I wonder, when Jon wrote this, did he ever think - Man, if this one kicks off, I'm going to have a real hard time time singing it after 20+ years...
He had a hard time singing it by 96 I'm pretty sure
He actually once (around 2010) said that if he could give his younger self any advice - he wouldn't write songs with such high notes as Always and Livin' On A Prayer again. Good thing that he didn't think too much about his future in his younger days :D

@@giorgioandreabaldisserri3811 He had smoked occasionally before, but it was The Leading Man in early 1996 where he became a heavy smoker - out of boredom as he later admitted. There's even a video from the These Days tour where he smokes on stage during a song.

@@ppiati958 마지막에 리스트에 없던 always 앵콜로 불렀던때 맞습니다 ㅎㅎ 공연다 끝나고 인사하고 불꺼졌는데 갑자기 always 전주 드럼 소리에 전부 다 난리났었죠
이젠 진짜 못 올 거 같아요..
U2도 오는마당에 딱 한번 더 오지않을까요

@@Proteuus Vdd, Always em alguns show ele nem canta ela mais, pq as notas são muita altas, eles abusaram muito no stúdio gravando as músicas com notas altas, infelizmente eles não conseguem cantar elas ao vivo, Always exige muita voz, fôlego, técnica vocal, sem falar que as notas são altas, foi bom enquanto durou, mais as músicas dele é sensacional adoro demais🏛🍻😎✅️

Wow! Took me down memory road remembering this great song. I just so happened to be stationed in Seoul at that time ('94-'95), but I can't remember hearing about Bon Jovi coming to town. My first concert ever was Bon Jovi New Jersey tour back in '89...Lake Shore Arena in Lake Charles, LA.

젊음이란게 뭘까..이때는 연속된 투어로 피곤할법도 할텐데 얼웨이즈 고음을 쉽게쉽게 불러되던 본조비 형님.. 웸블리에서 입었던 청쟈켓을 그대로 입고 나오셨네.. 크로스로드와 디즈데이 앨범 낸 직후가 본조비의 최고 정점이였던것 같다..외모로써도, 맴버들의 공연 퍼포먼스로도, 모든게 최고 정점이였던시기 이 이후 자연스레 젊음을 잃어가면서 낼수 잇는 퍼포먼스의 한계가 찾아온것 같다....

there's really big difference in guitar sound when Richie plays in a Strat (more raw), very rare in performing Always, cause He's always using Les Paul in that song.

It's not just age it's from too much touring. He's never taken a break from singing. He's worn his vocal chords out.
