One of many great Travis Tritt songs. His music has held up for me over the years and I still enjoy listening to it.
His vocals are pretty underrated on this track. He does alright. The track itself is a product of it's time. 90's country playing radio friendly "hook" tracks but this was still written by him and he played on the track. So respect. Cheers Travis Tritt.

That's a really good point about the kind of song you might want to play for a couple who plan to marry.
I had to laugh about the resolution thing. I was just trying to think of what movie it was that my daughter Judi (at about 18 or 19) watched with me because I told her it was so good, and it wasn't resolved. She was like, "No! It can't END that way...it HASN'T ended!" I replied, "Yup...you're right...that's the point! Where do you THINK it should have gone?" Then we had a big discussion about how life "shoulda, woulda, coulda...you know?" ;-) Sometimes we need to see things from that perspective. It can actually jerk us up faster than maybe seeing the whole thing played out would, if there's the right amount of surprise that it did NOT get resolved. Writers that can pull that off for any type of story, have my admiration! If it doesn't finish, but you know it should have, and you still loved it, and you go on thinking about it for quite some time...they've accomplished a lot!
I'm not necessarily saying this song accomplished that, but...it definitely does leave you wondering. ;-)

Please review “Randall knife” by colter wall. It’s a guy a Clark song, I believe colter does it more justice. It’s a fantastic story telling song I think you will love. Love the vids.

Long time fan of Travis Tritt... but not of this one. Those sappy "Richard Marx" sounding lyrics with that "snap-track" tempo just killed it for me! As for the message...you want to keep or get back a woman?... just telling her your wrong and you F'd-up isn't gonna do it. Might work for Travis but for all us regular guys, you need to tell her exactly how "you were wrong" with plenty of details and the steps you'll be taking to fix it. Don't grovel or cry...just be sincere and show conviction of heart.
I think the lyrics "help me understand where I went wrong" say it all. He doesn't know exactly what he did to screw up, he just knows he hurt her and he wants to fix it. He doesn't care what it takes, he just wants to know how to make himself a better man. Sometimes a man needs a woman's perspective because he's blind to his own faults

Sometimes people mistake their sadness of being rejected or being alone is the same as loss of love...its not...and believing so will only keep you a lonely pitiful victim of your own weakness.
