- Brian Bares founded Bares Capital Management, Inc in Austin, Texas in 2000. He believes concentrated portfolios of inefficiently priced small companies lead to high relative compounding. His firm manages institutional portfolios of small-cap and micro-cap common stocks in long-only, replicated separate accounts. Mr. Bares began his career by working his way up from the bottom. From compliance and operations, to trading and portfolio management, he garnered experience in nearly all aspects of running a boutique small-cap manager before starting his own company. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Mathematics. Mr. Bares holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Austin. He resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife and three sons.

This one was absolutely gold!!
Thank you Tobias.
Glad to hear it!
So thankful for all the value you provide for free. I can't even imagine all the work that goes into it.
Fantastic episode!
Loving the community feel from all your guests. They speak so respectfully of other investors, even if they don’t agree with their approach completely.
You going to get Meb Faber on soon?
Fantastic episode, great guest! Amazing content as per usual, Tobias. Keep it up! All the best
Excellent interview, thanks. Really fascinating approach.
He gave a talk a few years back at an university, I liked it a lot and I tried finding any other talks he gave , there is absolutely nothing out there on the internet. Thanks Tobias , this is the awesome.
This was a great interview. He had a lot to share and we got to hear it.
Hi yyiui
19:00 - Surprised he never gave a nod to Akre given his 3 qualitative buckets are just a clone of Akre's 3 legs of the stool (moat/unit economics, skilled/high-integrity mgmt, and long/wide runway for above average reinvestment returns).
If TSLA doubles one more time Toby I'll be able to open an account with this guy. Good interview as always!
Do you ever sleep? See you uploading videos super late and dropping Twitter bombs first thing in the morning. Judging by that, those books you read on "vacation" and your unwavering deep value faith... yup Tobias is a robot.
