UPDATE: To discover the transmutes, you must use Transmutagens! In this video I use a material, this is no longer allowed. You just use the correct Transmutagen based off the node you unlock. As of 7/25 (the latest Beta Build from this week), once specced into Thaumaturgy high enough, it is giving x3 Gleaming Transmutagens per craft instead of x1. If this stays, this will significant lower the value of Blasphemite.
Is discovering transmutations from Thaumaturgy working on live? I am specced into Ominous and have done 200+ Thaumaturgy on cloth and haven't discovered a single transmute
Its crazy, ive been playing since 2004 and have only ever leveled 2-3 toons to max each expansion but for TWW i will have 17 thanks to remix and the raw gold making opportunities with world quests. Alt armies unite!
I will have 15 70s at launch - created evokers on 7 different servers starting at lvl 58. Didn’t do remix, but didn’t really need to. Looking forward to some armies!
Hey, love your videos, and love goldmaking in wow in general. One thing I haven't seen anyone do a video on yet: the release of concentration in the prepatch has made for some interesting goldmaking opportunities. I'm an enchanter on the main, and using weapon enchants as an example, under the inspiration system the cost of an enchant was roughly equivalent to 2.5x the material cost... but with concentration, you can guarantee R3 a number of times per day. So instantly I saw 150% profit on my crafts. Maybe worth doing a quick video on?
Thank you for sharing! It could have been A LOT shorter (lol), but I went from zero to hero in terms of knowing what I want to do at launch. So, thank you! :)
Thaumaturgy is not for alts. The purpose of Thaumaturgy is to convert rank 2 materials (which are about as cheap as rank 1 materials) into rank 3 materials. This can only be done with concentration and a lot of points in thaumaturgy (or being completly maxed out), because you need to reach rank 2 to be able to concentrate on rank 3. Everything else is a loss because you will be converting 20 material into 10 material of roughly the same cost. The entire transmutagen+gem crafting is just a tiny bonus ontop of what you are actually doing with the mats.
If the cauldron stays listed as a crafting reagent and doesn't go BoP like the one for DF stuff then it's possible it'll get posted up on the AH at drastically reduced prices after not too long because of multicraft procs.
the transmute for all 4 warband members seems crucial to setup asap. nice guide. I didn't like Alchemy much in Dragonflight. But it seems fixed / better in War Within. Great video.

Planning to get into professions for the first time in TWW, these guides are going to help a lot. One question I've been struggling to find an answer to, how much do the racial bonuses to professions matter? Trying to decide between leveling separate characters of specific races or just using the alts I already have.
Thanks for watching and good luck with professions! If you want an in-depth review of Racials, check out my profession combo video - that goes over them in detail. In short, they won’t matter as much compared to DF but are still beneficial
Hopefully transmuting is actually worth it for a decent time. In dragonflight the main advantage of Dracothyst was I seemingly saved mats on every transmute which is what made it worth it. Think I maybe ever multicrafted 2.
Thanks. As these profs have become more confusing. I use profs just for my play and in DF I spent the KPs poorly. This time Im more likely to just hold them for a while because what I want to know is where to put the KPs smartly so I can make items for myself.
TWW is actually more forgiving for casuals. With the RNG in DF, you could never guarantee a rank vs in TWW if you are casual you will have the concentration needed to take your crafted item of the day to the next rank. It's very clever while keeping the master crafters and goblins busy with an alt army, cooldowns and scraping for more concentration. It also means casuals might be able to use their leftover concentration wisely to make just a couple of items each day that they can monetize on AH or offer something on trade chat. It's going to keep casual crafters afloat, I hope.
28:28 the node specifically says you can discover it only when using Thaumaturgy on the Volatile Transmutagen, how did you end up discovering it from using Thaumturgy on some ore 28:45? I ended up using 25k gold in mats just to discover it, and yes it came only from the transmutagen, not the mats.

Hello Penguin, amazing video as always, just one question about alt army gold making whit proffesions, is ok to lvl up one car to max and alts can stay at lvl 70 and just go to expa and take profe? Thx
Hi, not sure youll see this, but im mainly looking to just bulk craft stuff for raiders and post to AH. Would you say phials or potions are more in demand? I dont think as many people use the BiS potion on raid compared to phials, but they also only last 30 sec as opposed to 30 min
You will honestly be fine with either. Crafters/gatherers will be buying phials which fall under the same tree as Flasks. If you want to knock both of those out, you can go into phials/flask crafting. Some Potions will likely also end up on BiS lists, so those will be fine as well. I think it just comes down to personal preference
@Penguin hey, do you think you can drop all your twinks who are level 70 in the new capital immediately, i.e. fly there and practice professions? Or are there any problems or restrictions? ^^
In order to unlock Profession Weeklies, you need to complete the campaign on your main. Once you do so, youll unlock adventure mode and then youll have no issues flying all your 70s in and doing professions as normal
Been thinking about going with alchemy this expansion, but it seems like SO many others are doing alchemy, too. Should I not even bother? I don’t really play with alts, just my main, so I’m sure herbalism would go with it.
Whatever profession you choose, you will have competition but youll also have profit. In terms of the Alt Army strategy with Blasphemite... that really will just depend on Supply vs. Demand. For example, in DF we had the limited Dracothyst cooldown craft which was anticipated to do very well.... turns out the demand was not nearly as high as people thought and the market did a lot worse than expected (still profitable but it went from selling at 20k a piece to around 3-5k). Blasphemite potentially has a bigger market since it is used for epic quality gems that are currently not BOP (meaning you can buy them off the AH) which is way better than Dracothyst simply being used in Enchanted Crest for BoP crafted gear. Of course, if its easy to mass produce through the Thaumaturgy trait combined with how many alchemists that will be crafting it, only time will tell how good it truly is.
@@Penguinr2gt Thank you. One more thing, if I may. Since I don’t play alts would it be best to pair alchemy with herbalism or do you think it would be worth it to go double crafting and buy the mats?
Gathering profs only work if you take the time to gather - and as a crafter, you can never self sustain yourself. I always recommend to buy mats unless you have very very very little gold and need to start from scratch
Thank you for this awesome and well explained video ! I have a question regarding knowledge points (if you have the answer in the beta which i'm not sure about), in order to get a maximum amount of them, would the alt army need to be max level to be able to do some weekly quest like the ones we have in DF ? Or there are new ways for level 70 alts to get a lot of them without having to do the quests on each of them ? Thanks again !
Once you hit level 80 on one toon, youll unlock adventure mode where youll have access to weeklies/profession things at level 70 on your alts. Youll still need to do the quests on each toon
You should have access to all crafting professions assuming you want to do crafting … so you’ll need 4 toons. If you think you’ll also gather, you’ll want 2 more toons to cover gathering professions as well
@@Penguinr2gt thanks. I also wanted to ask, since i've never tried gold making at a start of an expansion. Do you max lvl all your alts? Just your main? or a few of em?
How many levels towards 80 can you get just crafting ? Is leveling to 80 necessary? I didn’t craft in DF but I want some alchemy toons but I’ll never do anything but craft on them
You will need to hit level 80 on at least one character to unlock adventure mode. Once you do that, your alts can come in and go straight to professions/weeklies as a level 70.
Wait so Blasphemite ISN'T actually in fact technically timegated? You can just spam create it without any time limits? That makes the whole alt army for daily cd thing seem a lot less lucrative... Edit: ah yeah I read the other comment and see this was added only recently, explains why reddit hyped it up so much then. I'm definitely not doing 60x alchemist army on my account now though
Yea, like I mentioned in that other comment since last week it technically is no longer time gated once you put in enough points into thaumaturgy. This is the first beta change that has had that though…. It’s very possible they will adjust those numbers again… during my crafting it seemed like I got a gleaming every thaumaturgy craft while others have said they haven’t , if blizz messes with that %, they will drastic determine the availability of blasphemite. You also have to be careful about costs… even if we can mass produce blasphemite, if it’s more expensive than the people doing the cooldown way, it likely wont be sustainable to mass produce. Just a simple example but if you can produce 1 blasphemite for 500g the cooldown way, while mass producing through thaumaturgy costs 2000g, blasphemite may be on the AH for 1000g so the only way you make profit is through cooldowns, etc. I would just wait it out before making a full decision on going in with an alt army or not if you are worried.
Can’t you just put points into the main specialization in thaumaturgy to get the perc where you gain gleaming transmutagens from performing acts of thaumaturgy right away ? and just perform acts of thurmatogy to get all your gleaming transmutations instead of doing the daily accrued transmutes ? And then find a cheap mat like let’s say …. Storm dust to do acts of Thaumaturgy on over and over to get the one gleaming transmutation over and over and just print unlimited blasphemites that way ? Or is there no efficient way to print storm dust yet ? Would this be not cost efficient in the long run compared to the alt army method with the daily cooldowns is that why that’s not a thing ? You understand what I’m saying ?
Great question! As of recording the video, the x1 gleaming perk was newly introduced in beta and definitely caused a hit to the value of transmutes/blasphemite due to you now being able to mass produce it. However, transmutes still had a chance since 1600 materials (80 crafts at 20 a piece) could be a lot more expensive than transmutes. Of course if Blasphemite was still above that cost threshold, then theres a ton of profit, and transmutes would just make even more profit, but lets say it costs 3200g to make a blasphemite via Thaumaturgy crafts while it only costs 1000g via transmutes (due to less materials required)... blasphemite could settle at like 1500g where only the transmute method is profitable. However, as of writing this comment and the latest beta build that came out on Wednesday of this week... Blizz has really really killed the Blasphemite costs/profit. As of right now, once you are specced into Thaumaturgy, you are receiving x3 Gleamings per craft instead of the x1. So now you only need to do 24 crafts of Thaumaturgy to make a Blasphemite. This significantly cuts down on materials needed/costs and will make Blasphemite way less valuable. The way it looks now, Id definitely consider going into Thaumaturgy first to just mass produce Blasphemite, but even if you do, Blasphemite seems like its going to get pretty cheap. 24 crafts means 480 materials which is significantly less than before. I'd personally just keep an eye out on updates before making a final decision. Blizzard is still playing around with all the transmute things and they will ultimately have to decide how important the Transmutes will be vs just mass crafting. At the start of beta, the Blasphemite craft itself had a cooldown that was then removed. Its very possible that they might consider bringing that back if they want it to be a valuable craft. Or, blizz may decide that they dont want Blasphemite as hard to get as they originally planned. Hope that helps!
@@Penguinr2gtI just tested it you are right it’s giving 3 gleamings now …. That will be BAD profession design for blasphemite if they don’t put a cooldown back on them ….. getting blasphemite will LITERALLY be as easy as farming cloth off open world 2x4 humanoid mobs ….. not exaggerating at all ….. as of right now their value will be as high as rank 1 reaver cloth ….. because thats all you will have to use thaumaturgy on to craft endless blasphemites …..😂 wtf are they thinking making a epic quality reagent that easy to obtain ?
Isn't the 5 point specialization in "Volatile Materials" bugged? It says "You may now discover Volatile Transmutations by performing Thaumaturgy ON Volatile Transumtagen", in the video you just kept doing Thaumaturgy on HERBS and not the Transmutagens themselves, which you can do. Or am I just interpreting wrong?
Yes, a lot of the tooltips arent working exactly how they are worded atm/some are mismatched. The tooltip in the ominous tree actually has the same exact wording as the Mercurial one (including using Mercurial Transmutagens lol) and those will obviously be corrected in future beta builds. Theres a bit of a blurred line right now between "___ Transmutagens" meaning the actual transmutagen themselves or the transmutagens + their respective mats in their category. Either way, I shouldnt have been able to discover the Volatile recipe since I used Bismuth, an Omnious material. On live, I would expect to pick a category based on the types of materials you plan to use in Thaumaturgy, and if it is just limited to the transmutagen item, youll be able to get some easily.
When i tried to replicate today it was using Thaumaturgy on the actual Transmutagen (e.g Ominous Transmutagen), not raw mats, that was giving recipe discovery.
Vanilla one is pretty easy to get if you dont have any other expansions. Theres basically a philosopher stone in every expansion, so I would look at your recipes and see if you have one already. Perks of vanilla is if you level high enough to get Transmute Master, you can start doing old world daily cooldowns as well and make even more gold.
Each expansion's philosopher stone pertains to THAT expansion. So having one from another expansion is not going to help you if you do alchemy for TWW. My man is alchemist since vanilla and has a collection of philosopher stones... I never use!
We still aren’t exactly sure of the amount of KPs you can get right off the bat and weekly. What we do know is that there’s 8 treasures for each profession - so you’ll automatically be able to pick up 24 points (8*3), then you have all of your first craft bonuses and then we have the weekly quests/gatherable. The weeklies haven’t worked well in beta yet so we can’t narrow down the points exactly but it’ll likely be a similar weekly point gain compared to DF. Additionally, we have NPC crafting orders that are another source of KPs and there’s a handful of one time purchases you can buy (they are in the spreadsheet in the description). I’ll have a KP dedicated video once we have more concrete information.
@@Penguinr2gt I think I confused the video from another channel. Thank you for your work, you're the boss! Do you plan to make a video about how to use alts for professions, including old world? :D
Obviously if you want to craft potions/other items for profit, you want to go into other trees. But someone making an alt army for Blasphemite specifically, there’s no point into learning phials, potions, etc. “too expensive” is relative to how much gold have to spend
@@Sourlife. Mats are very expensive at the start of an expansion. It's a good way to recycle cheap materials into more pricey one later on. The only exception would be the need for JC to acquire that special gem only Alchemists can make but even that could drive the price of JC beyond the means of most players.
that 1 gleaming transmutagen ruins all. You need only 1600 t1 any reagent, which probably cost around 1500-2k gold to create one epic gem without cd or even more cheaper. And also as bonus you get profit from taumutology itself. So army of alts in terms of mass transmutations doesnt have any sence, becouse you can get 1 epic gem per 2 days with transmutation. And its 500-1k gold per day on begining of expansion..its nothing. Also add to this multicraft procs.. Its same as world quest reward.. same as dracotyst, 100-200g profit from 1 charge with full profession optimization.
Keep in mind that this is still beta. The ability to earn 1 gleaming was just put in last update and some players have reported that they dont always get 1... however in my testing I always did. Im sure blizz will ensure that the transmute route is viable. That being said, with so many people making alts, we dont know what the supply of blasphemite will be compared to demand - cooldown limited or not. Eventually prices will be down to 1gish per reagent, but that isnt going to be how it is at the very start.
This video is terrible, trust me don't watch it. No one should watch it but me. There's no useful information here. No one should even be an alchemist. Bad profession. Just buy all your pots and flasks and phials. It's so much easier that way. Just buy them! . . . . . . Evil greedy laugh

@@Penguinr2gt ah okay cool, thanks for quick help^^
Great guide thank you
Been thinking about going with alchemy this expansion, but it seems like SO many others are doing alchemy, too.
How does a lot of alts help alchemy? alt army?
I wish you made pvp guides as well good voice good info no attitude.
I appreciate you watching the videos! I sadly no nothing about PvP xD
@@Penguinr2gt Thanks a lot for the answer ! :)
What would you say is the recommended minimum amount of alts you should have?
You should have access to all crafting professions assuming you want to do crafting … so you’ll need 4 toons. If you think you’ll also gather, you’ll want 2 more toons to cover gathering professions as well
We have two accounts with 127 alts total. You can have up to 65 characters on one account.
What tools etc should I get for my alts or does it matter since I’m just sfter the daily craft
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Quick question, i am trying to get an Alchemist stone form my alts but i don't know where to get one, the older versions of it. Any ideas?
Easiest to get is Pandaria. All you need is to learn pandarian alchemy, then craft it which costs like 3 golden lotuses
@@Penguinr2gt Thanks a lot i have been trying to find this info for like 3 hours and the prices for the Classic Stone are nuts..
getting a philosopher's stone is actually pretty hard
All you need to do is go pick up pandarian alchemy. You immediately get the recipe and it costs 3 golden lotus
@@Penguinr2gt oh ty :D i did the bfa one instead
keep up good work
Can’t you just put points into the main specialization in thaumaturgy to get the perc where you gain gleaming transmutagens from performing acts of thaumaturgy right away ? and just perform acts of thurmatogy to get all your gleaming transmutations instead of doing the daily accrued transmutes ?
@@Penguinr2gtyes that was a very detailed response that explained it all very well .😅 I hope they put a cooldown back on blasphemite
Two thumbs up ... ty
This is great!!!!❤
Question: for a new alt what is the easiest way to make a philosopher's stone? Level classic alchemy to 50 and create one? Thanks!
On Beta I just went to the Alchemy trainer in SW and there was a supplies vendor that sold a "fleeting philosophers stone" for 332 gold.
All philosophers stones work for transmutes that need them, doesn’t have to be from the same expansion.
What is time scale to full production levels? How many KP can we get in a week/month max to start this?
I’ll have a KP dedicated video once we have more concrete information.

my professions equipaments will continue the same? or i cant use the dragonflight professions equipaments in the TWW professions?
You will need to craft the new TWW ones for this expansion.

In experiment recommend using low tier or high tier herbs?
At the start, whatever is cheapest to do as many experiments as you can for recipes
@@Penguinr2gt thanks!
what happened to the alt army video? It just disappeared
Not sure what you mean?
@@Penguinr2gt I think I confused the video from another channel. Thank you for your work, you're the boss! Do you plan to make a video about how to use alts for professions, including old world? :D
do i need to put knowledge points into another specialization besides Thaumarturgy, if i only want to craft blasphemite?
If blasphemite is your only goal, then nope!
I would never start with thaumarturgy its to expensive at the beginning
@@dualSpec1 what do you mean beeing to expensive?
Obviously if you want to craft potions/other items for profit, you want to go into other trees. But someone making an alt army for Blasphemite specifically, there’s no point into learning phials, potions, etc. “too expensive” is relative to how much gold have to spend
@@Sourlife. Mats are very expensive at the start of an expansion. It's a good way to recycle cheap materials into more pricey one later on. The only exception would be the need for JC to acquire that special gem only Alchemists can make but even that could drive the price of JC beyond the means of most players.
myco is pronounced myko
that 1 gleaming transmutagen ruins all.
