In conjunction with Singapore's 55th birthday, we are also making this very special release of the finale of The Songs We Sang Xinyao Reunion held on July 6, 2014. This precious footage was not in the final cut. 同时我们也为新加坡55岁生日献上振奋人心的新谣歌曲《星空下》。#我们唱着的歌 在2014年7月6日主办重返书城 #新谣 分享会，以这首歌作为压轴大合唱，这组画面最终剪不进纪录片里，现在首次推出。
✨#星空下 创作于1984年底，#巫启贤 作曲、黄元成(已逝)作词，当时他们受聘到印尼为台湾歌手苏芮当和音，坐上飞机时，他们感觉到“天空踩在脚底”，有了灵感写下这首歌。
“让我把过去的不如意　一切都抛弃”、“美丽的明天　须要自己去努力“
祝愿这些积极向上的歌词伴随我们一起度过生命的难关。
梁文福在纪录片里曾说：“许多的新谣歌曲跟官方委制的那些爱国歌曲，最大的区别就在于，它不是一个由上而下、概念先行的创作，而是本着自己对生活的感受，想写什么就写什么。”

🌟Mandopop 'Starry Sky' was written in 1984 when Eric Moo and the late Sunkist Ng were traveling to Indonesia as backup singers for a famous Taiwan singer. While they were on the plane, “with the sky at their feet”, they had the inspiration for this song. May the upbeat #Xinyao lyrics continue to motivate us. During these trying times, don't lose hope, have faith and stay passionate. Though concerts are mostly suspended now under the new norm, let's look out for each other and watch #TheSongsWeSang together. The documentary is made with a lot of hearts and souls, and hopefully invite you to reflect on our past, present and future.
As Liang Wern Fook rightly expressed in the documentary, "When you compare Xinyao songs with sing-along songs officially commissioned for National Day, the biggest difference is that Xinyao songs are not a top-down directive but rather they originate from the inspiration of daily life."
We are immensely grateful to all the singers, sponsors, volunteers and crew who had contributed to this memorable project. Thanks to Lai Chee Kien who translated the lyrics for our non-Chinese viewers.
