You are da real MVP
Was looking for this
Thank you
Thanks! Only no.5 is worth watching....
Juan my friend, you're a pimp.
How about the nice guys. It was one of the best buddy cop comedies in years, but it barely made its budget back.
Fortunately, those who watch it really like it so i guess it's just overlooked/flew under the radar by the majority
That movie is hilarious!
I hated it and I am a big fan of Shane Black. Not sure what went wrong there for me
Oh shit, i haven't finished that movie! fell asleep, but ust because I was super tired and watching from bed.
movie was hillarious! ryan and russel have great chemistry!
thx for remindin me xD
Movie Man
Except it’s not underrated at all. It received high rating from almost everybody. Maybe it’s a little under appreciated or slept on, but it’s not underrated.
Anyone who uses the phrase "just 7 out of 10 on IMDB" clearly isn't very familiar with the website.
RIGHT?!?!
My thoughts exactly. A 7/10 is satisfactory, downright watchable; maybe even twice! To say that "X film got a 7 out of 10 on IMDb" shouldn't be a negative comment at all.
Captain America winter soldier is only 7.8, but it's probably one of the best marvel movies
@@walrusArmageddon, 7.8 is higher than most MCU movies. How's that "only"? Spider-Man "only" has a 7.3 rating.
@@MachineFuckingHate should be 8 or 9 out of ten that's why
Dredd (2012) is massively underrated
I liked the original much more. New Dredd was trying too hard to look like Stallone that it made me cringe.
Loved Dredd... Im just shocked cause I never knew it was underated... Loved it
Was a garbage movie imo.
@@reekreeker3375 you are joking right? The old one is TRASH
@@spagbol3104 Dredd was a b-movie trying to copy another b-movie from the early 90s, Dredd was shit, at least Judge Dredd knew what it was and had fun with it.
A 7.0 and 7.2 IMDb rating isn't bad at all
It's still not "great" which is their point
I mean last time I checked " Scream" has like a 7.0 on imdb..so yeah.
IMDB is completely unreliable.
the ghostbusters reboot has that score.
bigpimpdaddy69 yup. Almost every movie has inflated numbers. Even some of the worst movies of all time manage a 6 and above
“Wind River” with Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen was highly underrated!
Oh that was awesome
it was not that great it got what it deserve
Love that movie
Brilliant movie 👍
Absolutely
They LITERALLY used the word dread in the commentary, and yet never thought of... I don't know... DREDD!?
The only issue i see is that DREDD has a massive cult following that has boosted the movies popularity to where we may see a sequel.
DREDD got a ton of critical acclaim. More unknown than underrated.
I actually saw DREDD in the theater. Great movie.
@@brennanj7843 I AM THE LAW
Personally I would have included A Place Beyond the Pines on this list. A beautiful tale of children paying for the actions of their fathers. No one seems to talk about the film anymore.
Yeah, another Underrated movie from Derek.
In fact, all his movies are Underrated. I'm not saying this because of the ratings that they have on Imdb which is between 7.4 and 7.2... They can be more higher but because this is a people vote system it's understandable that it's subjective to people tastes.
But I'm saying this because they don't get prestigious awards or nominations from big awards ceremony.
Gosling is in many of them. Check out Half Nelson if you haven't already.
Thats one of my favourite movies.
Place behind the pines is boring and lame
@@brianfuller4258 I have a feeling you are boring and lame.
The Nice Guys should be on here. It's so flippen funny!!!!!
indeed, can't think of any other movie from recent years that is so stunningly good yet sadly defines what "underrated" truly means, it's a gem. Edge of tomorrow also springs to mind now that I think of it.
Michael John
Except it’s not underrated at all. It received high rating from almost everybody. Maybe it’s a little under appreciated or slept on, but it’s not underrated.
The perks of being a wallflower.
Absolutely man. Just saw three days ago, I was flattered how funny that was. Shane Blake is genius!
Jumped off the building? Isn't that from "The Other Guys"?
I watched Blue Valentine on a first date, never saw her again.
Oof
I took a girl and all her friends to see The Mist on her birthday. She and half her friends left crying. Called her when she got home... still crying. That was the end of that.
Lmao
Other movies that should be on here: Snowpiercer, Only Lovers Left Alive, Logan Lucky, Wind River, Lion, Atomic Blonde, Tully, Ingrid Goes West
snowpiercer is amazing. one of my favourite
Atomic Blonde...? One of the few films I didn't finish watching.
Blue Valentine is probably one of the most depressing films I have ever seen
Agreed but it was a great movie.
Realistic and genuine.
One of the most Underrated movies.
@Benjamin Park not the best thing to accidently get into hahaha that and Biutiful is up there too
yup, next to dancer in the dark but i was way younger when i watched it.
Yeah, that and 500 Days of Summer is a pretty depressing realistic relationship double header if you want to feel hopeless about your future relationships (ignoring the ridiculously pandering "happy ending" 500DOS tried to give us after that strong dose of reality)
@Derek McCumber Virgin Suicides, House of Sand and Fog, Requiem for a Dream
Hell or High water should have been on this list.
My favorite movie of that year. I felt Ben Foster was snubbed at the Oscars. Also, that movie has one of the best final scenes in any film.
Great movie
Not underated
Hell or high water was met with very favorable reviews
Should've won the Oscar imo.
The Grey (2011) Is one of the most underrated movies out there,
Warrior is massively underrated. Nick Nolte gives one of the best performances of his career. Rango should be mentioned. Way better than it got credit for. Some of the most impressive animation I’ve ever seen. The movie Bernie. Jack Black is phenomenal in it.. I could go on and on!
Warrior got an 8.2 on IMDb with over 400k votes. That's great reception.
10 cloverfeild lane is an unbelievably good film, im not even joking. watch it and you will NOT be disappointed i promise you. john goodman is phenomenal in it.
It's a disturbing film but I agree it really shows how talented of an actor Goodman is.
John goodman's great 8n everything
What I don't understand is how it's considered underrated? The movie is absolutely fantastic! I know of no one who thinks otherwise
Agreed one of my all time favourite movie
I absolutely love Blue Valentine. It's so raw, and shows you the parts of relationships that most films shy away from.
Exactly
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is awesome.
Not underrated
I liked the original swedish one.. but that one was enough for me
@@WarriorSam the Swedish version is really impressive I like that one equally.
Great film
@@WarriorSam this one is better imo. Daniel craig was great in it too
Swiss army man is DEFINITELY WORTH THE WATCH. I was skeptical at first but I enjoyed it very much. And my friends really like it too and they are really hard to please
Better be fucking good...
the swedish version of girl with the dragon tattoo was better than the american one. I think that one is more underrated. and they made the sequels
OMG - please tell me you're kidding....
I respectfully disagree. Rooney Mara is the one and only Lisbeth in my opinion.
the swedish translation of the book was better than the american one
Fincher’s GWTDT is haunting and had so much style and depth. The Swedish versions were a little better then made for TV movies, Noomi did a great job but you can clearly see the extent of the budget they had.
@@eddythinman the fuk? it is a book series from an Swedish author..... The SWE films where made first, then Hollywood bougth the rights.
Coherence is one of my favorite films of the 2010s. It is so well written and directed , as well as brilliantly acted. It is a slow burn but it is fantastic. Blue Valentine is utterly heart wrenching, it effected me for days after I saw it , now that is the mark of a great film. Also the acting and direction is top shelf.
I'm gonna throw this out there....the 13th warrior is a classic...fight me
It is enjoyable
I thought it was good, it was before the whole blow up everything and the use of a green screen for 90% of a movie.
I like it as well. Never understood why it gets so much stick.
Very, very good pick. That was an epic all it's own.I'll fight beside ya, bro..
Loved it! One of my favorite movies ever.
Most underrated movie about adolescence:
*The way way back*
I think people forget The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo because it's a great remake of an accessible equally great movie. The Nyquist/Rapace version is just as good. And I'd add Ruby Sparks to the list.
It's a rubbish remake, the original was so much better. Instead of a remake people should learn to read subtitles, or there is an English language Dub for lazy people
C Austen- you're a clueless idiot. Probably better to keep it to yourself and not make it more widely known by saying moronic things on CZcams...
Really need to add Blue Ruin, Tucker & Dale vs Evil and What We Do in the Shadows to this list
Agreed on all.
Macbeth 2015 was tragically underrated. Beautiful movie that was snubbed by a criminal number of people.
Only reason I haven't seen it is because I have a hard time following the dialect in Shakespeare plays. I loved reading Macbeth, but I had to read one of those copies that has the modern English translation written on the other page
No word of mouth because it is the play that must not be named
Visually a great film but the Shakespearean dialogue made it boring, it's the same reason I thought Romeo and Juliet was crap
It is a masterpiece.
Was a slog to get through. But was visually stunning. The director and Fassbender went on to kill any hopes of an Assassins Creed movie franchise sadly.
4:26: “one of William Shakespeare’s greatest plays”
Or, in my opinion, his best plays. Thanks for introducing me to this character, “Gargoyles”.
how is Iron Man 3 underrated?!?!? it made over a billion dollars in the box office. you guys need to understand what underrated means
Ciggy Pop Culture because it was considered really bad to many “fanboys”.
Salah Al-Bloushi ah yes anyone who doesn't like it is definitely a fanboy🙄 I think you're the only fanboy here
Overlooked and underrated are different things. You need to understand what underrated is.
Ciggy Pop Culture
Maybe YOU should learn what “underrated” means, dipshit
lmfao so much anger I can feel it flowing through you
The World’s End is criminally underrated. I won’t say it’s better than Shaun and Fuzz, but it is equal and equally entertaining. I’ve probably watched it more than any film, and it gets better every single time.
SAPProd amen
It's better than Hot Fuzz becasue Hot Fuzz is played to death on TV
The first half of iron man 3 is good. After the twist it goes down hill. It just didn’t replace the mandarin with a viable threat.
Ditto. I didn’t need the Disney bonding time with the kid either. Not unless it was gonna come full circle on a larger scale. And I don’t know about anyone else, but I feel like they missed an opportunity for Rescue.
the kids been casted to appear in avengers 4 so there's that
I AM THE MANDARIN! lmfao
@@99chavis the bonding with the kid was the best scenes tho
they should've kept the chick as the villain instead of a martyr at the end.
the worlds end is CRIMINALLY underrated and i love it so much
A place beyond the pines is such a great movie, you should have included it on the list, I've never heard anyone talk about that movie despite it being such a moving movie. The list is otherwise pretty good.
Guess who doesn't know what underrated means
bziu
You.
whatch mojo? only 7 on imdb when there is titles of 1 or lower 7 aint bad lol
@@newthrash1221 nope
I know it didn't get high ratings but I really liked Oculus.
So good
The girl with a dragon tattoo was not received bad for being predictable or whatever you are trying to say, it was received bad because it was comparatively bad in comparison to the original Swedish movies that were released just a couple of years earlier.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is probably my second favourite Fincher movie behind Se7en
The handmaiden 2016. I just watched it in 2020.
absolutely amazing, one of the best Chan-Wok films and I think I love all of them
Predestination ?
That movie was fucked up, quite literally lol
Oof no, get away with that pretentious crap
I loved Predestination!
boring...
Macbeth was so fucking good and underrated more people need to see that
Silence is the most underrated movie of 2010s for me, that film deserved to be nominated best picture at Oscars.
I enjoyed At World's End, not sure why it was underrated
Edit: The World's End, not At World's End. My bad
a lot of the fanbase pan it for some reason
It was because the critics and fans panned the hell out of it. To me its one of my favorite Pirates films.
@bigpimpdaddy69 every time I see and hear people talk about it, it's always mocked. Also 4/10 that's still below average. The others, fine they rate it average. But I always see negative responses and comments
He means the Simon Pegg Cornetto film in the list, not the 3rd PotC film
@@Eudomac99 ahhhhhh. Shit I misread my bad
Coherence is really good 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
oh yea, that was one of a kind!
yes I seriously loved it
I like how when he mentions Dragon Tattoo's "chilling score" they show the scene with Enya in the background.
I vividly Remember The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo it was a great movie
I like the original better.
Liked the original much better.
Thanks for the Coherence recommendation.
In terms of underrated movies from the past decade I always think of Warrior. So good and so few people seem to know about it
If you mean the one with Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, and Nick Nolte, then I agree.
Warrior is the definition of an underrated movie. The movies on this list were mostly garbage
Warrior is a great movie.... performances, direction and choreography of fight scenes spot on.... a little cliche but in the sports drama category hard not to be.... second only to the first rocky movie in this genre....
It was nominated for an Oscar so it seems that people were watching it and rating it highly at the time. I heard about it through word-of-mouth when it was in theaters and it was because I'm a film snob and a friend thought I'd like it. I'm not sure I'd call it underrated but it probably fits the definition used here.
Warrior is one of my favorite movies of all time. It blended high intensity action with emotional scenes that just dragged you in perfectly. In my opinion is the best fight movie ever.
Great list actually. Agreed on the ones I’ve seen and now really excited about the rest
Great list! Super and Blue Valentine are 2 of my favorite movies! 💖
The original girl with the dragon tattoo was good enough, great in fact. Didn't really need to be remade into an English version
There was even an English dub so was no need for the terrible remake. Though for me I have to watch foreign films with subtitles
C Austen the remake was terrible how? It had better actors, a superior ending, the best take on Lisbeth and the movie just oozed style and atmosphere.
English version is amazing. Glad it was made!
@@Tob1Kadach1 how was it terrible? It was amazing. Get some glasses and your hearing checked
Coherence is amazing, really glad you mentioned it.
Iron man 3 wasn't underrated. It got a better reception that it deserved
it's the best, funniest, sharp, self-conscious, and most intelligent film in the MCU
@@sirako Except it isn't nor was it when it came out.
Easily one of the best marvel films
My definition of underrated. The critics hate it. Fans love it. Everyone pretends like the critics are the ones who matter
LOVE the choices!
But, what about Blade Runner 2049? Or is there too many Ryan Gosling movies in contention already what with Blue Valentine, The Nice Guys, The Place Beyond The Pines, The Ides Of March, Only God Forgives, Drive, etc.?
Coherence was EXCELLENT. Totally underrated, I agree fully!
THANK YOU for including Coherence!
You guys really, REALLY lost me at Ironman 3....
Man From Earth and Children of Men but don't get enough credit for being super good movies
Haven't seen Man from Earth but definitely agree with you on Children of Men.
Both came before 2010. And Children of Men is considered to be one of the best movies ever made. Who says its underrated?
Sicario seems very underrated, along with Oblivion.
Coherence was a really nice surprise for a low budget sci-fi. Never got attached to any of the characters but I think that was the point of the interchangeably. Quite a unique story.
Megamind is the best dreamworks movie and did not get the amount of love it deserves.
I saw green room and it is fantastic.
Coherence is one of my favorite movies.
Mine too! I watched it several times
Macbeth is a triumph. I saw it five times in the cinema and then bought the dvd. Perfection. "Hail Macbeth!"
Love this positivity! Great recommendations
Nearly every film on this list is rated at a 7 or above. In what reality does that make them underrated?
I have 2 additions, both by the same director: S. Craig Zahler:
Bone Tomahawk
Brawl in Cell Block 99
Both are *very* slow burn films, but excellent exercises in genre. Bone Tomahawk is a western horror with great performances by Kurt Russell, Matthew Fox (seriously!), and Richard Jenkins (who's great no matter what he's in)
Brawl in Cell Block 99 is a 70s-style exploitation flick. Vince Vaughn plays a strong-but-silent total badass and no joke, it's the best role he's ever played.
Just be warned: both films get gory, and when they do, it's extreme.
Bone tomahawk great movie.
Brawl in cell block 99 I only watched the first ten minutes before I switched it off, too slow
Erik Dresner Bone tomahawk! Ma man
Bone Tomahawk is amazing, thr Vince Vaughn one was shite.
bone tomahawk was great
Cloverfield was amazing, saw it like 3 years ago and got me chills 💔
10- Super
9- Green Room
8- Swiss Army Man
7- Macbeth
6- Iron Man 3
5- The World’s End
4- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
3- Coherence
2- 10 Cloverfield Lane
1- Blue Valentine
It bothers me immensely when people say The World's End is bad. You can dislike it, sure, but claiming that this movie is a terribly made failure... I mean, that's just ridiculous.
It was pretty bad. This is the End was much better.
No it wasn't.
Green Room! I absolutely love this Movie... it's one of the best!👌Excellent!
Blue Valentine was amazing. Changed my perspective on relationships forever.
Some other underrated films in my opinion....
~Frozen (Not the Disney Movie)
~Annihilation
~The Gift
~The Crazies
~Silent House
~Tusk
~Wind River
A list like this was made for one film and one film only
Unbreakable
Unfortunately Shyamalan broke its mythos with the POS Glass...
Love Unbreakable! Will be watching it with my son soon.
the thing with the girl with the dragon tatoo is that the originel version (the millennium trilogy) is way better
Way, WAY better.
Yeah and being Swedish I need to shout out to another Swe original
Let the right one in. 👍
100%
@@mojoarmstretch7261 Let the right one in was superb no need for a remake

1 - In time
2 - prisoners

4. The girl with the dragon tatoo
5. The world's end
6. Iron man 3
7. Macbeth
8. Swiss army man
9. Green room
10. Super
Macbeth and At World's End are both pretty good. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is good, too. 10 Cloverfield Lane is a sequel i didn't expect to be good.
And really? Iron Man 3 is the one I hear the most about. I wouldn't consider it underrated.
10 cloverfield lane was awesome, i liked them all actually, but goodman was dope af in this one. well, opinions differ...
also I don't think it was planned as a cloverfield sequel but as a standalone..... I actually watched it first without knowin bout the other cloverfield movies, which was pretty fun, cause i had no idea if there wwere aliens or if he was nuts
@@TOKRocK84 I'd say 10 Cloverfield Lane is the best imo, but yeah they're all good.
Aren't we still in the 2010s?
loved it!!! a new sub from me keep up the good work
10 trough 6 never herd of. After that smooth sailing ⛵️ Great list 👍🏾
"The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" was fuckin brilliant! The original was equally as good too, with Noomi Repace and Mara both delivering easily two of the greatest acting performances of all time. Im not exaggerating either, when i say just how brilliant they were in these two films, it's a fuckin crime that neither get the credit, attention, or praise for their performances. Repace did at the time win a number of European film awards, which was far more than what Mara received. It's an outrage Mara didn't win best actress that year! It wasn't just Mara's acting that was great, the story, the cinematography, the rest of the cast's performances - all of it, was fuckin excellent as well. Both of these films did a awesome job adapting what is without question one of the greatest mystery/suspense/thriller novels of all time. I can't understand why they didn't immediately make the sequel, (I know it was because they spent a shit ton of money making it, and it didn't do great in the theaters for some reason, but it didn't do thaaaat bad, and they really didn't need a huge budget to produce good films of the rest of the Millennium Trilogy). I've never seen the soft-rebooted sequel that came out a couple years back and I don't intend to, once i found out Mara wasn't in it i was completely turned off.
Dude i just watched Green room last night, what are the odds to find this today here, awesome movie.
jose angel bonfil the same thing has happened to me before. It’s the government man, they know everything lol
Google is watching you.
Yeah, the odds are pretty good actually. It is the whole basis of most the internet's economical system...
I didn't see this version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but I thoroughly enjoyed the original and its sequel.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The world is criminally underrated
Super is Gold, one of the best superhero movies ever
Take Shelter most underrated movie of the 2010s hands down
Blue Valentine is one of my favourite movies. It's a beautiful full arcing love story with lush character development
It blows my mind how hard I turned around on Iron Man 3 over the years lol
I LOATHED it when I first saw it, and now it's one of my favorites.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was pretty good but the 2009 Swedish trilogy is superior in my opinion. Noomi Rapace killed and Michael Nyqvist is a great actor too. The pacing is slower but knew they had time with it being all filmed at once which helped develop the story and flush out the characters IMO.
Noomi sucks in all american movies though
@@jr-vp3it The remake was a british production. The brits keep remaking nonAmerican movies badly and reset them into American settings and call them American remakes, which, of course, they never are. Americans never see them and want to see the originals instead, as they always do.
I always see IMDB and RT the same way I see the Oscars, as how a select group of people see things. So to blanket a statement as under rated, then sure, to that specific group of people it is. In other words it does not show a good example of the majority of what people think and therefore should only be presented as their point of view and not how the majority think as was presented in the video. Hell a good example is in the video with Iron Man 3. it made a billion dollars. Very few films do this and they only do it if people see the same movie over and over in the theater. So tell me how can a movie be loved by the majority of film goers and be underrated... oh right, it can't. Now it can be underrated by the small group who give their scores on these sights. True underrated films can't make a billion dollars.
I have never understood this fascination with CZcams videos etc using Rotten Tomatoes like it is some kind of bible of films.
You only have to look at the critic scores vs audience scores to see its a fairly worthless site.
If I ever take any notice of scores on there it will always be the audience scores, yet so many CZcamsrs and websites will quote critic scores because usually they are the worst score, and then they can justify their little articles.
Just as an example, Justice League gets a lowly 40% from critics, but a 71% from the viewing public. Were they to use the audience score, they would no longer be able to justify using it in their articles because while 71% is not amazing, it is also not actually that bad a score, especially when you consider the first MCU Captain America film only scores 3% higher.
Granted, those scores can be manipulated by fanboys, but by the same token they could be down voted by the same method.
Of course it can go the other way such as with Ghostbusters 2016 where the critics give it 74% and audience 50%.
Good list, nice to see Super and Coherence get some love
Blue Valentine was as depressing as Leaving Las Vegas, but I think BV's ending was much harder to watch. I can still hear the crying from...don't want to give it away.
Nobody I ask knows Whiplash! Pretty underrated imo
eh...no
totally over rated
Predestination is an amazing movie and totally underrated. One of my favourite movies of all time.
Oof
Mine too!
The Other Guys and The Grey are 2 that pop into my head.
two movies are really utterly underated that I loved, In The End and Coherence
Bad Times at the El Royale should be here. Amazing movie. Not enough saw it.
Gotta be looper
I've seen all of these movies, except for Macbeth...I didn't even know it existed. It looks badass, definitely going to be checking it out
"The Air We Breathe"....AMAZING!!!!!! Forest Whittaker, Brendan Frasier, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Bacon. The cast is just super dynamic and the plot is amazing and it all doesnt come together until the very end. I was enthralled from moment #1 the last. Honestly, do yourself a favor and watch it.
