Im 70 and i learned something new! What? How EASY it is! ❤❤❤ Thank you!!
These mitts will be great gifts and a wonderful replacement for my worn out kitchen mitts. Your videos are easy to follow and a joy to watch. You have a beautiful family always a treat to see them on a post or video.
Love those clips! I discovered them a while ago, and I use them all the time!!! Good tips all the way through the project. Nice!
Thank you so much for all of your tutorials! I find them so helpful and am grateful that you share your knowledge with us. You're a great teacher and I wish you continued success...
Love you girl, you're easy to follow and just a joy to learn from...thank you!
Vanessa, Thank you for your WONDERFUL Tutorials. I am really learning to sew!
Thank you! Made my first oven mitt today ! It was a huge success, thanks to you! xx (UK)
Thanks for the great tutorial. I love the way you finished these, no exposed seams! They look better than the store bought ones I am going to replace.
Thanks Vanessa! This is my go-to video for this shape oven mitts. Your videos are so well articulated without any wasted time. Just right!
I watch so many of your videos because you take the time to walk through at 1:1 speed how everything is to be sewn. Thank you for another great video Gemini's rock!
THANK YOU! That video was a great help. You are a wonderful teacher, Vanessa.
I made a pair of these for my mum for Christmas and she absolutely loved them. Thanks so much!
What a thorough, clear tutorial-thank you so much!
Hi Vanessa
Great tutorial, quick easy, and I have tons and tons of pretty fun fabric. I just have to get the insulated batting. Thanks.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! My grandmother-in-law's favorite oven mitts (in the family tartan) wore out recently, and we couldn't for the life of us find new ones commercially in the same tartan.
Thank you for sharing which way the batting should be used. I watched at least half a dozen tutorials, not one gave the information.
Love it.. Ordered the cute iron from Amazon and Hubby is making the mini ironing board insert for me right now.
These are great for last minute hostess gift ideas, and I need one myself! Thank you for this tutorial and pattern!
I love watching your videos. Merry Christmas!
I’ve used this a bunch of times. You’ve really figured out mitts!
Vanessa, I have been quietly following this channel for so long. I couldn’t sew back then but have learned from you and your videos since day one. Way back to your tiny room. I remember the quilts on the wall! Im proud to see you blossom so well, and have so many inspired people behind you. Merry & happy from the beautiful Cherokee hills in rural Oklahoma. I go other places but always end up back here! Take care, Trish ❤️
Thank You so much. I never feel intimidated when you explain projects. It is as if you know how my brain works. Thank You for the detailed explanation.
Thank you! I watched your video Wednesday afternoon, went to the fabric store that night and completed 3 sets of oven mitts by Thursday afternoon and the fourth set by bedtime on Thursday. I made them for my kids Teacher Christmas gifts and they loved them. I'm glad I have some extra fabric to make a few more. This was my first experience at quilting.
I made the oven mitt and changed up the thumb area but over all it came out really well. I even had my neighbor try it on and he really liked it. Thank you for all your tutorials.
👏👏 Very well done tutorial! You inspire, challenge and motivate me to make oven mitts and pot holders, even though I don’t cook. My husband will now be using pretty floral kitchen stuff!
Love your tutorials. They are very easy to follow.
I love your way so much better. I visited another bloggers site and was trying to copy everything down and then found your video. This is so much easier. Thank you-Thank You! Now I know what the family is getting for Christmas.
Nice. Love them and how well your explanation on the steps is. Can't wait to sit in my sewing machine to make a few diffetent one. Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial. I made them right away and they turned out great. Very easy to follow and very simple compared to some videos I have watched. Again thank you. I will keep watching for sure 👍😁😊
You are the best! When I first started quilting and tried to sew some peeker hats, small tote cosmetic bag, Cozi bowls and more, you explain and show so much! I made a quilted oven mitt the other day, the instructions were horrible and it took me an entire day to make it. It also involved making a binding, I did but it was extremely hard to sew on and then I had to hand sew to complete. Yesterday I searched for oven quilted mitts, you were in the selection, I immediately opened your tutorial. Today I made it in an hour!! Thank you so much!!! I'll send you a picture, hope to find your fb site to do so.
Thanks for the tutorial. As always, nicely done and can't wait to get started on these.
You're a very good teacher. Great video. I'm making 20 oven mitts today. Thanks for all the details.
You are a great instructor! I checked out your Facebook page and you have so much going on! You're a well of ideas and a great inspiration. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much ! With your help , I made 4 pair oven mitts for Christmas to family , with some memorable patterns, it was satisfying and well received. I picked up a walking foot for this and am going to try a proper quilting project next.
that was so easy to follow, the instructions were so good ugh i cant wait to try this!! i kept seeing cute oven mitts online but the reviews would say how bad they were for heat resistance so i really wanted to make my own to be sure and this vid is just great
Once again another video I watch of yours is easy to understand and follow. I plan on trying this project out soon.
Hi Vanessa, Will be using this tute and the one you make in 2017 as well to make a couple of Christmas gifts. I like the top stitching around the cuff in the later tutorial! Thanks!
for the life of me I can't understand why there are only 266 comments. I purchased the insulated fabric to make lunch boxes for Christmas and had no idea what to do with the left over insulated fabric. Till I realized there was a pattern on the back of the package and I just knew there was a tutorial for one. I searched a couple of patterns til I came across the CraftyGemini. As soon as I heard her voice I knew this was going to be a precise and doable tutorial. I made one of her patterns before and she knocked this out of the park again. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just learned how to sew aprons. Now I wanted to make matching oven mitts. Thank you for this! I will be trying.
I’m making them for holiday presents and a wedding basket I’m putting together-thank you! 🤲🏼
Loved it. You made it so easy. I am a first time sewer. I tried your pot holders. Then I did the oven mit. And both turned out great instructions were easy to follow. My next project will be the zipper pouch. Keep them coming I love it
I made these the other day and they are so easy to make. Thanks for the free pattern. My sister in law loves them.
I'm 74 and followed your tutorial for an oven mitt. It turned out great! Thank you ❤️
These ideas u have will work great. I have been trying to make them for awhile. Great job.
Thank you, Vanessa, for this wonderfully simple tutorial! I just finished two oven mitts for my DIL for Christmas. This was my first attempt at oven mitts, although I've made several of your patterns over the years. These were easy-peasy and I'm so grateful for your willingness to share your talents. You are an excellent instructor!
This is a great project. Now I can make my own Christmas and other holiday oven mitts.
Thank you for this video. I did feel that the size of the pattern was a little small, so I used a different pattern but followed these directions. I hate using seam binding, so I loved the finished edge.
I love it! I just wish I would have seen this a few days ago so I can make the for Teacher gifts before winter break.
I LOVE all of your tutorials so much 💓 ❤
It is becoming easier each time I make a set. I am using a layer of cotton batting in the middle (1 piece for each side) as it seems to keep the heat out. Great video with easy to follow instructions.
To anyone who is trying this out: adding cotton batting will make it harder to turn inside out once you're done stitching!
Speaking as someone who decided to add 2 later of cotton batting and spent 30 mins flipping the stiffest mitt inside out 😭
You are my life saver!!🙏 I was doing a golf head club cover to a customer and was following a CZcams how to do it. It was very misleading. But you helped me to put lining and outer together in a correct way!! Thank you so much🙏
Your video was very informative for me. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you for this oven mitt tutorial. I have made several. I have opted to cut lining my lining 1/4 in. shorter.
And I have used some strips of my “pretty fabric” on kitchen towel fabric and given as gifts.
Your explanation are great!!! ❤️
Thank you very much for sharing. I loved the one I made by using your instructions.
I watched many videos but I prefer like your video. Thank you for sharing this.
Well, well, I'm 75 and you've just taught me how to make oven mitts!! Thank you, thank you! I love your video tutorials and how you explain so well. Keep your tutorials coming, I so appreciate them! God bless you and yours

What a great tutorial. Thanks. I can’t find decent oven mitts that fit my style. I have a ton of fabric I can use. Just need the inner stuff and im ready 🥰🥰
Vanessa just want to let you know that I made one of the make up bags with the zipper... it was my very first bag as well as the very first zipper I have ever installed... thanks so much for your great tutorial...
My Mom always made oven mitts for our family...she passed away 3 years ago and with your help I made my first nice looking mitt! Thank you!
Brilliant tutorial. Going to give this a go tonight!
Thank you so much for this pattern and tutorial! It worked perfect!
Hi, I found your instructions while searching for a way to make oven mitts because I was not happy with the pattern I bought. I made two yesterday and gave them as a birthday gift. Everyone loved them and thought I had bought them. I am making some for our kitchen now. Great stuff. Thank you. Cora
You are a PHENOMENAL teacher!
So very glad I found this video. It shows step - by - step how to make a nice oven mit. Some videos are too quick on their instructions, or, they have a bit of annoying music instead of the person's actual voice. Those videos are good when the person making the video doesn't speak your native tongue, but, it's nice to actually hear someone speaking the instructions. TY for sharing this video with us.
I’m new to your channel and love all your educational videos. 🤩
Hallo, ich bin so begeistert von deinen Videos, habe schon einige Sachen nachgenäht, verstehe kein Wort aber ich sehe ja was du machst. Danke dafür
Liebe Grüße Pia

I love watching your videos!
Excellent tutorial!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! I have been searching for a housewarming gift to sew. This is perfect!
@@dcwatashi you have to follow manufacturers instruction for your batting, mine says to add a layer for cotton batting. I think hers didn't require it in the video. :)
dcwatashi oh wow ok cool! I am gonna look for that tutorial :) I am hoping to make some mitts too 😍
It worked out perfectly! Thanks!
Great video! You are very talented!
These are brilliant, thanks for sharing
Thank you for this video :-) I made beautiful oven mitt for chrismas gift ^^
This is so helpful! I can't wait to try a few...thanks so much 😘
I really had to overcome the fear factor but finally tried this. I don't know why, but when I was sewing the quilting part, twice I had a problem with the material puckering. Not sure how to fix this, so I am going to watch this video again, but I want to let you know how much I appreciated you sharing this how-to. So very grateful. And your pattern is the perfect size!
You just taught a 66 year old lady how to make oven mitts. Your Mother must be so very proud of you. I know I am. I love your videos and you are such a sweet person with compassion in your heart. Thank you for your time and willingness to teach us new things. Never stop sewing, it is a gift that keeps going. God Bless you hun.
God bless you!
