I've been using this method for a few years now and it's absolutely perfect! Thanks for making it a video to show everyone! Good job!

Great video. I have been unable to clean the inside of the tank on my Kawasaki to my satisfaction and will give this a go. One observation I made: The green pad you used on the exterior has a tendency to scratch plastic. I suggest trying the blue Scotch-Brite non-scratch sponges (that may be found at the grocer's, alongside dishwashing products). I think the blue pads are made from a recycled plastic material, so they don't tend to scratch softer materials while still being very effective.

Rather than rice use a flat link chain as on sink plugs and swish that around to get the hard to reach area

Good result. Putting in some small gravel (aquarium gravel or equivalent) and giving it a good shake can help loosen up the stubborn debris BUT only on single-skin coolant expansion tanks. Some coolant tanks (such as on Peugeot 206 etc) have a double wall and cleaning them and getting the stones out afterwards is somewhat challenging.

This inspired me to try oxyclean spray and it worked so fucking good with a toothbrush to scrub it.

I would avoid the harsh chemicals, sometimes these will compromise the integrity of the plastic and decrease the life span of the tank leading to cracks and leaks.

How has this tank held up? Did the bleach do anything to the structure of the plastic or the seam?
