    Our Walmart does not carry the Waverly brand of chalk paint where I live in Canada, occasionally they have the small
    8 oz bottles of Folk Art, but they do not keep the paint area well stocked period. I find Michael's prices for chalk paint too expensive, even with a coupon.
    I did have an individual suggest I use calcium carbonate & acrylic paint mixed to make my own chalk paint, she's used it on restored furniture for years, I have yet to try it.
    I just use my base primer/acrylic paint method, continues to work well for me.
    Interesting demonstration, nice to see products compared. Thanks Cindy!

    😇🌷 I have only tried the Waverly Chalk Paint, and I also find that using a sponge brush or makeup spong, on glass it comes out much better, than using a regular paint brush, because it doesn't leave any streaks.😊 I Thank YOU for sharing the different chalk paints.🎨🖌️

    Cindy, I use Kilz all the time for furniture. It does take multiple coats but I expect that for a piece of furniture. What I really like about it is that it’s as hard as the dickens and once it’s been polyurethane you really end up with a piece that is pretty indestructible, especially if you age it down, which I do. My favorite craft paint is indeed Waverly and the truth of the matter is because of the colors that are available. I am really excited to hear that you can buy it from them direct and have access to the 31 colors. This was super interesting because it gave me an opportunity to see what could be done and what the outcome was like. Thanks so much for sharing. I am very grateful for your knowledge! Be safe and well!

  • @thatscraftable4820
    @thatscraftable4820 Před 4 lety +2

    I usually pretty much use Waverly but I have bought folk art and have bought craftsman as well and actually I recently picked up Martha Stewart paint at Michaels but it was only because I needed a specific color and they only had it in that brand that day lol. I have also tried hot humble pie's recipe where you add the baby powder (with talc not corn starch) and must say I've been loving that lately!! I seen a video where you tried that too!! I do a lot of picking up the mark down paint at Lowe's lol so I use that too ♥️
