I just got back from my six month X-ray appointment, and I’m literally SO happy right now! Turns out, my old doctor had me in the wrong type of brace the entire time...I’ve been in a Boston brace for a year, and I only needed a nighttime brace all along! My curves have gotten slightly better, and I don’t need the brace anymore!!! I can’t explain how happy I am right now.
Rae how much was it? And what was your degree?? Mine is like 35* so I’m not sure if that’s too far.
Mine is at like 33 degrees is that bad?

33 degrees is kind of getting up there, but not bad enough for surgery. I’m guessing you doctor would recommend physical therapy and a back brace to keep it from reaching 45-50 degrees which is when they usually start recommending surgery.

I have a 24.9 degree curve and the minimum for a brace is 25 (no joke) my six month appointment is in January and I’m hoping I’ll be done then
I have minor scoliosis but they didn't want me to have a back brace but when I stand up for a long time only my left hip hurts
i wear my day one at my night time one.
I wear mine the whole day so yay me

first off hi army and second i just wear mine after i get out of school even though i'm supposed to wear my brace all day.
Mickayla hiii and I wear my brace too and no don’t do that please if they say wear it to school or for 20 hours a days please wear it because if you don’t it may not really be helping so please wear as much as you can
My brace is a all time brace
I need a brace .. my scoliosis on my right upper shoulder is bad.
I didn’t know there is day and night braces. My son has a all day - Boston brace but his orthopedic said he could wear at night if he couldn’t wear during the day.
I had an option, I chose night (It actually helped me sleep! NO LIES)

you have different times there is day, night (I have a night brace), and if you have it bad, you have to wear it all hours.
What was your curve when u got it? Mine was 10 and it just shot up to 18 so idk if I have to get one.

I wanted to wear this but I can't choose so I have to wear the all day and night one pretty much everyday :/
I have minor scoliosis
I had to wear this and then it really didnt help me so i needed surgery. Im 2 months post op and never will have to wear this ever again.
Did you do the surgery? What was your degree of sicliosis
@@al-shaimaamosaad5767 sorry for such a late reply. I did not voluntary choose to have the surgery my doctor was like you absolutely need the surgery your lungs are already being twisted and if you never get the surgery your gonna live a very painful life. I had a s curve top curve was 55 degrees and the bottom was 46 degrees. I got 2 titanium rods and 19 screws. With the surgery my top curve is now 24 degrees and my bottom is now 13 degrees.

hey my 10 year old daughter has just started to wear one at night should she wear shirts under the brace or not and any tips to help would be great she has a hard time dealing with it

Currently, I have a full time brace. I struggle with it a lot and I really want a nighttime brace. I just don’t know whether it will be better in the long run.
I just got a night time brace and its usually only ment to stop future curvature nor correct it

I was rushed to the hospital for having 2 episodes of syncope, which can cause you to pass out, while they were checking my heart in a scan,they found out I had scoliosis, so rather than going home knowing I was diagnosed with only 1 thing I found out I was diagnosed with 2
I have one and it’s pretty ok. U can’t really tell. It might just limit you from clothes you want to wear*realizes it’s from 3 years ago* ^if you want to hide the brace. But yeah :)
how many hour do u have to wear a brace
Depends on how bad the curve is
I have to wear mine all day because I have a 50.2 degree curve but if it’s like 20 degrees or something I think probably less like 8-20 hours 😉
Ill wear my future one (dads making an appointment) for 18 hours but im at 23 degrees. I dont know about other people but this is just me
This particular brace is usually worn between 8-10 hours at a time. Wear time can be extended by sitting in a bean bag chair watching tv before bedtime.
Can adults wear this? I heard it doesn't help adults..
It can not be worn by adults.
It is meant to correct scoliosis with growth, surgery may be the only way to correct adult scoliosis
I want to get a day time one and a night time one I only have a nighttime one but I have to wear it all day and to school but it’s all bulky and ugly
I don't wear those but i have to wear a soft one that's uncomfy coz it makes me wanna throw up
That’s how I got those special privileges at school haha, I’d knock my pencil over just to make my friend pick it up lmao
