Butterfly Milkweed Tuberosa propagation

1) Use any potting soil to propagate tuberosa.
2)Put seeds in damp sand in the refrigerator for1month
3) sprinkle soil over seed in 20-4" pot container flats. Do not bury seeds.
4) in full sun keep damp and seeds should germinate in a week or two.
5) pinch off top set of leaves when at least 2 sets of primary leaves have grown
6) let grow for 4-8 weeks in 4" pots
7) Plant in ground in 1 gallon hole leveling plant with ground level and press air out compacting soil anytime of the year
8) water occasionally until you see new growth and when there hasn't been rain for 1 month thereafter. www.wildflower.org/plants/resu...

First time I've ever stratified milkweed or any other plant and your directions were exactly to the T I'm telling you and anyone who watches this video on point to the T go with the 4-inch pot. Thank you

I started about 6 plants this summer, and transplanted them to different pots several times as they grew. I also have bunches of common milkweed all around the edges of my property, yet I had about 5 monarch caterpillars on them. I finally put them into the ground in September with good soils amended with spent brewers grain.

I live in Michigan with 10 acres and a great deal of milkweed and butterfly weed. I find more Monarch caterpillars on the Butterfly weed than Common Milkweed.

I have a monarch watch garden with a variety of milkweeds - tuberosa worked just fine for me

For someone that's never done anything like this before how would I go about selling a flat of 20 milkweed to a local nusery or local farmers market?

Pretty Bird Take em over and show them to them They have to pay at least $20 a flat from any local. grower.

@@craigthebutterflyman4387 well I took your advice and I got 4 in pots and I stratify them for 30 days in the fridge and they sprouted within a week and I will keep you posted.
