      Question wise - you'll likely receive some of these:
      Can you describe your experience in managing the operations of a supermarket or retail store?
      How do you ensure efficient inventory management and minimise wastage in a supermarket setting?
      What strategies to improve the layout of the stall and how to drive up sales?
      Can you provide examples of cost-saving measures you've implemented previous roles?
      What methods do you use to monitor and improve the cleanliness and safety standards of a supermarket?
      Tell us about a challenging situation you encountered in your previous role and how you resolved it?
      Rehearse your responses to these interview questions, focusing on articulating your experiences, achievements, and qualifications effectively! and don't forget to emphasise customer service and research Lidl!

    How do you feel about a 5am start should be one question.

      True answer: no way 😒
      Interview answer: I understand the need for highly efficient store workflow and demanding stock deliveries, so I would be more than happy to start early to get the job done. I enjoy early starts and working toward tight deadlines, before the store opens to customers with high product expectations. Provided I have a strong coffee on my break (awkward Interview laugh)

    Hey Rupert I am having a phone interview tomorrow at lidl. Can you give me the question and answers they asked on the phone interview?

      Hello.
      The questions I got for the phone part were:
      - What do you know about us?
      - Why would you like to work here?
      - What skills can you bring to the team/teamwork etc
      (I covered these in the video)
      Also they may ask
      - Have you had much work experience with customer service?:
      Explain your job history in previous retail environments and how you are always customer focused and helpful, making sure each customer has left with a smile. If you have none, bring up personal skills you have develop working with people at college/uni and projects. Again, if you have no experience, talk about customer experiences you have had personally which have been positive, and how you will use similar skills for a job at Lidl
      - What is your availability like?
      Offer as much avaliability as possible - due to the changing shift patterns on their rota. Mention you are flexible and happy to take on overtime if required.

      Here is some they MAY ask. Each manager is different, but here’s a taster of the kind of questions they use:
      Scenario: A customer complains about expired products on the shelves. How would you handle this situation?
      Answer: I would apologise to the customer and promptly remove the expired products from the shelves. Then, I would investigate the cause of the issue, possibly involving the inventory management team, and implement measures to prevent it from happening again.
      Scenario: During a busy period, the checkout lines are getting longer, and customers are becoming frustrated. What steps would you take to alleviate the situation?
      Answer: I would quickly assess the situation and deploy additional cashiers to open up more checkout lanes. If necessary, I would also assist with bagging items or directing customers to available tills to help the process.
      Scenario: An employee calls in sick, leaving a critical shift understaffed. How would you manage the situation to ensure smooth store operations?
      Answer: First, I would assess the staffing needs for the shift and determine if any other employees can cover or if temporary staff can be brought in. If necessary, I would adjust schedules or redistribute tasks among existing staff to ensure all essential duties are covered without compromising customer service.
      Scenario: The store receives a sudden rush of customers due to an unexpected promotion. How would you handle the increased demand and ensure adequate stock levels?
      Answer: I would closely monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed to replenish popular items. If possible, I would manage the increased demand efficiently and could deploy additional staff to restock shelves and assist customers.
