Heyho Charlie here, you can run this mod with Optifine and shaders, i did. It depends on the forge version i guess, bc 1 worked and the other didnt. I think i got the newest and it worked, but im not sure anymore which i used. But 1 of the following was working for me " 1.19.3-44.1.0" or "1.19.3-44.1.23"
On entity kill it crashes my game, is there a reason? Also you can run it with shaders if you use 1.19.4 and oculus. Im pretty sure this is the only way

1:34 You can use shaders as far as I know You don't necessarily need to use optifine to be able to use shaders, there's an alternative which is using the forge port of sodium "rubidium" along with the forge port of iris "oculus". With those 2 mods you can use any shader just fine without breaking any animations (I believe) Didn't really try it as my pc is trash and shaders kinda destroy my fps, but if optifine is what breaks the animations, then it should work.
I FOUND OUT HOW TO USE THIS MOD WITH SHADERS If your shader has settings for "Entity shadows" make sure it is turned OFF, it fixes all of the cave dweller animations for me

Great showcase. The mod is a bit overrated imo. I also thought that it will use the default cave noises as an indicator that the cave dweller is near, kind of disaplointment that it only grunts.
Yeah, I can agree with you on the overrated part. Greater mods than this have recieved much less attention on CZcams, but it was fun to play around with for a little bit at least
@@OnMod The mod creator isn't even a minecraft channel so i don't expect him to update this mod, it won't last long for sure. It would be an awesome mob if it was included in other mod or in a modpack however. It would fit Scape & Run: Parasites perfectly for example as an advanced version of assimilated enderman, idk, that won't happen. However very cool mod to play around for a while, but it starts getting rather annoying than scary due to how hardly avoidable and random the cave dweller is (excluding the fact that you can just stack up 3 block high to prevent getting killed) .
It is not overrated. There isn't any similar mods that do the same or a similar thing at all. Most horror mods in MC are trash in comparison. That being said, the mod does have a lot of problems that could be easily be fixed but the creator said he is not gonna update it and that anyone is free to update, fix bugs and add new features if they want to.
@@Kamil_Srnka Yeah he said that he will not update the mod at all. However, he left it there for anyone to update it, port it to other versions, etc. The question is... Will anyone actually do it? I would if I knew anything about coding or modding but I don't lol.

@@relativCharlie yeah you can, i tried 1.20 and it gave me an error saying it works with 1.19.3 and above but not 1.20
Solution to the Cavedweller build up a few blocks I’m not saying the mob is poorly made, but it’s kind of just like an Enderman, but more violent
I have the Cave Dweller and Optifine together, just take the last Forge version (44.1.23 - 1.19.3)
