James May said "Let It Go" was really about his desire to fix things between him and his partner. He says he was "wanting to sort of get rid of all the kind of sadness and sort of grim times that we'd come to: getting a bit lost and away from each other and wanting to sort of, like the song says, let it go and move on."
"You know, maybe get back to what we had," he adds. "Or move on to something new and something a bit clearer. That’s kind of where the song came from for me." 👍😘 His other song " Hold back the river " was born purely out of emotion, and a longing to be with friends and family after a grueling tour got in the way. ☺️👍😘
