considerably avoid combat with charcarodntsaurs or the same/bigger size dino. Spino less use their jaw in fightng for mating, they tend to use their fin to decide which one is the better male to mate...
