Very nice disco-ish fun song. I like the tracks I have heard so far off this album; almost like disco-meets-70s-country. I usually buy one discoish album a year and this will probably it! Will it be released on vinyl?
@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 Hey! Thanks so much, those were definitely some of the major inspirations on the record! You can pick it up on vinyl through Kanine Records or Rough Trade! Hope you enjoy it!
"Lady of the Manor" brought me here and this song is so good, I had to stop watching and track this down. I'm glad I did. I now have a new favorite song to put on repeat for the next month!
Dancing Queen for 2021. Has the total ABBA feel and the piano with Andrea True vocals and beat. Funny how music always comes back around and kudos to the young artist that connect to the music of years gone by. Loving this.
Great song, great inspiration with an aesthetic that reminded me of Abba, Andrea True Connection, Tina Charles and Carol Douglas. Pearl , you got it right , great job .
This is the best track, but I would recommend checking out the whole album. Great influences: ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, a little Dusty in Memphis kind of sound at times. It's cool that 70s pop/rock is coming back. You can hear it on albums like this one, or the last Weyes Blood and Kacey Musgraves albums.
Reminiscent of happier and carefree times . A dose of 70s inspired icons and when music wasn’t taken so seriously . Getting on the dance floor with bell bottoms and drinking boones farm wine 🍷
Wow! Great stuff. I just now went to your Bandcamp site and purchased your last viynl record. Can’t wait to get it. Love her voice. I hear hints of Christine Mcvee, Karen Carpenter, Linda Ronstadt, Carly Simon and even some ABBA. And that’s a good thing.
Let me just say I’ve listened to this album since the day it came out and it is still my number one for the year! Incredible music, I can’t wait to see what’s next. Until then, this will do :)
k-damn, where were you hiding, why I haven't heard about you before?! Your music already belongs in the hall of fame of all time best! The world needs to know about you! Best of luck to you! Even though I'd say you don't need it, but you kinda do in today's world...
This song and video should come with a warning - I'm working from home due to the pandemic and I have to stop every 20 minutes to watch this over again, and as a result I'm getting NOTHING done! Stop making those eyes at me, Pearl! Seriously this is a great song and a great tongue-in-cheek video that looks like it was fun to make; I just hope people buy the records and realise there's a lot more to Pearl Charles than this and it doesn't become what defines you in people's minds - I'd never have got into your music if it wasn't for the song "Idea to Her" for example. Keep it up, I love it
Is this the original song? I only just caught onto Pearl Charles because she is doing Desert Island on BBC6 music thingy, but I had previously thought this was an old classic song. This isn't a cover then? It's done quite well.

I was taught that in singing you're not supposed to sound too American singing out words ending with a hard 'r', but I like how she doesn't care and does it anyway.
@@kaninerecords weird... it's the same song as in the video shoot. is she a visual artist or does she actually also make original music aside from just covers?
There's being influenced by something, homaging something, heck even sampling something directly... then there's this which is almost verbatim Dancing Queen.
This is one of the most blatant ripoffs I've ever heard. It's like a particularly uninspired Frankenstein stitched together the rotting remnants of ABBA's corpse. Jebus, I hate it.
Thanks for joining me in the disco wonderland of this video!

YES Pearl Charles. I was lying on the floor with my cat and this came on the radio - WOW! Beautiful tune.

Smashing tune ❤
Yesterday i discovered this song, is so amazing. Love this sound.
Greetings from Spain
I've waiting for so long for this type of 70s vibe to make a resurgence in music and it's been poppin' off in the past few years. Love this album.
Tennis is another example.
Heard this for the first time today and what an absolute superb tune

Very ABBA sounding. Love it!
Lovely song and style. Bring back the good music!!!
I absolutely love that this music style is making a comeback! This shit rules man!

I love this song, but wouldn't go so fast about proclaiming it the best one on the album.
Zella Day’s newer stuff too has big 70s influences
also the carpenters
deffo abba, its those keys
Stuck in the 70's!! Great 🔥
LOL I had to watch again this morning! The outfits!!!!! so awesome! High style!
Hell yes!!
Massive shout to Lauren Laverne on BBC6 Music Radio for this one! She championed it this week
Pearl where were you? I can't not believe that I recent know your work. Amazing song
This totally nails that "ABBA meets Olivia Newton-John in the roller disco circa 1979" vibe. I honestly thought this *was* made in 1979! Unbelievable!
This was such a wonderful experience hearing this in my car today. It sounds incredible and made me so happy.
Never thought disco from 2021 could be this catchy
Very Stylish!!! neat 70s disco throwback :)
love seeing disco re-emerge! makes me emotional
This is the best new song I've heard in years.
This rules so hard.
So good!
Wow love this
A beaut❤

Chic costumes, light, scenery and atmosphere of that time, and of course irony and humor
Abba 'esque!! You're album is great! Congratulations 😀😍

This is a sublime record, as though ABBA met Andrea True Connection in paradise.

Late 1970s Nihilism meets 21st Century Disco....or vice versa...not sure.
