Octopi aren’t stupid. It knew it couldn’t eat the bear as soon as it touched it. It wasn’t attempting to eat it, it was more or less just exploring it and trying to figure out what it is.
Lotta people think the octopus was trying to eat it, but it looked more like it was curious as to what it was. Octopodes can taste with their tentacles, so it would have known it wasn't food right away.

Most likely, it was just using its great curiosity to examine the bear. Could have been for food, but they have more reasons than that. Sometimes, they are known to play with human toys and technology, perhaps it wanted to see of the bear could do anything sense it came from the creatures that give it various playthings. Once it examined it further, it realized it was just some statue made of fabric and let go dissapointedly.

It's not litter. They are pieces of a kind of seagrass called "posedonia". Quite common in Mediterranean sea and very important for the sealife, grows only in clean water (that's why is currently an endangered specie)

yes. seabirds especially eat a lot of plastics and when they die, most likely because they are unable to digest it, you can see the literal handfuls of trash in their stomachs. i can give you links to photos and articles if you would like me to.
Octopi have their taste buds on their tentacles, so they can tell when something is food or trash before they eat it. Its true that seabirds and turtles will mistake trash for food, but I doubt an octopus would.

It's not litter. They are pieces of a kind of seagrass called "posedonia". Quite common in Mediterranean sea and very important for the sealife, grows only in clean water (that's why is currently an endangered specie)
