I have never watched a full baseball game in my life... but watching all these compilations, I'm having more respect for the catchers than pitchers. Holy cow what cannons they have to fire all the time.
The individual teams have people who look at the replays and they can ask to challenge the play. Then a separate team of umpires in New York looks at the replay and decides the call. So the short answer is yes.
I have this one question: if there are two outs and if the runner is thrown out at second and the batter has a 2-1 count on him, does he bats again in the next inning from the beginning?
@@euphorize5336 How is that possible? The batter is in the batter box, the runner is trying to steal second or third base and is called out for the third out and the batter isn't finished or even gets a chance to swing and is done? If that's true, in my opinion, that needs to be changed because it's not fair to the batter.
@@ethantaylor9867 Thanks. That is what I want to know. I just wanted to know if he gets to bat first or he loses his turn at bat. What you're saying is, let's saying Mets vs Phillies. A Mets player's on first base, tries to steal second and gets thrown out at second, causing the third out. The Mets batter who's at home plate with a 2-1 count, the inning's over. So, that same Mets batter who had a 2-1 count in the previous inning is first at bat in the next inning with a 0-0 reset count. That's correct, right?
There are obviously ones on here that probably got reviewed and the call was changed to safe. Not trying to be that guy but not sure why you would include them in this video. I wouldnt call that an amazing catcher play.
I could watch catchers do that all day.
Ong I just love it when they catch people stealing
catchers deserve more recognition

1:24 "pitch in the dirt" on a strike call 😅
The throw-out from catcher to 2nd is one of my favorite calls as an umpire the other one is a rotation from 1st to home and a call out.
50% of the time the guy catching the ball and applying the tag is amazing too!
The coolest thing to see is a catcher throw down.
So, a solo Maldonado compilation coming up or something?
3 blue jays catchers in this video is impressive
Those umps get so jacked up on the out call 😂
2:53 is an absolutely amazing catch from a poor throw by the catcher…..
As a catcher these are really good catchers

Does MLB have VAR (replays) to see if the runner touches the base first ?

Bruh, these are plays made as a position player, not as a hitter.

Es el más flojo que he visto,Iván Rodríguez es humilde..
Anonymous will be lobbying on behalf of Pete Rose being eligible for the Hall of Fame. It's a Cooperstown decision. Not an MLB decision.
Mr PENCE a national hero the only republican the USA could truly trust.
Not relevant to catchers making great plays.
