I’m not an Xbox user but I’ll be forever thankful for it. PlayStation needed some sort of real competition and Nintendo wasn’t going to keep up.
Your dumb af. Either Sony would've done their own thing or there would've been another company that competed against them. Nintendo to this day is more exclusive than both consoles but is focused now on ruining classic games and characters kinda like all game developers today. My point is Nintendo will always find a way to keep up

Competition breeds innovation. If Microsoft didn't step into the fight sonys playstation would be very different by today's standards. Xbox introduced new innovations that forced playstation to evolve and even now xbox is still driving playstation to adapt to keep up with rival gaming consoles.
@@bossredd-77 in terms of online features and applications sure, but otherwise Nintendo and Playstation still treat xbox like it's in last place which is crazy because they've made their mark (xbox) but many gamers out there want better from them especially when the xbox series x releases.

@@Pariahisgod I mean they have over 2/3 of europe already due to an extremely high amount of FIFA players over there. Plus in Asia That's pretty much Playstation/Nintendo territory and they'll have no chance. In Latin America and the rest of North America it's pretty much a mix of all 3 (although I do feel like Nintendo might be slightly higher in Latin america due to piracy and stuff).

if it wasn't for microsoft and xbox, online console gaming would have never taken off. It was the xbox that pushed playstation to start caring about online multiplayer. Most console gamers these days just play online multiplayer, with friends, and it's all thanks to microsoft and xbox

I honestly don't get why people say ps4 is better than Xbox. Let's set some facts down real quick. I have both and play exclusives on my ps4 like uncharted and blood borne and cod but just cause the competitive scene is there. But use my Xbox for every other game. Please people who say ps4 is better please try an Xbox one and then say your opinion. Everyone I know that has tried or owns both prefer Xbox cause of these reasons
1) Xbox interface: it's way easier to use now than when it was first released and it offers more.
2) Xbox live gold: you get not 2 games but 4 free Xbox games. 2 Xbox 360 and 2 Xbox one games. Seriously guys?
3) 2.4 and 5ghz bandwidth. Ps4 only accepts 2.4 ghz.
4) unknown internet bandwidth cap: I say this because I have a 150 Mbps down and I've seen people test their speed on Xbox and they get up to 1gbps. Ps4 caps at 30 Mbps lol cmon people.

5) controller: to me it feels better than the ps4 but that's irrelevant. They own their esport controller. Yes scuf is out there but to own their own is good for their store. The controller also uses some sort of wifi connectivity which is faster than the blu tooth 3.0 that ps4 uses and NO LAG when multiple people use Bluetooth around it. (Like recent call of duty tournaments). The new Xbox controller will also include Bluetooth to play wirelessly on a PC. Yea you can use a Xbox controller that can also play on PC isn't that amazing (sarcasm)
6) cross play: Xbox is supporting cross play for 1st party games which is a win for the gaming community. They also mentioned and took the initiative to accept cross play between consoles (happy claps)
7) friends: you can add so much more friends on Xbox than in ps4. I'm not sure if it's just me but I couldn't add a lot on ps4.
8) servers: this isn't really an answer cause everyone knows Xbox servers are servers are better. just saying. Cont...

Exactly Bill knew that Sony raised playing games to be the new medium in households and knew that if his name was on a competitor that he would get known for taking over the household and be the best or on parr.
Microsoft had been trying to takeover the living room in one form or another for a few years at that point, it's a logical avenue.

This was a fascinating interview.
It's very funny when people worship Sony's console so much in the comments due the bad start of Xbox One. If they only knew how rich is Microsoft they would know that Sony could be bought by them easily, transforming the console industry pretty much into a monopoly. They could even buy AMD and profit from Sony's and Nintendo's Hardware requests.

Feedback is not just the political term of 'feedback from your voters', but in psychological terms, you are presented with a decision that if ignored, could have dire consequences, or if accepted, could have amazing ones, with an acceptable loss if you're wrong.

I initially took the red ring of death as an insult, and never bought an Xbox again, Microsoft with all that money to have a system error that detrimental, embarrassing.
They rushed it out so they have something before the PS3. The Xbox needed more testing, but if it didn't come first, there would be no other reason to get one, other than to play with friends or halo.
