- In this seminar, Arman Hezarkhani answers these three questions for students: What is Cloud? What is GCP? And, how can you get started?
Arman is a Teacher’s Assistant for a Computer Science lecture at Carnegie Mellon and is taking part in his second internship at Google as a Developer Programs Engineer. He shares his valuable perspective of Google Cloud Platform as someone who works on improving the developer experience and helping beginners get started.

He got nervous in the beginning. He said his name 3 times during the introduction, tripped a little bit yet it was hardly noticeable. But I like the way he picked himself back up as if nothing happened.
Plus, I think his directions should tailor more to the audience's directions when it comes to describing right or left and so forth.
Nice recovery, commanding presence and follow through though! I enjoyed his interaction with the crowd and engagement of the topic.

This is super helpful! I hope Google will do more student led presentation. I think many Google youtube presentation assumes a level of sophistication and experience that new users may not have. The presenter brings it down to the right level of context. Thx

I'm just 5 minutes in and this is already the most impactful resource on cloud and cloud computing I've come across since I started learning about it last month.
What a crisp and clear presentation! so well articulated and explained for newbies using simple words and examples. This was the first ever presentation that caught my attention right from the start up until the very end. Brilliant and truly inspiring Arman!

I'm pretty sure we're now looking at one of the leaders of any lucky organization to have this amazing professional as an employee. This is from 2018, fast-forward now to 2022, I wish I knew what this guy is doing nowadays.

I did it so you dont have to: He basically did the internship at google (like in the Video), from where he then graduated and founded his own Company which seems to be specialized in financial Education for younger people. :)

Very good presentation by Arman. Covered the basics that I really wanted to know. Also covered some good demos on using GCP. The only thing I wish was covered was about the different components or services that make up GCP in a bit more depth like compute, storage, network etc. But overall a good presentation by Arman. Would love to see more presentations from him.

When you run software on a machine it's called computing but when it's the other way around it becomes cloud computing: Software managing hardware. And it's powered by the Internet. No Internet, no cloud.

Haha, good catch. I'm betting these guys at spotify and CocaCola didn't have the DECENCY to call the google crews to record them while they were sleep deprived to meet some impossible deadlines, instead they record this whole thing months after, and just used some studio non-compromising boards to fill in the gaps in the narrative.

I've been in IT for about 35 years. I see a couple of holes in your historical recount.
I suggest that you consider discussing the historical recount as thus:
1. On premise single servers
2. On premise SMP servers
3. On premise clusters
4. On premise VM servers
5. Cloud providers
Overall, you did a good job. Consider adding years on each bullet point to give more context to attendees and viewers.

The platform-as-service introduction in the beginning; had me thinking for a little bit he was still talking about IAAS. PAAS probably needed a little bit more love but it was good - an interestingly enough description.
I like how he referenced Google I/O and the CEO - at the time Sundar’s - 🪧 demonstration referencing AI. It seems like he's done his homework showing adequate knowledge.
Overall, I like how he describes the technologies in a way where he pokes fun at the buzzwords but breaks it down in more simple/digestible terms. One of the benefits of Google Cloud, is they also tend to use less fancy terminologies to make it easier for the user/customer making it 1 less obstacle to deal with.
