the fact that a grown ass woman saw the opportunity to approach tyler and use his dead mother against him to be able to groom and manipulate the boy into thinking that the outcasts did that to his mom, not to mention she also physically abused him so she could fully awaken the hyde inside him to exact her devious plans... and that the majority of the audience is still refusing to acknowledge this fact which was clearly shown as canon in the series, just so they can justify and uplift their ships, doesn't sit right with me. tyler deserves a redemption arc idc

@@KYDDVs I think he became more and more like the Hyde, I don't think what we saw when he confessed to Wednesday was Tyler. After he finishes his scentence you can see he's crying, which meant he felt something for Wednesday even if it was just guilt. I also don't think he tried to kill Thing, getting into Wednesday's dorm would require him sneaking past everyone in the school which is just time wasting, it'd make more sense for that to have been Mrs Thornhill.

TBH, I did not see him being the Hyde coming. I mean, I knew Thornhill was involved, but I thought the Hyde was Dr. Kinbott. That old journal said that Hydes are usually artistic in nature, and those weird taxidermy statues that she made count as art, technically. It was a great plot twist that I didn't see coming. Having a sort of insight when it comes to plot twists, it's kind of refreshing be surprised.
I guess Tyler's art was probably his coffee making. But I mean it's also the only thing in the series you see him doing next to helping Wednesday but yeah :D
The first episode I watched was where she finds out he's the Hyde at the end. I figured it was him from the beginning, so they was fun to know I was right
I thought that Kinbott would be Laurel Gates, but I was indeed surprised by the plot twist (despite Thornhill being in my suspect list, but was added to Number 4 since I was doubtful whether she'd be the villain or not). Tyler was not added to my suspect list but like Thornhill, I was shocked by the revelation that he was the one who killed Kinbott.
What about his acting skills? He fooled Wednesday, and it's so incredible because she's not someone who could be fooled easily but he did. I think it's his artistic talent and maybe cooking and painting.

I don't know why nobody talks about how his expression changed when he got done with his little diatribe to Wednesday at the police station and there were tears in his eyes. He wasn't putting it on to turn back around because when he turns around, he's smiling again. He likes her. The monster in him is controlled by someone else who doesn't.

Tyler is my fav character and no one is convincing me otherwise. He isn't really to blame for his actions considering he was controlled, tortured, and forced to do what he did. He really had no control of himself or his actions what so ever... he needs a redemption arc really badly. I WANT HIM TO HAVE IT ON SEASON 2! IT HAD BETTER HAPPEN! Maybe he could go to Nevermore at some point, learn to control his powers, and have a happy life after all.
There are a lot of details in Tyler's story that are left open, like what happened to his mother? Was he always angry with the outcasts? did he really like Wednesday? and if he didn't like it, why did he return the kiss? Wasn't that date too romantic for a simple distraction? where did he go at the end of the series? did his father know everything from the beginning? many unresolved issues, so I expect a very interesting arc of this character in the second season 😉🤩👍🏻

I don’t really ship Tyler and Wednesday anymore because he turned out to be a serial killer. Although I’m not really sure now whether or not I still ship them because at the end of the day, it’s not really his fault because he was groomed by Thornhill and was manipulated to do her bidding. So I don’t think he knew in the beginning what he was nor what his mother was. He didn’t know he was the Hyde until episode 5. Despite that, I still find Tyler a really interesting character and I also hope he will get a redemption arc. In the beginning of the series, he was so nice and helped Wednesday. So I still think he’s a really nice and caring person at heart. The twist of Tyler being the Hyde was really well done. I didn’t see it coming.

I think Tyler can get a sorta redemption. He’s a Hyde so shouldn’t there be 2 personalities in him. There’s Tyler and then there’s the Hyde and in order to activate the Hyde ya need trama or chemicals both where used on Tyler
Chemical by laural + him being tied up in a cave + mommy issues + his own dad emotionally ignoring him + the girl he actually likes tortured him. It could be that he doesn’t know he was a Hyde and just blacked out when given orders and when he had enough the Hyde took full control. It would go like his mom where she’s bi polar due to being a Hyde

Okay. I just want to set the record straight. Tyler is good. Hyde is bad. There are 2 different sides. Let me explain. Tyler's Ma was a Hyde. He was too. His Dad hid it from everyone. He could not send him to Nevermore cuz Hydes were banned (still bad choice not to tell him). He was forced to go with Laurel Gates aka Miss Thornhill. He was TORTURED. Like Hyde nature he needed a master. She was his master now. He was in no right mind as a Hyde. He truly loved Wednesday but that was Tyler not the Hyde. Later in episode 7 He was Hydeish. He was becoming his Hyde but still in a human state. Sooo REDEEM TER PLS!!!!!!!!

if he does end up being redeemed, i don’t think he should end up with wednesday. he was groomed and manipulated and tortured. he had no choice in the matter and served his master. these statements are true. but he still lied to wednesday and actively helped her solve the case where he was the villain, throwing her off further. i understand that telling her would be scary, but wednesday’s whole thing (well one of her things) is her honesty. i don’t think she’d be able to accept someone into her life who has lied to her in such a manner.
Tyler should get a redemption arc,tell wednesday what happened and how he was this way or how he was manipulated, and hopefully become good friends with wednesday so that way him and everyone else can help her discover who her stalker is. Its like a 50% 50% chance for both xavier and tyler.
i think that he lied to her because he was scared that he would get in trouble with his master ( laurel gates) but did not want Wednesday to not like him.. Remember it must have been very confusing liking someone and hating someone at the same time
i believe that he truley liked her but was controlled to lie and to kill people. he is sweet and caring because in the start of the show he wanted to help her escape like he cared and did not want to get her hurt. heck he even wanted to escape himself. i don't disagree with you i just think he lied because he had to to protect himself from getting hurt even more then he was already. after all Wednesday was probably the only thing that he actually cared about. Can anyone tell me Tyler's family history? I m confused
Not much is known other than his dad knew she was an outcast and still fell in love with her and married her.
Tyler's mom had been diagnosed as bipolar and it seems that post-partum depression unlocked her Hyde.
It is hinted that she may be dead, but it is not mentioned how she died. Was she killed while in her Hyde form? If so, who killed her? Tyler's dad, perhaps? What if she is not dead? She could have been trapped and locked away somewhere and Tyler's dad chose not to tell him the truth thinking he was protecting him. So not much is known yet. But it is worth exploring and hope the writers will do that.
